By Matt Dawgs Apr 20, 2018 - 8:07 AM print

T.G.I.F. with Matt Dawgs: #442

Good day to you all and welcome to We Want Insanity. I am your host for today, Matt Dawgs and this is my column. Today is the end of the work week and the time to look back at all the goings-on over the past seven days as I wrap it up with a bow and spout it out bit by bit. Buckle up. Enjoy the ride.

IMPORTANT MATT NOTE:: I am hoping that you readers have taken the time to lend a hand and donated to the JAIDAN STRONG cause for me. I’d really appreciate it if you did; as little as $5 can go a long way. If not, it isn’t a big deal but please at least SHARE THE LINK. I get that finances can be tough for some but taking the time to share a link via your social media doesn’t cost a dime. I’d appreciate it greatly as one of your friends or family members may be able to help out. Thanks.

BONUS MATT NOTE: It is a sad, sad day for the wrestling community as the seemingly immortal Bruno Sammartino passed away on Wednesday at the age of 82. According to his family, he had been battling a myriad of undisclosed health problems for the past few months. Prior to that, he had been the picture of health at his age still lifting heavy weights and always in good spirits. Sammartino was the face of the WWE in the 60’s and 70’s under Vincent J. McMahon and became a WWE television announcer during the early days of WWE’s expansion under Vincent K. McMahon when Hulk Hogan was becoming the face of the company. He had a falling out with McMahon which saw him exiled from the company for many years despite being one of the biggest draws in the history of the business.

OFFICIAL WWE OBITUARY for Bruno.

- Madison Square Garden also paid tribute to Bruno with his face on the Marquee for the entire day. Bruno sold out MSG more than anyone else in any genre of business in New York.

Also passing away recently with no specific date given was longtime wrestler/manager #1 Paul Jones. Most of you readers are going to have no clue who he is but it is a sad week for wrestling with all of these passings.

MATT'S DAWG NOTE: James Guttman is the Dad of Hi Blog! I'm Dad.

WWE NEWS AND NOTES:

- SUPERSTAR SHAKE UP!!!! It has come and gone and it did great ratings for WWE. I hope that they can capitalize on the changes and make new and bigger stars with the changes in scenery. Especially over on Smackdown now that Samoa Joe is there alongside A.J. Styles, Daniel Bryan and Shinsuke Nakamura. There is a ton of potential for some excellent matches.

The entire list of switches is as follows:

TO RAW:

  • Jinder Mahal
  • Sunil Singh
  • Sameer Singh
  • Ruby Riott
  • Liv Morgan
  • Sarah Logan
  • Kevin Owens
  • Sami Zayn
  • Zack Ryder
  • Breezango
  • Natalya
  • Mojo Rawley
  • Dolph Ziggler
  • Baron Corbin
  • Mike Kanellis
  • The Ascension
  • Bobby Roode
  • Chad Gable
  • Drew McIntyre
  • TO SMACKDOWN LIVE:

  • The Miz
  • Jeff Hardy
  • Mandy Rose
  • Sonya Deville
  • Samoa Joe
  • Big Cass
  • Asuka
  • Luke Gallows
  • Karl Anderson
  • Cesaro
  • Sheamus
  • R-Truth
  • Eric Young
  • Alexander Wolfe
  • Killian Dain
  • Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas
  • Zelina Vega
  • - Obviously the biggest moves are Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, The Miz, Bobby Roode, Jeff Hardy and Asuka. Everyone else who moved are just lateral moves meaning that they are going to be on the same level on RAW that they were over on Smackdown. The above mentioned names are going to likely get pushed a little more unless the flounder, which they won’t.

    - Joe can finally get a fresh start and not be saddled being second fiddle to Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman. There is zero reason for him to NOT be the guy over on Smackdown and his promo work on both RAW and Smackdown this week was out of this world. He has “IT” written all over him. The money is always in the chase so him as champion with both A.J. and Bryan chasing is GOLD.

    - The NXT call ups of SaniTy, Andrade “Cien” Almas with Zelina and Drew McIntyre are going to get pushes right off the bat and it is sink or swim time for them. McIntyre is already handicapped and has an uphill battle being saddled with Dolph Ziggler since he will immediately be looked upon as a mid-card act.

    - By the way, how long before they just call Bobby Lashley, “Lashley” and lose the first name? You can’t have two Bobby’s on the roster. It confuses the fans. If they are both Bobby, how are they going to know which one is Bobby Lashley and which one is Bobby Roode? So difficult.

    - I don’t think anyone cares that Jinder Mahal was moved to RAW. Actually don’t think that anyone cares about him period.

    - The Miz getting sent to Smackdown is HUGE because he and Daniel Bryan are going to KILL IT when they have their feud. This is an incredible opportunity for the Miz and this will keep Bryan out the title picture for a few months before putting him in the main event with A.J. or Shinsuke.

    - Even though Jeff Hardy won the U.S. title and then moved it back to Smackdown; that doesn’t mean that the title will remain there and it does not mean that RAW will keep the I.C. title. Remember that Jinder Mahal issued his rematch clause for the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia and Miz is in a 4 way ladder match with Seth Rollins defending against Finn Balor, Miz and Samoa Joe. It is possible that Jinder will recapture the title and that either Miz or Joe can win the I.C. title and thus both belts switch brands.

    - Natalya was moved over to RAW because she is the next opponent in line for Ronda Rousey. She and Rousey have done extensive training together and she can walk Rousey through a one on one match.

    - By the way, hell of a way to kill off Sonya Deville’s “MMA Gimmick” on Monday. I’m certainly NOT saying she should have got one over on Ronda. But….why put her in that spot to begin with? Why couldn’t Ronda have done that to Mandy instead? You bring up Sonya and give her an MMA gimmick and then have Ronda run through her in three seconds thus signifying that Sonya is 2nd rate. Don’t get me wrong, compared to Ronda she is, but why highlight it? You could have built her up as an “MMA” star and then book a match down the road where Ronda kills her. Throw away segment on RAW? Dumb.

    - While I get having to fill out the roster, I don’t like the fact that just because The Riott Squad moved to RAW, you had to send Absolution to Smackdown. Now would have been the perfect opportunity to split people up. Sonya could have went to Smackdown leaving Mandy Rose behind. You also could have moved Sarah Logan to RAW and kept Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan on Smackdown.

    - Drew McIntyre on the main roster excites me. He has improved SO MUCH since his last WWE run and could make a major impact in the main event picture.

    - Drew McIntyre paired with Dolph Ziggler DOES NOT excite me. This means he will be solidified as a mid-card act and not get the top level run he deserves. Not only that, but he was over as a babyface in NXT so they bring him to the main roster as a heel? What?

    - Corey Graves on commentary Monday: “The Bullet Club is for everyone.” How much furniture do you think Vince ended up throwing after that? He absolutely meant Balor Club but it was a slip of the tongue. Either way, they couldn’t have been happy with it.

    - Big Cass moving to Smackdown is a good deal. WWE is and always has been high on him. By the looks of it, they are likely going to feud him with Bryan which is an excellent way for him to get “on the job” training. My only fear is that he isn’t the most skilled worker on the roster and it likely isn’t as safe for Bryan to work with someone that big and strong who is still learning.

    - I do hope that by interacting him with Bryan leads to him aligning with Miz. Miz is better with people around him to be his lackey’s/thugs.

    - Oh, before I forget, Big Cass was out of action for eight months while Drew McIntyre was out for five months. McIntrye comes back looking like he has a body sculpted out of granite and Cass comes back looking exactly the same as when he left. Are there no gyms where Cass lives? Did Carmella keep the gym membership in the break up? What the hell dude? You had 8 months to get in shape.

    - I hope Chad Gable gets a singles opportunity finally but with that being said, I have a feeling we are going to see him get paired with Jason Jordan again as soon as Jordan returns. He is medically cleared to return by the way.

    - Wait a second, so Asuka wasn’t on Smackdown already? I thought her challenging for Charlotte’s title put her on the brand? Or was it only if she won?

    - Congrats to R-Truth for still being employed. That being said, at his age with the amount of mileage on his body and the amount of misuse of his character, there is ZERO CHANCE he is going to get any sort of serious push. He is the resident comedy character on Smackdown now.

    - We have to be getting “No Speak Engrish” shirts no?

    - Roman Reigns on RAW on Monday told Brock Lesnar that “This time it is different because it is in a steel cage.” Roman does realize that Brock Lesnar is a World Champion of FIGHTING IN F*CKING CAGES RIGHT?!?!?!?! Like in what world does Roman Reigns have a better shot at beating a f*cking cage fighter then he does in a regular ring?

    - 6 years later and a “Wrestlemania moment”, John Cena and Nikki Bella have announced that they have split up by releasing a joint statement. They said: “After much contemplation and six years of being together, Nikki Bella and John Cena announced today their decision to separate as a couple. While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives.”

    - Now of course, I would NEVER put it past WWE for this to be a work/angle for Total Bellas! However I don’t think it is. I believe it to be legit unless of course they get back together in the season finale of the show. I know the show starts on May 20th so we will see but this coming season was set to be focused on the wedding planning and the actual wedding was supposed to be filmed on May 5th in Mexico. One would assume that the break-up has to be the focus of the show now no? if they didn’t film the breakup then it is even worse because they are going to have to act it out again and Nikki isn’t taking it as easily as the above statement makes it seem.

    - By all of the press coming out of this in the gossip magazines, it is obvious that Cena is the one who broke off the relationship as Nikki Bella’s publicist is working OVERTIME in order to spin this with her as the victim and blaming Cena for doing the whole engagement/wedding out of pity and not wanting to actually get married, etc. Cena on the other hand is just sitting there and taking it meaning she is legit hurt over this and he is the one who pulled the trigger.

    - Cena, instead of having his publicist strike back has just been posting subliminal messages via his social media accounts with such gems as: “Hardship, loss and humility are extremely difficult waters to navigate, but perseverance through them builds a strength to withstand anything life throws your way.” and this one as well: “Sometimes we must bare the burden of shame and judgment to protect and give to the ones we love.” and that absolutely shows that he knows she is venting and that he feels like he isn’t the bad guy in all this but is taking it because he knows she is hurt by this. They had tried to keep things private by releasing a joint statement but in the end, Nikki is going in on him.

    - Lots of stuff over the weekend involving Rusev and fans being made to believe that he was receiving his release or on the outs with WWE. As it turns out, this has all been a work. Nothing is going on. The reason for the change in Saudi Arabia was due to Rusev calling Undertaker old on TMZ and Michelle McCool complaining about it. That has since been resolved and WWE announced on Monday that Rusev would be back to facing Taker again in the casket match and Jericho will be in the Rumble match itself.

    - Jericho was disappointed he won’t be working with Taker but said in an interview that it happens in the business and things change on a moment’s notice so he gets it. He also confirmed that he will NOT be working Summerslam this year and that he is DONE with New Japan. He noted that he would in fact work with them again if he was asked as he had a blast but they just couldn’t come to terms on more dates so as of now, their relationship has ended.

    - While as of now, the plan is to limit Daniel Bryan’s house show schedule, he will be working the upcoming European Tour against Miz in May.

    - Brock Lesnar returns to RAW on Monday to hype his Saudi Arabia match against Roman Reigns.

    - The Parkland Shooting in Florida is now forgotten by other world news as Apollo is back to being Apollo Crews.

    - Crews wasn’t the only one who had a name change this week as apparently someone decided that Harper and Rowan could have first names again as they were called Luke Harper and Eric Rowan.

    - Dean Ambrose is being advertised for the current ongoing tour of South Africa that the RAW brand is currently on. It is interesting because he was pulled from all Wrestlemania weekend activities that he was promoted for including Axxess.

    - WWE has apparently re-hired “Big” John Gabruick to the company. He was beat known for being the talent liaison on Tough Enough during the MTV incarnation of the show before leaving and joining TNA Impact in a management position. He was let go from TNA when the new management was put in last year.

    - Randy Orton’s tattoo artist, Catherine Alexander has filed a lawsuit against both WWE and2K Sports for using her tattoo work in the 2K18 video game. I hope she realizes that once she tattoos someone, the work is THEIR PROPERTY since they paid for it to be on their bodies and she has no case at all.

    - UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier revealed that he would in fact be interested in transitioning to commentary for WWE once his MMA career is done. He said he loves professional wrestling but cannot see himself learning to wrestle at his age.

    - Despite missing 205 Live and the NXT Tapings last week, Nigel McGuinness is STILL the lead color guy for both shows. He was given the week off as his longtime girlfriend gave birth to their daughter.

    - Candice LaRae made her in-ring NXT debut this week against Zelina Vega who was also making her in-ring debut as well. LaRae submitted her for the win and with Vega going up to Smackdown, it may have been her ONLY NXT Televised match.

    - WWE is apparently in the process of uploading Sunday Night Heat to the WWE Network. This hasn’t been officially announced by the company however the category is now on the Network which wasn’t before.

  • Ring of Honor / New Japan / Lucha Underground / Independent / International News and Notes:

    - Chicago goes “All In” on May 13th as Cody has announced a special “All In” press conference at the Pro Wrestling Tees store at 1:00 pm local time featuring himself, Brandi Rhodes, The Young Bucks, Tessa Blanchard, Hangman Page and Marty Scurll. They will announce when tickets will go on sale, additional talent booked, some matches and some surprises. The press conference will stream live on Twitch and Facebook.

    - Ring of Honor has announced that Jushin “Thunder” Liger will be joining the ROH/New Japan “War of the Worlds U.S. tour” in May. No opponents have been named as of yet.

    - There was a locker room fight at last weekend’s ROH show in Pittsburgh which was the first in quite some time, years even. The fight stemmed from some unnamed extra that ended up sitting in Christopher Daniels chair in the locker room when Frankie Kazarian and someone else told him to move. The extra did move eventually but not without talking back first which prompted Flip Gordon to get in his face. They exchanged words and Flip apparently quickly disposed of him. It wasn’t too serious as the extra did not suffer any serious injuries.

    - Former WWE star Rosa Mendes was in the audience for the Pittsburg show and did sit down with ROH management at some point before the show. She lives in the area and has shown interest in returning to wrestling. The show was a television tapings and taped several episodes.

    - One of the main angles of the taping saw Bully Ray get “fired” from his management position and he announced he was returning as a wrestler.

    - With Chris Jericho, you never know where the lined is blurred and what is true and what is work. He is claiming however that despite his great time working with Kenny Omega, he is no longer working with New Japan as “It just didn’t work out” and he would be happy to go back there and do something again but as of now, their business relationship is finished. That sucks to hear but sometimes it is what it is.

    - Despite still negotiating with WWE and a contract becoming imminent, Rey Mysterio has agreed to work an AAA show on June 3rd. No opponent has been named yet. This is fairly big news because Konnan is Rey’s agent and no chance Rey goes back to AAA without Konnan’s blessing which means that he could be coming back as well. AAA has also come to an agreement to end their feud with Pentagon and Fenix over their names and they are now allowed to use them moving forward. Both close to Konnan as well so it seems like that relationship has been mended. The beef began when Konnan was ousted as booker for AAA and a ton of talent left with him to the Crash promotion over two years ago. A lot of that talent is slowing coming back to AAA and being advertised on upcoming shows in Tijuana which has been Crash/Konnan country for the past two years.

    - Even though he pulled out of all Wrestlemania weekend bookings and said he was done with wrestling, Rich Swann appeared at CZW’s show Best of the Best tournament and is back to taking independent bookings. According to someone in attendance, he didn’t get an incredible reaction however he was not jeered by the crowd and there were no chants regarding his domestic violence incident involving his wife from several months ago.

    - PWG is running two of their finals shows in Reseda California this weekend with the final show taking place on May 25th. This weekend will be the Young Bucks FINAL show in the building TONIGHT that helped make them household names as they have a booking on May 25th for New Japan and therefore will not make that show. Tonight they take on PWG tag team champions Matt Riddle and Jeff Cobb and Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz in a three way.

    - Thoughts and prayers are still with LuFisto as she had her operation to remove cervical cancer on Tuesday. She is continuing her bookings as she is scheduled to wrestle for Shine on April 27th. Guess not much of a recovery time is needed? Then again, she also has an extremely high tolerance for pain if you’ve seen any of her matches. Like, REAL HIGH.

TNA/GLOBAL FORCE IMPACT WRESTLING NEWS and NOTES:

    - Impact got a small dose of good news this week when they revealed that they have renewed their deal with Spike U.K. to continue airing in the U.K. as their future was in doubt.

    - Tyrus is once again gone from Impact Wrestling. He and Impact officials have had some sort of creative disagreement.

    - Impact tapes their television next week following the Redemption PPV and will be fully taped through June 21st. So expect some new Impact news in next week column coming out of TV including new debuts and departures, title changes, etc.

    - While likely an angle or done on purpose with permission, Sami Callihan created a HUGE welt on the head of former WCW star Kevin Sullivan on an independent show recently and is boasting about it via social media. Either Sullivan asked for it or it was a legit accident but either way, I don’t think this is the road Callihan wants to go down with his career because angle or not, people are going to start to sh*t on him for being reckless.

IMPACT REDEMTION PPV is THIS SUNDAY from Orlando Florida and the line-up is as follows:

  • IMPACT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Austin Aries © vs. Pentagon vs. Fenix
  • X-DIVISION TITLE: Matt Sydal © vs. Petey Williams
  • IMPACT TAG TEAM TITLES: LAX © (Santana & Ortiz) vs. Eli Drake & Scott Steiner
  • KNOCKOUTS TITLE: Allie © vs. Su Yung
  • HOUSE OF HARDCORE MATCH: OVE (Dave Crist/Jake Crist/Sami Callihan) vs. Tommy Dreamer/Moose/Eddie Edwards
  • Brian Cage vs. Taiji Ishimori vs. DJ Z vs. El Hijo Del Fantasma vs. Trevor Lee vs. Dezmond Xavier
  • Aerostar vs. Drago
  • MMA News and Notes:

    - While not finalized as of yet, according to Variety, UFC is close to a deal being final between both Fox and ESPN for shared rights of their programming. ESPN is offering approximately $180 million per year and Fox will be upping their previous deal to $200 million a year (up from $100 million per). This would give UFC a television rights package of $380 million which is a significant increase from their previous deal with Fox. When WME-IMG purchased UFC from the Fertittas’, they were targeting a new rights deal of $400 million so they are in the ballpark. ESPN will air 15 live events per year on their new ESPN streaming platform that launched last week. Fox will retain the number of shows and replays it currently has and when it is all said and done, Fox Sports Net, etc. will be under the same umbrella as ESPN anyway since they were purchased by Disney a few months back. As for UFC Fight Pass, while they currently still show a few Fight Pass exclusive shows, the streaming app is essentially nothing more than a tape library and all future prelims, etc. would air on ESPN or FS.

    - Frankie Edgar is fighting this weekend in the main event of a FS-1 show against Cub Swanson which is a SUPER QUICK turnaround following his 1st career knockout loss at the hands of Brian Ortega just a few weeks ago. Best of luck to him.

    - UFC Welterweight Champion Tyrone Woodley revealed that he expects to be back from his knee injury in late July or sometime in August.

    - UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier revealed that he would in fact be interested in becoming a full time commentator for WWE once he retires. He said he loves professional wrestling but cannot see himself training to become a pro wrestler at this age.

    - Also, congrats to Cormier as he was named head wrestling coach for a local high school where he lives. He revealed that he is giving his salary to his assistant coaches thus doing it for free.

    - WWE Stars Becky Lynch and Dolph Ziggler attended the UFC on Fox show last weekend in Arizona as they were there to show support for Lynch’s boyfriend Luke Sanders. Sanders won his fight by unanimous decision.

    - Following his loss to Alex Oliveira, Carlos Condit revealed in an interview that it may be time for him to start thinking about his next career noting that while he loves fighting, his time in the octagon may have passed.

    - Nothing is on the horizon yet but Rory MacDonald had called out Ben Askren about a fight to which Askren replied “Ask your boss”. So it is possible we may be seeing Askren in Bellator MMA in the future.

UFC 224 is on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 from Rio de Janeiro Brazil and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC WOMEN’S BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE: Amanda Nunes © vs. Raquel Pennington
  • Kelvin Gastelum vs. Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza
  • Vitor Belfort vs. Lyoto Machida
  • Glover Teixeira vs. Volkhan Oezdemir
  • UFC 225 is on Saturday, June 9th, 2018 from Chicago Illinois and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE: Robert Whitaker © vs. Yoel RomeroUFC INTERIM WELTERWEIGHT TITLE: Rafael dos Anjos vs. Colby Covington
  • C.M. Punk vs. Mike Jackson
  • Alistair Overeem vs. Curtis Blaydes
  • Holly Holm vs. Megan Anderson
  • Claudia Gadelha vs. Carla Esparza
  • Joseph Benavidez vs. Sergio Pettis
  • UFC 226 is on Saturday, July 7th, 2018 from Las Vegas Nevada and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Stipe Miocic © vs. UFC LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION Daniel Cormier ©

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week: Could you imagine losing 45 YEARS of your life? 45 YEARS?!?!?!

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 1: This story is crazy. America’s racism has never been more clear as I’ve seen a ton of people hanging out in Starbucks without ordering a goddamn thing.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 2: Starbucks batting 1.000 with the racism this week huh?

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 3: It is a damn shame that there is a bootleg drug dealer out in the world that is the reason Prince is dead. It is also a shame that Prince, a multi-millionaire had to buy vicodins off the street instead of having a doctor on his payroll that could get them for him. Shame all around.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 4: Some people could be real idiots. “Haha, very funny prank if I shove you into the street as a moving bus is coming. LOL’s for days”. Just imagine if she fell an inch more? Her head would have certainly been crushed by the tire. WTF?

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 5: A terrible tragedy. Kudos to the heroes who tried to save her and especially for the pilot for landing the plane in the face of danger as well as speaking to every passenger on the flight. Southwest is going to get some major sh*t over this.

    - As of now, “Avengers: Infinity War” is currently tracking to a $255 million U.S. opening which would make it the biggest opening weekend in MOVIE HISTORY surpassing “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. WOW.

    - The Russo Brothers revealed that Stan Lee has shot his cameos for Infinity War, Ant-Man & The Wasp and Avengers 4 already. With him being in poor health, my assumption is that they will try to film him in a few more during production of Captain Marvel as well.

    - Sebastian Stan (The Winter Solider/Bucky) also revealed a MAJOR SPOILER from Infinity War while doing press for the film. In it, he noted “I was in awe of this one major scene. I can’t really talk about it in detail but there was this one scene with everybody there. I looked around and you see Samuel Jackson, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffe. Everybody.”

    - Congrats to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Gabriel Luna (Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider) as he has been tapped to play the villain Terminator in the upcoming sequel to the franchise. The film will also star Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton as T-800 and Sara Connor respectively. The film will also see James Cameron return to the franchise as an executive producer which is his first attachment to the franchise since “T2: Judgment Day” which this film will be a direct sequel of.

    - Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson just keeps on keeping on. His new film “Rampage” debuted at the number 1 spot in the box office in the WORLD with a haul of $148 million worldwide. I’ll tell you, that guy is gonna be a big star one day. Wow.

    - I am all for continuity to storytelling as you have known by my WWE feelings from time to time. With that being said, The Walking Dead, while sticking to the comic books with their season finale, the season ended very underwhelmingly. TWD passed on an opportunity to stray from the books by having Neegan’s fate be completely different and putting a decisive ending to the show. Especially with Carl who is a major part of the comics now gone. TWD could have went down a different path and started of fresh next season. I just felt like everything was wrapped up way too neatly in a bow.

    - Fans apparently felt the same about this season of TWD as the season finale was the shows 2nd lowest rating…EVER.

    - With the success of “Ready Player One”, director Steven Spielberg has become the first director in film history to gross over $10 BILLION at the box office. Congrats to him.

    - Spielberg has also been tapped by WB/DC to helm the superhero film “Blackhawk”.

    - Longtime “Arrow” showrunner Marc Guggenheim has stepped down from the role and will be replaced by Beth Schwarz next season. Schwarz has been with the show since season one where she was an assistant writer. Guggenheim is actually leaving the show to work on other projects and officially will be an executive consultant.

    - Actress Lynda Carter, best known for her role as Wonder Woman on the original television series is in talks to co-star opposite Gal Gadot in the Wonder Woman sequel.

    - Netflix has announced that the 2nd season of G.L.O.W. is set to debut on June 29th where all 10 episodes will be available to stream.

    - I didn’t see Netflix’s “Seven Seconds” but while I heard it is a decent show, it has been cancelled and will not return for the 2nd season.
