T.G.I.F. with Matt Dawgs: #436

Good day to you all and welcome to We Want Insanity. I am your host for today, Matt Dawgs and this is my column. Today is the end of the work week and the time to look back at all the goings-on over the past seven days as I wrap it up with a bow and spout it out bit by bit. Buckle up. Enjoy the ride.

IMPORTANT MATT NOTE:: I am hoping that you readers have taken the time to lend a hand and donated to the JAIDAN STRONG cause for me. I’d really appreciate it if you did; as little as $5 can go a long way. If not, it isn’t a big deal but please at least SHARE THE LINK. I get that finances can be tough for some but taking the time to share a link via your social media doesn’t cost a dime. I’d appreciate it greatly as one of your friends or family members may be able to help out. Thanks.

BONUS MATT NOTE: today marks the 21st Anniversary of the death of the Notorious B.I.G. Just imagine how different rap music would be today if he was still alive? Such a shame that such bullsh*t ruined what could have been an incredible legacy of both Biggie and Tupac. Instead we get Lil Yachty now rapping. SMH.

- WWE announced via their website on Monday that Ronda Rousey will be on EVERY RAW between now and Wrestlemania. While I am all for her working more shows than other part timers, she absolutely should NOT be on RAW weekly until Mania as it will over expose her especially if she isn’t booked strong and isn’t able to cut a solid promo on her own yet. If they want her to talk, they need to give her bullet points rather than script her. Let her be herself.

- I get needing to get the hype train ready following the Royal Rumble as it officially marks the beginning of Wrestlemania season. But when you blow your whole load straight out the gate that becomes more and more difficult. Why in God’s name would WWE let Ronda Rousey do ANYTHING PHYSICAL to Stephanie McMahon BEFORE Mania is beyond me. Not one single time should she have done anything to Stephanie before she is in the ring at Mania. Could they have teased it? Absolutely. Ronda could have grabbed Steph by the hair and teased a spot before HHH grabbed Steph and pulled her out. Or you could have had Steph push Angle into Ronda thus causing Ronda to lose her grip on Steph and she flees the ring. WWE could have done a number of different scenarios other than having Ronda hit Stephanie with a Samoan Drop. This is what happens when you have too much time between Rumble and Mania, WWE runs out of ideas. They are going to completely blow their load before Mania especially with the announcement that Ronda is going to be on every RAW until then. They are going to run out of things to do to get heat and the crowd isn’t going to care when the time comes. It should have been a slow as molasses build until Ronda locked in the arm bar and causes Steph to tap.

- While the same doesn’t apply to HHH and Angle since we’ve seen that before, having HHH tap to the Ankle Lock immediately following Ronda laying out Steph and BOOM, we already got out payoff. No need to even watch Mania as the good guys did their thing to the bad guys. Done.

- I HATE that they are pushing Nia Jax at the expense of Asuka. Don’t get me wrong, I like Jax a lot and think she does in fact deserve a push but Asuka is where the money is at. Having her sell and sell and sell for Jax before getting the win and having Jax sell the arm bar forever before tapping makes Jax the bigger bad ass of the two.

- Boy did WWE do a good job at keeping the fans from booing Cena. Cena’s promo manipulated the fans perfectly because they were all ready to sh*t all over him for saying that he would win the WWE title at “Fastlane” and go onto face Shinsuke Nakamura at Mania. But before they could get all over him, he made it clear that he didn’t want Nakamura in a one on one match because A.J. has worked harder than anyone in WWE all year long and deserves his Mania moment. So he wants A.J. after he loses to immediately issue his automatic rematch clause for losing a title and for him to be added to the main event of Mania against Cene and Nakamura in a three way. While the crowd obviously wants A.J. vs. Nakamura one on one, they popped big for the mention of the three way.

- Goldust interrupting Cena and then working a match against him had to be a Cena request no? I cannot imagine anyone in WWE creative randomly coming up with that for no reason at all.it was the first time they have ever worked a singles match against each other.

- I sound like a broken record by Goldust, despite his age, should have a more prominent role on WWE programming. I am not talking about him becoming Universal Champion or headlining Mania but he absolutely should be involved in feuds with talents WWE wants to get over rather than being a jobber. A long term feud vs. Finn or Elias or Rollins would only help them as workers. Does no one remember how much Batista improved many years ago feuding with Fit Finlay? Or Bobby Lashley as well? Both men benefitted enormously by working with a veteran who could go.

- WWE needs to take a more careful approach when scripting their talent. Bayley, when trying to justify her not letting Sasha Banks tag her last week in their six person match said that when Banks attacked her at the Royal Rumble and then again at Elimination Chamber, it was every person for themselves. So unless she was about to do her full heel turn before Absolution interrupted, she basically proved that she was a jerk because Banks was well within her rights.

- Alexa Bliss’ “pep talk” to Nia Jax was F*CKING GOLD~!~! LOL.

- The Braun Strowman/Elias “Symphony of Violence” stuff was good. The crowd goes completely nuts for Braun when he does gimmick match stuff. They love it.

- Congrats to Hillbilly Jim as he was announced as the latest inductee to the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame. I am honestly surprised that he was not already inducted earlier. In my honest opinion, mostly everyone on Wrestlemania 1 & 2 should be in the Hall.

- THE ULTIMATE DELETION!!!! IT IS COMING!!!! Please oh please let everyone in the Broken Hardy Universe get introduced. We need senior Benjamin to prepare the battlefield for massacre!!!!

- For those wondering, WWE taped a bunch of stuff at the Hardy Compound yesterday so this will likely air on RAW on Monday or the following Monday. Therefore it will NOT be taking place at Wrestlemania. If WWE wanted to, it could in turn end up with Bray joining Matt next week and having them eventually challenge The Bar at Mania. That is what happened when Matt “broke” Jeff and he morphed into Brother Nero. It could be a way to repackage Bray which is MUCH NEEDED. That’s just me fantasy booking though.

- The Mizzie Awards was extremely boring and went SUPER LONG.

- The Bar has issued an open challenge. My assumption is that this is either leading to the Dudley Boyz to face them at Mania or a new, up and coming team from NXT to face them. Perhaps “War Machine”? The Hardy’s could also face them if they decide to blow off Matt vs. Bray with Ultimate Deletion on RAW rather than Mania. Jeff Hardy has been medically cleared by his surgeon to return to the ring. He is just waiting on WWE’s clearance and be inserted in the “Woken” storyline.

- It is amazing to me that not one of my readers noticed but the weekly cruiserweight match from 205 Live hasn’t been featured on RAW in a few weeks now. Honestly, did you notice that we haven’t been getting the weekly six man or tag match involving cruisers on RAW?

- The Heyman promo to end the show was INCREDIBLE. The man can sell fire in hell if you asked him to. Roman more than held his own too and so far it seems like WWE is doing a good job in building this match. I don’t think however that they are going to succeed in turning the crowd against Brock and have them cheer Roman. That isn’t going to happen. Brock is going to get cheered and Roman booed out of the building come Mania.

- Apparently over on Smackdown, they are building to a romance between Charlotte and Bobby Roode based on their teaming on the Mix Match Challenge. Charlotte is looking quite smitten by Roode. I write apparently because I haven’t seen Smackdown yet this week.

- I did hear that Rusev challenged Nakamura to a match at “Fastlane” which Nak accepted. Nak then said that he would win and then go onto Wrestlemania and win there and declare it “NAKAMURA DAY!!!” Rusev then deadpanned back at him that his statement doesn’t even make any sense because you can’t just make up your own holiday. Rusev is an amazing man. He should absolutely win the Andre Battle Royal at Mania.

- While RAW was on the air on Monday, news broke that WWE’s Jonathan Coachman was named in a sexual harassment lawsuit against ESPN. Coachman is not being sued but his name came up in the investigation of Adrienne Lawrence which claims that the culture of ESPN featured a ton of sexual harassment and discrimination. Coachman denied these claims on Twitter and made note that the claims are baseless which explains why he isn’t named in the lawsuit. WWE revealed that they are investigating the claims independently and disciplinary action will be taken if they find anything was improper.

- By the way, by the way the complaint reads, Coach allegedly hit on Ms. Lawrence, she mentioned that she has a boyfriend and Coach stopped talking to her. So the assumption is that he led her to believe that he would be a mentor to her and when she rebuffed his attempted verbal advances (not physical advances) he stopped pursuing her. And she’s mad. #MeTooSMH

- Former WWE Champion Alberto El Patron met with WWE CEO Vince McMahon in WWE Headquarters in Stamford Connecticut last weekend. El Patron was flown in by WWE to film some commentary for an upcoming WWE documentary on Rey Mysterio. The meeting with McMahon was unscheduled but there have been rumblings for a while now that McMahon is interested in brining El Patron back into the company and he has shown interest as of late in interviews.

- Despite ending individual brand PPV’s; WWE has decided to add MORE TITLES to the long list of current titles as they are introducing “Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles” to 205 Live. Ugh. The titles will not debut until AFTER Wrestlemania.

- Brock Lesnar worked a live event following his “no-show” last Monday on Raw. He defeated Kane in 35 seconds which did NOT leave a good taste in fan’s mouths as they expected more. This was done on purpose by WWE Management as they are working overtime to try and turn Lesnar heel in the fans eyes so that Roman Reigns gets cheered at Wrestlemania.

- It isn’t a big deal as of now because come Mania weekend, everything should be sold out but as of today, NONE of the Mania weekend WWE events are sold out. Mania will be on show day. RAW has about 100 tickets left so that will go but NXT Takeover, the Hall of Fame or Smackdown are sold out yet. That has NEVER been the case this close to the weekend.

- DOWN GOES FISH. Bobby Fish suffered a torn ACL which he has undergone surgery at the hands of Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham Alabama earlier this week. This will keep him out of action for 6 months or more. It was announced that the Undisputed Era of O’Reilly and Adam Cole are the new NXT tag team champions under “Freebird Rules”. They will defend the titles in a THREE WAY at Takeover for the titles. It will be Cole and O’Reilly vs. The Authors of Pain vs. Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong.

- For some reason NXT replace Tyler Bate and Trent Seven in the Dusty Classic with WWE U.K. Champ Pete Dunn and Roderick Strong as a team. I am assuming the announcement was made by someone on commentary as to why but Seven did work the NXT tapings so maybe something happened with Bate?

- NXT will in fact be having a Takeover event June 16th in Chicago over Money in the Bank weekend. This will mark the first time that NXT will be running 5 Takeover events in a calendar year. It has traditionally only been 4 coinciding with the “Big 4” WWE PPV events of The Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam and Survivor Series.

- At the NXT tapings this week, William Regal announced that NXT is introducing the “North American Title” which will be decided over Wrestlemania weekend in New Orleans. This was done to set up the debut of EC III as he thanked Regal for creating a title just for him. Regal revealed that EC III will have to earn it in a LADDER MATCH at Takeover: New Orleans against 5 other competitors which are:

  • Lars Sullivan
  • Velveteen Dream
  • Killian Dain
  • Ricochet
  • Adam Cole
  • - Originally it was announced that Adam Cole would be in the match but later in the tapings he helped Kyle O’Reilly and will be replacing Bobby Fish as one half of the tag team champions. No word on if he will be pulling double duty or if he will be replaced in the ladder match.

    - Donovan Dijak made his debut at the NXT tapings using the name Chris Dijak.

    - The semi-finals of the cruiserweight tournament have been set as Cedric Alexander will face off with Roderick Strong and Mustafa Ali will battle Drew Gulak with the winners facing off at Wrestlemania for the title. I think it is a safe assumption to say that Alexander will fight Gulak for the title. I cannot imagine WWE not rewarding them for being the centerpiece of the division for the past year once Neville left.

    - I hope and pray that anyone with half a brain in creative thinks this is a terrible idea and has the balls to talk to HHH to shoot it down but as of now, the plan is for Ricochet to move to 205 Live when he is called up to the main roster. Ugh.

    - WWE has come to terms on the release of Abbey Laith from her contract. Laith was signed under her independent name of Kimber Lee back in 2016. She was a jobber of sorts losing to Ruby Riot on TV in a Battle Royal to crown a number one contender to Asuka’s title. She was then repackaged as Abbey Laith and participated in the Mae Young Classic but did not appear on TV under her new name other than the tournament. No reason as given for her release.

    - Following Laith’s release, NXT also released Sage Beckett and Gu Guangming from their deals. Beckett is best known for being Rosie Lottalove of TNA fame and famously ended the career of Daffney Unger by giving her a final concussion that she never recovered from. She was trained by The Dudley Boyz and managed to lose over 100 lbs. from her debut in wrestling to now. Guangming was one of the WWE’s Chinese recruits. He is 6 foot 8 inches tall and was signed in 2016 but was never used on TV in any capacity and word is, he just couldn’t pick up to wrestling.

    - Drew McIntyre is close to returning to action and has begun wrestling training at the Performance Center in Orlando. He is approximately a month ahead of schedule and could return for Takeover: New Orleans.

    - Rey Mysterio’s impending debut/return to WWE may now be on hold as he has a partially torn bicep suffered in an independent match last weekend in Connecticut. There is no timetable for his being out and he may actually be able to work through the injury but that is still undecided. My assumption is that he will try to wrestle on the New Japan “Strong Style Evolved” show on March 25th in California against Jushin Thunder Liger as well as any sort of angle he is in negotiations to be involved in at Wrestlemania or the RAW/Smackdown following the event so long as he takes the proper precautions to not injure it further.

    - WWE officially announced that at a special event they are holding in Saudi Arabia next month, they will be having their first ever 50 Man ROYAL RUMBLE. It is being billed as the “Greatest Royal Rumble Ever” and already announced for the match are John Cena, Triple H, Roman Reigns, WWE Champion A.J. Styles, Braun Strowman, Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston, Big E., Xavier Woods, Bray Wyatt & Shinsuke Nakamura. It is the first event being held with WWE and the Saudi General Sports Authority that was agreed to by Vince McMahon last week which is a 10 year deal to host events in Saudi Arabia. This will likely be taped as a WWE Network special.

    - WWE is also planning on running a stadium show in Australia at the 100,000 seat MCG Stadium in Melbourne. I cannot imagine WWE drawing 100,000 for anything other than Wrestlemania however Rousey is a HUGE draw in Australia and WWE plans on this event being a PPV event. WWE had drawn 55,000 there in the past back in 2002 for what was scheduled to be Hulk Hogan’s return to Australia with the WWE as well as a main event of Brock Lesnar defending the WWE title in a three way against The Rock and Triple H. Hogan never appeared on the show despite being advertised as he quit the promotion a few weeks before the show took place. Ronda Rousey is expected to work the show, likely taking place in October. She headlined her 1st loss for UFC there against Holly Holm drawing 56,000 fans.

    - Dolph Ziggler revealed that it was his request to be taken off television recently because he felt like he was only being used in an enhancement role despite how hard he worked in the ring or how much effort he put. He said that he felt like he deserved more than he was getting and that time off would help rehabilitate his character. The goal was to be kept off television for six months to a year but instead he was brought back to television in four weeks.

    - As noted last week, Ronda Rousey and her mother Ann DeMars were inducted to the International Sports Hall of Fame for their success in Judo.

    - Congrats to former WWE Diva Eve Torres-Gracie and her husband Rener Gracie as they revealed that they are expecting their second child together.

    - Former WWE Star Rosa Mendes is currently training for a return to wrestling. I assume she wants to join WWE again but that is unlikely unless she has improved in the ring by leaps and bounds.

    - The latest on WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch is that she is still in prison and has not had anyone post bail for her. Due to the numerous charges she is being held on, all in violation of her probation, she could in fact face several years in prison.

    - Chicago Illinois is “ALL IN” as Cody and the Young Bucks revealed that the 11,800 seat Sears Centre in Chicago will be the arena hosting the September 1st “All In” show. The goal is to sell 10,000 tickets. I really hope and pray that they do in fact sell that much. As of today, tickets are expected to go on sale in May and they plan on announcing the hotel where they will be staying at next week (likely during “Being the Elite”).

    - Latest episode of BEING THE ELITE featuring the “All In” announcement.

    - I am saying it now, I fully expect CM Punk to make an appearance at “All In” in some capacity. He likely will cut a promo of some sort on the show. Not wrestling, just appearing.

    - Tomohiro Ishii will be joining Kenny Omega, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kota Ibushi as New Japan talents that are working the “Supercard of Honor” show over Wrestlemania weekend in New Orleans. The show is being main evented by Kenny Omega vs. Cody and will be going head to head with NXT Takeover: New Orleans.

    - Following his career ending head injury caused in a match against IWGP Champion Kazuchika Okada caused by a violent head butt, Katsuyori Shibata has been named the official head trainer of the New Japan Dojo in Los Angeles. The camp officially opens on March 19th.

    - Rocky Romero will be running the dojo and another trainer there will be Scorpio Sky.

-So Cal Uncensored of Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky missed the ROH show in New York this weekend due to their flights being cancelled cause of poor weather in NYC.

    - Former WWE star Rich Swann was backstage at the Lucha Underground tapings this week. No word on whether or not he was just visiting or actually working any of the tapings. Spoilers are hard to come by as the audience has to sign NDA’s for these shows. So much so that Lucha Underground has threated to sue PWSheet’s Ryan Satin for posting some results of the show.

    - Swann was also involved in a small online altercation where he tweeted something to the effect that he is having trouble being booked by some independent companies for being “accused” of a crime yet these companies have no issue booking bank robbers. He did not tag anyone in the post however this prompted CONVICTED bank robber Nick Gage to reply directly to the tweet noting that Swann shouldn’t be afraid to call someone out by name and said that if he has a problem, they could settle it face to face real quickly. Swann replied that it wasn’t a shot at Gage (although it obviously was) and that he has no issues with Gage but it was just a posting that independent promoters can be fickle when selecting talents. In all honesty, Swann is 100% INCORRECT in his statements because Gage served time for his crimes and thus did his penance. Swann had witnesses to his crime and the only reason he didn’t go to trial is because his spouse refused to cooperate. It took place not that long ago and is still fresh in people’s minds. Gage served what I believe was 3 years in prison.

    - Swann has also noted that he plans on retiring following his independent fulfillments that he has already booked. I do not believe this for one single second. He is just speaking out of frustration because he likely thought that he’d have people kicking his door down following a WWE release because of his WWE value but instead, they aren’t because of the allegations against him.

    - Rey Mysterio suffered a partially torn bicep las t weekend in Connecticut. Thankfully it isn’t that serious and he won’t miss significant time. I expect him to try and make his New Japan “Strong Style Evolved” show from California on March 25th.

    - The demand for tickets for a meet and greet with Steve Austin at WrestleCon has exceeded all expectations so a 2nd signing has been added to the convention. I cannot fathom why anyone involved in this would think that Austin’s FIRST EVER non-WWE convention wouldn’t need a 2nd appearance?

    - UFC Heavyweight Fabricio Werdum revealed that he wants to peruse wrestling following his UFC career and is actually in talks to wrestle for a Lucha Libre promotion in Mexico now.

    - WWC (World Wrestling Council), promoted by WWE Hall of Famer Carlos Colon, ran their first show last Saturday in Puerto Rico since September when the island was crushed by Hurricane Irene. They are running again this coming weekend.

    - ROH’s 16th Anniversary Show is tomorrow from Las Vegas.

RING OF HONOR’S “16th ANNIVERSARY SHOW” is on TOMORROW NIGHT from Las Vegas Nevada and the line-up is as follows:

  • ROH TITLE: Dalton Castle © vs. Jay Lethal
  • ROH TAG TEAM TITLE: The Motor City Machine Guns © (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelly) vs. The Briscoes (Mark & Jay Briscoe)
  • ROH SIX MAN TAG TITLES: The HUNG Bucks (Matt Jackson/Nick Jackson/Hangman Page) vs. So Cal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels/Frankie Kazarian/Scorpio Sky) in a Vegas Streetfight
  • Cody w/Brandi Rhodes vs. Matt Taven
  • Marty Scurll vs. Punishment Martinez
  • Flip Gordon vs. Hiromu Takahashi
  • WOMEN OF HONOR TOURNAMENT: Sumie Sakai vs. Hana Kimura
  • NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING “STRONG STYLE EVOLVED” is on Saturday, March 25th, 2018 from Long Beach California and the line-up is as follows:

  • The Golden Lover (Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi) vs. The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson)
  • IWGP U.S. Title: Jay White © vs. Hangman Page
  • Jushin “Thunder” Liger vs. Rey Mysterio

    - Sami Callihan has been taken to task via Twitter by both Jim Cornette and Kassius Ohno over the botch spot that broke Eddie Edwards face. Cornette was LIVID over it and called Callihan out. Callihan tried to be a smart ass talking about how he will just keep watching his bank account go up, which is honestly as terrible an excuse as you could use considering where he is currently wrestling. That made Ohno chime in and get hot at Callihan comparing his bank account to a useless and pointless spot that injured a fellow worker. Ohno wrote: “Really? Really? There is ZERO correlation between how much money you make & what happened in that ring. You should be embarrassed. ASHAMED.”

    - Callihan is using the incident to his gain by releasing a shirt noting that he broke Edwards face as well as challenging anyone who has an issue with his work to meet him at one of his upcoming shows and step to his face to “talk” it over.

    - Dorion Roldan, owner of AAA in Mexico is expressing interest in buying Impact Wrestling from Anthem Sports & Entertainment.

    - Impact is looking into re-signing both Eli Drake, who’s contract expires at the end of March as well as Alberto El Patron who’s deal expires at the end of April. Patron, as noted in the WWE section, is currently discussing a WWE return.

    MMA News and Notes:

    - I couldn’t believe my eyes last weekend when Brian Ortega, a man who I sad in this very column a week ago, KNOCKED OUT Frankie Edgar. WOW. I thought he could beat Edgar but never in a million years did I think Ortega would become the first man to STOP Edgar. All of Edgar’s career losses have been by decision. He has never submitted in a fight nor has he ever been knocked unconscious, until Ortega. Ortega will now likely move onto face Max Holloway for the title and it will be a tough one for both men. Ortega, while knocking a lot of people out so far in his undefeated career, has had to come from behind for these wins. Holloway is an excellent fighter hitting his prime. So coming from behind against him is going to be tough.

    - The main event of the above show was Cris “Cyborg” Justino defending her UFC Women’s Featherweight title against Yana Kunitskaya and had the usual result, Cyborg destroying her. It has been 13 years and counting for Cyborg dominating women. Following the win, Dana White continued to push the idea of Cyborg vs. UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes. Nunes has been pushing for a title defense against Raquel Pennington however White noted that while that has been discussed, he is more than happy to drop that fight to pit champion vs. champion as it would be a bigger draw. After saying that on Saturday, UFC announced on Thursday that Nunes will defend her title on the May 12th show from Brazil against Pennington.

    - One of the biggest WTF moments in UFC history took place last weekend as Andre Soukhamthath took on Sean O’Malley. O’Mally, easily dominated the first two rounds of the fight before almost immediately injuring his leg to start the third. He thought he actually broke it completely and ended up hopping on one leg. So what did Andre do? Did he attack the leg? NOPE. Instead he took down O’Malley against his corner’s wishes (and you could very audibly hear them yelling for him to let O’Malley up). The entire round took place on the ground and won via decision. Had Andre allowed O’Malley to stand, the referee would have seen that O’Malley was injured and would have stopped the fight giving Andre the win. Instead he wrestled himself into a loss.

    - Dana White continues to claim that the winner of Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov will be the undisputed UFC Lightweight Champion despite still NOT stripping Conor McGregor of the title.

    - Bellator MMA has signed Mirko “Cro Cop” Filopovic to a contract. He will debut at Bellator 200 in London on May 25th against Roy Nelson. Since leaving UFC, Cro Cop is 5 – 0.

    - Jon Fitch makes his Bellator MMA debut on May 12th against Paul Daley. That will be a good one.

    - R.I.P. to Bruce Connal, longtime producer of UFC as he begun working in production back at UFC 17 back in 1998. He was also a producer at ESPN since they first begun as a network back in 1979. He passed away unexpectedly at age 61.

    - Luke Rockhold revealed this week that a 3rd fight against Michael Bisping is being discussed at this time by UFC. Bisping has denied this claim but the rumor is July, possibly for International Fight Week.

    - George St. Pierre revealed that he is interested in fighting against once his health issues are cleared up but only if they are fights that can add to his legacy. He has no interest in fighting either of the Diaz brothers nor is he interesting in fighting Tyrone Woodley for the Welterweight Title. He followed that up by saying that it isn’t because Woodley isn’t a challenging competitor but because it isn’t a mega fight that would build his legacy to something more. By the sound of all of that, there are really NO FIGHTS left for GSP to take other than Conor McGregor but the weight discrepancy is so much that if he wins, it really wouldn’t mean much other than a huge payday. There aren’t any “super fights” for him especially with Anderson Silva soon to be forced into retirement due to drug test failures.

    - Bellator is working on a Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva fight. That doesn’t excite me.

UFC 223 is on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 from Brooklyn New York and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE: Tony Ferguson © vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
  • UFC WOMEN’S STRAWWEIGHT TITLE: Rose Namajunas © vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk
  • Anthony Pettis vs. Michael Chiesa
  • Brandon Moreno vs. Ray Borg
  • UFC 224 is on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 from Rio De Janerio Brazil and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC WOMEN’S BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE: Amanda Nunes © vs. Raquel Pennington
  • Kelvin Gastelum vs. Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza
  • Vitor Belfort vs. Lyoto Machida
  • Glover Teixeira vs. Volkhan Oezdemir
  • UFC 225 is on Saturday, June 9th, 2018 from Chicago Illinois and the line-up is as follows:

  • Alistair Overeem vs. Curtis Blaydes
  • C.M. Punk vs. TBD
  • Claudia Gadelha vs. Carla Esparza
  • Joseph Benavidez vs. Sergio Pettis
  • UFC 226 is on Saturday, July 7th, 2018 from Las Vegas Nevada and the line-up is as follows:

    - THIS LINK is for LIFE. Thank you soldiers. WELCOME HOME BLOG.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week: F*ck this kid. He should not be enjoying his stay, AT ALL.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 1: Pretty big news story if this can be proven to be true. I always liked unsolved mysteries like this one. Always curious to find out the truth as to what really happened. This is a huge step towards piecing that puzzle together.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 2: WTF?!?!?!?!?!? I mean I am all for experimenting and find myself as a pretty sexual and open person but dude, common sense bro. WTF?!?!?!?!

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 3: I legit cannot believe my own eyes reading this story. Seriously, this is happening in Florida. Local cops are fearful about entering a school with an active shooter meanwhile two SWAT TEAM MEMBERS enter the school to engage and are suspended because they didn’t tell their supervisors they were responding. What kind of a f*cking world are we living in???

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 4: I don’t like where this story is heading. Weird.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 5: Psychopath. Some real sick people out here in the world.

    - 49 Days until “Avengers: Infinity War” which has been revealed as The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s longest film to date surpassing “Captain America: Civil War” with a runtime of two hours and thirty six minutes. WOW!!!

    - After opening in China today at $26 million with an expected $75 - $80 million opening weekend in China, Black Panther is expected to surpass the $1 BILLION worldwide gross this weekend. Impressive.

    - Season 2 of Marvel’s “Jessica Jones” begun yesterday on Netflix. I am so used to shows debuting on a Friday for Netflix that I completely forgot. Had I remembered, I could have been 6 episodes in by now. Instead, I will start later today.

    - Season 2 of Luke Cage debuts on June 22nd on Netflix.

    - Tonight’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” celebrates their 100th episode and while last week’s episode was a game changer for the team, this episode I have it on good authority is a “GAME CHANGER” for the rest of the series. So it should be a great one.

    - In sad news for me, Toys R Us, which closed 180 stores since September due to filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, may be shutting down completely. They filed for bankruptcy in September citing lower than normal sales due to Amazon and Walmart under the guise that those 180 they would make up the sales over the Christmas holiday. They didn’t. They still struggled and are likely going to close for good and undergo liquidation.

    - I watched Disney/Pixar’s “Coco” this past weekend. With the exception of Cars 2 and The Good Dinosaur, has Pixar made any other bad films? They have a f*cking awesome track record of delivering. Coco was AWESOME.

    - Warner Brothers using their brains for once, with the announcement that Marvel is moving the Infinity Wars release up a week from May 4th to April 27th, WB decided to move Dwayne Johnson’s “Rampage” film from April 20th to April 13th as they can have some breathing room before being crushed by the Avengers. Smart thinking.

    - Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins confirmed that they have cast actress Kristen Wiig as the villainous “Cheetah” for Wonder Woman 2.

    - Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed that “Terminator 6” will begin filming this summer. For those not in the know, it is a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

    - So the hit film franchise “Bad Boys” which starred Will Smith and Martin Lawrence is getting a television spinoff for NBC starring Gabrielle Union reprising her role as Martin Lawrence’s DEA sister Sydney Burnett in Bad Boys 2. It has been revealed that her partner will be played by Jessica Alba in her return to television for the first time since 2002’s ending of “Dark Angel”. Union will now be a police detective as she has left the DEA and will be partnered with Alba who is an army veteran that joined the police force following a decade in Iraq and Afghanistan and is now also dealing with raising 2 pre-teen step kids along with her police work.

    - Netflix’s “House of Cards” revealed that they are now returning in the FALL instead of the summer as years past. The season will also be 8 episodes instead of 13 and will NOT feature Kevin Spacey at all.

    - Maybe because I was tired and it was late and I fell asleep a few times so had to rewind and watch stuff again while watching cause I dosed off but boy did the Walking Dead suck this week or what? Super lame follow up to Carl’s death. I did enjoy seeing Negan’s reaction to it but otherwise, ugh.

    - In upsetting television news, actresses Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew (Dr. Arizona Robbins & Dr. April Kepner respectively) have been let go from ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” for creative purposes. A shame.

    - Longtime director and writer David Chase revealed that he is moving ahead with a prequel FEATURE FILM for his HBO smash hit “The Sopranos”. The show will take place during the New Jersey race riots of the 1960’s and will feature the rise to power of the Soprano family lead by Johnny Soprano (Tony’s dad) and Junior Soprano (Uncle Junior).

    - Director Jon Favreau has been tapped to write and produce the 1st ever LIVE ACTION Star Wars TV series for the Disney streaming app released next year.
