T.G.I.F. with Matt Dawgs: #447

Good day to you all and welcome to We Want Insanity. I am your host for today, Matt Dawgs and this is my column. Today is the end of the work week and the time to look back at all the goings-on over the past seven days as I wrap it up with a bow and spout it out bit by bit. Buckle up. Enjoy the ride.

IMPORTANT MATT NOTE:: I am hoping that you readers have taken the time to lend a hand and donated to the JAIDAN STRONG cause for me. I’d really appreciate it if you did; as little as $5 can go a long way. If not, it isn’t a big deal but please at least SHARE THE LINK. I get that finances can be tough for some but taking the time to share a link via your social media doesn’t cost a dime. I’d appreciate it greatly as one of your friends or family members may be able to help out. Thanks.

BONUS MATT NOTE: James Guttman is the Dad of Hi Blog! I'm Dad.

WWE NEWS AND NOTES:

- Usually I would open the WWE section with the main news of the week such as the new television deal or a major signing or a title change or Daniel Bryan’s return from injury. If not, I would start with RAW thoughts leading with the main angle/event of the show. Not today. Today, I plan on talking about NIA JAX. Why Nia Jax you ask? Simple. I am starting with Nia Jax because WWE spent somewhere between the last 6 – 8 months of slowly burning an angle turning Nia Jax from a monster heel to a sympathetic babyface in order for her to have her crowning achievement of defeating her “best friend” Alexa Bliss at Wrestlemania in order to capture the WWE title. Bliss would be featured as a “mean girl/bully” who was just using Jax against Jax’s knowledge. Jax successfully turned babyface and since winning the title has been an advocate against bullying. It has become her character. Two weeks ago at the NBC Universal Upfronts, Nia Jax made a public challenge to Ronda Rousey. After being hesitant, Rousey accepted the friendly challenge due to some prodding by Charlotte Flair. So what happens this week on Raw? NIA JAX IS A F*CKING HEEL!!!! NO EXPLANATION. NO HEEL TURN. NO REASONING. NO NOTHING. They just made Jax a heel out of the f*cking blue and she destroys some poor jobber while cutting a heel promo on Rousey and then claiming that she isn’t afraid of a f*cking arm bar because she is never going to tap. Nevermind the fact that in the build up to Wrestlemania, Jax tapped out to an arm bar at the hands of Asuka on national TV; the same arm bar that Rousey uses as her finisher. This is 100% “TNA-like” in that WWE is just choosing to fit pieces where they want to fit them with no rhyme or reason so long as it is convenient to the story. I bet you that following the match, Jax will be a babyface again and pretend like none of her heel traits ever existed. She will just be “good”. It is mind blowing that in 2018, with the majority of the crowd knowing about wrestling that they cannot try to pit a babyface vs. a babyface against each other. So f*cking DUMB!!!!

- The terms of the new television deals for WWE have been released. NBCU will be giving WWE $265 million a year, up from the $160 they were getting for RAW rights while Smackdown will remain LIVE and will air on Friday on FOX for $205 million per year. So WWE will be getting $470 million a year for their television rights vs. $130 they have been getting for them. The Fox deal came at the last minute and involved Rupert Murdoch himself who met with Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, George Barrios and Michelle Wilson. Vince McMahon was NOT involved in landing the Fox deal. Murdoch noted to them that NBCU was “embarrassed” by the WWE product where Fox wouldn’t be. Fox would embrace the product and will promote the show across all of their channels on all nights of the week.

- RAW was a pretty boring show this week with nothing really noteworthy taking place.

- I really don’t think it is beneficial for Balor to constantly mention that he was the first ever Universal Champion and never lost the title because it highlights the fact that he hasn’t succeeded since he has come back from injury as well as the fact that the Universal Championship was crowned two years ago meaning he hasn’t done anything noteworthy in two years.

- I do give credit for building Balor to the point where it looked like he was on the verge of beating Strowman only to have the rug taken out from under him by Kevin Owens. When he hit the “coup de grace” and then went for a 2nd, the crowd bought he was actually going to win and you could hear them liven up.

- Elias is so great as a heel and can turn the crowd into booing him when they so desperately want to cheer him.

- Seth Rollins has become the workhorse of RAW. He constantly out performs everyone on the roster week in and week out. He got a damn good match out of Jinder Mahal on Monday.

- The Seth Rollins vs. Jinder Mahal match was the first time the two have wrestled since December 2012 in a rematch of the NXT Title Tournament final which Rollins won crowing him the first ever NXT Champion. Rollins was the FCW Champion and the title was vacated in July 2012 with Rollins winning the tournament over Mahal in August in the finals.

- Did Nia Jax make Ronda Rousey look like a p*ssy or what? She completely dismissed her, talked down to her and then left her standing there dumbfounded while she walked away. Who booked this sh*t? Ronda should have snapped on Jax or at least gotten the last word instead of looking like a jabronie.

- It is not the first time but now that I will point it out to you, you’ll notice moving forward but each week Michael Cole adds slight jabs regarding Matt Hardy, his character and his family. It never fails. It all started with that apology to fans for what they were about to see when the Ultimate Deletion aired. It is like clockwork.

- I am happy for Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel because of all the work they do, they deserve something. But that being said, the “B” Team is pure comedy crap and really makes the tag team division look like complete sh*t.

- I am hoping Bobby Roode turns heel because he is terrible as a babyface and has been dead in the water for months now. He is still put in a strong position on RAW including the fact that he is in the MITB match but he is super stale. A heel turn would be big for him.

- You guys do see the Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler vs. Chad Gable stuff is leading to Gable needing help and said help is likely going to be the returning Jason Jordan right?

- So Mickie James is a babyface now? Is she no longer down with Alexa Bliss? Was she magically turned since Nia Jax magically turned heel and they needed to even out the face/ heel sides? Will she turn heel again if they turn Jax after MITB?

- Ruby Riott had an awesome Monday and she could be a big star based on her look alone. It helps that she can deliver in the ring when necessary.

- Also really weird that they put this match in the main event position. Not that it mattered since it was against Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals as well as the game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals. RAW got their lowest rating since 2016 with a 2.4 rating.

- Samoa Joe may be the best promo guy on the WWE roster today. He cuts amazing heel promos every single week. I really wish WWE would give him a run with the title. He can carry a brand.

- On one hand, I was extremely looking forward to Daniel Bryan vs. Samoa Joe on Smackdown this week. It would have been their first match against each other since 2006 in Ring of Honor. That being said, I am also relieved that WWE decided to save that singles match and instead add Big Cass into the mix. Their first singles match shouldn’t be a throwaway match on Smackdown. They should build to it and it should be a feud, not a one off.

- Heel Nakamura is so tremendous.

- Dance contest. WTF?

- When is the New Day going to announce who is participating in the MITB match? It has to be Kofi no? It is a goddam ladder match. Kofi is the only one who makes sense.

- Carmella = Heel 101. She claims she is the best women wrestler of all time and prefaced that by asking how many Money In The Bank matches did Trish Stratus or Lita ever win? SOLID F*CKING GOLD!!!!

- I don’t know if it is hesitation or he is still not 100% or what but Big Cass, while he wasn’t that good to begin with, is significantly worse since coming back from injury. His work is just the drizzling sh*ts since he got back.

- Cedric Alexander defending the Cruiserweight Title on 205 Live against Buddy Murphy may be one of, if not THE best match on WWE television this year. WOW.

- As of right now, Brock Lesnar is not expected back until Summerslam in August meaning he will NOT be defending the title at Extreme Rules in July. There is no word on when his current short term contract expires but since he will be around for Summerslam, it does not appear that he will be fighting for UFC in 2018. He would need to submit his name back into the USADA testing pool by June 30th in order to fight at the New Year’s Weekend show in December. Otherwise it will be in 2019 that he fights. There obviously will be a bidding war with WWE and UFC once again since both now have financial windfalls coming to them with their new TV rights deals. So once again, Brock Lesnar is in the right place at the right time.

- Speaking of Brock, on Monday June 11th, Brock will surpass C.M. Punk as the longest reigning WWE Champion of our generation with that being the 435th day of his current reign.

- WWE announced that Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will be making an appearance at the WWE U.K. Night 1 event at Royal Albert Hall in London on June 18th. That will be the FINALS of the U.K. King of the Ring tournament which will determine who takes on U.K. Champion Pete Dunne on night 2 on June 19th. Night 1 will feature champion Pete Dunne teaming with Tyler Bate and Trent Seven against the Undisputed Era (Adam Cole/Kyle O’Reilly/Roderick Strong)

- Both the semi-finals and finals at Royal Albert Hall on June 18th and 19th respectively will in fact air on the WWE Network.

- Big Cass is set to make his return to Smackdown Live Events this coming weekend. He missed last weekend which lead to further speculation that he is in fact injured.

- Paige referenced Team P.C.B. Holy sh*t, I totally forgot about that. LMAO. WOW. Talk about a throwback. Damn was that a stupid name for a stable or what?

- John Cena went into detail about HIS MANIA MATCH with the Undertaker and why he did what he was asked without any complaints. He also noted that the locker room is full of complacency and disdain.

- Io Shirai is allegedly once again coming to WWE. She signed at the same time as Kairi Sane however had her offer rescinded due to failing her medicals due to having some heart issues show up. Those issues have since been resolved and she has been medically cleared by her doctors in Japan. Her final Stardom date is scheduled for June 17th. Shirai is noted to be the best in ring woman performer in the world and the face of Japan when it comes to women wrestling. Shirai lost her Wonder of Stardom title last Wednesday against Momo Watanabe.

- It is expected for Io Shirai to debut at this year’s Mae Young Classic which is set to take place on August 8th and August 9th at Full Sail University.

- Keith Lee fulfilled his final independent date over the weekend and is set to make his WWE Performance Center debut soon.

- Both Shirai and Lee are set to report to the Performance Center on or around July 16th.

- Also recently signed by WWE is Deonna Purrazzo. That is awesome news as she is a tremendous person as I met her at a Jersey All Pro Wrestling show and she is very talented as an in ring performer. She is also pretty hot.

- Also coming in or expected to at least participate in the Mae Young Classic is Xia Brookside, she is the daughter of current Performance Center trainer Robbie Brookside.

- WWE is eyeing Duke University Heavyweight Jacob Kasper. Kasper is graduating later this month and finished in 4th place in the NCAA tournament losing to eventual heavyweight champion winner Kyle Snyder. Kasper is 6’3 and weighs 230lbs. He has been battling Crohn’s disease for years and fought through the NCAA tournament this year with a flare up of it.

- Thoughts and prayers go out to William Regal. He has not been around WWE since right before Wrestlemania. There were some subliminal comments on social media about him and his health but nothing specific.

- Natalya revealed earlier this week that despite being two of the most popular and talented stars on the roster, both Bayley and Sasha Banks have more than shown her respect as a veteran by always making sure she had first dibs on everything and everything including seats on the tour busses when they are overseas, food in catering and seats on private chartered plans when traveling. Both have noted to her that they look up to her and she more than deserves it since she really was a trend setter and trail blazer to them.

- Why is it that WWE caters to their audience OUTSIDE of the United States? WWE sold out Sumo Hall in Tokyo on July 1st by announcing a main event of A.J. Styles defending the WWE title in a 4-way match against Shinsuke Nakamura, Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe. (Nakamura will be defending if he wins the title at Money in the Bank). This match should be main eventing a WWE PPV.

- The defamation of character trial of Dr. Chris Amann vs. Phil “C.M. Punk” Brooks & Scott “Colt Cabana” Colton began this week after the sides were unable to come to a settlement. Jury selection has been completed and opening arguments were heard as well as the jury listening to all 2 hours of the Colt Cabana podcast were played. Amann was also questioned on the stand and cross examined by the defense. Day two and three featured a ton of witness testimony including referee Jon Cohn, Glen “Kane” Jacobs, Mark Carano, Scott “Colt Cabana” Colton and more. CM Punk testified today and at some point his wife A.J. Mendez-Brooks will take the stand as well as more from Colt Cabana.

- Punk’s shorts were admitted as evidence as Exhibit 117. I cannot make this stuff up.

- I am not going to go into detail on everything that is happening at the trial but Wrestle Zone’s Ross Berman has been doing an excellent job of covering the testimony as he has been in the courtroom and was announced to the court as a wrestling journalist. So head over there and check out his coverage. He has been there since day 1.

- The timing of this going to trial couldn’t be worse for CM Punk as he has his 2nd UFC fight in two weeks and should be in training. I highly doubt that Duke Roofus and his team are in Chicago and training with Punk after court and I don’t think Punk is making the two hour drive each day to train and then come back.

- Former WWE Star Enzo Amore made his triumphant return to the public eye on Monday in Times Square in New York City to interact with fans and to promote HIS NEW SONG titled “Phoenix” which is a double entendre meaning he is rising from the ashes like a Phoenix however it is also the city where the allegations against him were made. It is essentially about his accuser and his he has risen from the ashes to return. It is unlikely he is coming back to the WWE in ANY capacity anytime soon, if at all. Now let me say that Enzo was talented as a character despite his lack of ability. I will give him that. With that being said, Rapping is NOT his forte and should NOT be the avenue that he chooses to go down in his post wrestling career. It is not for him because he is the drizzling sh*ts. My f*cking god is this song awful. “Consensual penis”?? Who would have ever thought that they would hear that saying in a song, EVER?

- Enzo is rapping under the name “Real1”.

- In an interesting note, Enzo is claiming that he was NEVER contacted by police before January 22nd which is when the news broke and WWE was made aware. This absolutely contradicts WWE’s version of the story, which I heard through sources as well, that he was made aware back in October.

- WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan posted a picture of Jackass star Bam Magera and him with the following comment: “Damn Bam, I wish you were still with us. I sure would love to hang out again my brother. Love u miss u. HH”. That was a touching tribute if BAM WERE DEAD?!?!?!?! But he isn’t. Hogan has since deleted the tweet and noted that he mixed up former Jackass Star Ryan Dunn with Bam.

- Um….so THIS STORY is hitting the news cycle for WWE and it isn’t a good one. They absolutely cannot be happy about this especially following the Saudi Arabia stuff. WOW.

  • Ring of Honor / New Japan / Lucha Underground / IMPACT WRESTLING / Independent / International News and Notes:

    - BREAKING NEWS: Former Eastern Championship Wrestling (the original ECW before it became EXTREME) star Chuck Williams a.k.a. The Rockin’ Rebel murdered his longtime wife Stephanie Burtnet-Williams and then committed suicide earlier today in their Pennsylvania home.

    - As expected, New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that the July 7th G-1 Special from San Francisco at the Cow Palace will air LIVE on AXS. The show still hasn’t sold out yet but no matches have been confirmed due to “Dominion” taking place in June. In an effort to boost sales though, when the announcement of the show airing on AXS was made, New Japan did confirm that Kazuchika Okada, Kenny Omega, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Tetsuya Naito and The Young Bucks will ALL be wrestling on the show in some capacity. This show will run directly head to head with UFC 226

    - I was asked why I am not covering the Super Juniors tournament in New Japan right now. In all honesty, it is just WAY TOO MANY matches and shows to watch. While I am sure the matches are excellent, days upon days upon days of shows are just hard to keep up with. I posted stuff about it the past 2 years due to Ricochet/Ospreay and the noise they made with their match ups. I have been reading up on it and have read good things but nothing on that caliber of match.

    - Speaking of Ospreay, I am not sure what this means for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship however Ospreay revealed that he plans on working out of Australia and New Zealand for all of July and August as is his girlfriend Bea Priestley as they are looking for an apartment in one of the countries. Ever since wrestling there for a tour two years ago, Ospreay has wanted to help those countries grow into a hotbed for professional wrestling like the U.S., U.K. and Japan all now are.

    - While in the U.K. for the ROH “Honor United” shows over the weekend, NWA Champion Nick Aldis revealed that he will happily defend his NWA title against Cody on his “All In” show on September 1st provided that Cody it is “title vs. title” meaning that Cody must capture the ROH title before that show in order to challenge for the NWA title. That may predict the main event of the June 29th ROH PPV in Baltimore where Dalton Castle will defend the ROH Title in a three way against Cody and fellow Bullet Club member Marty Scurll. Castle as noted in this column has been plagued by a major back injury which has forced him to cancel some ROH shows. So this may be the point to take the title off of him while he heals up. As I have said before, while ultra-talented and in a great gimmick, Castle hasn’t felt like an ROH Champion as others in his role have in the past.

    - I actually watched “Honor United” on Sunday in Doncaster on the app this weekend with my son and it was a solid show. It wasn’t a blow-away ROH PPV show but it was good. The tour was a success as ROH has already secured their return dates and they will be back in August. They drew almost 1,000 people per show this past weekend.

    - ROH has a television taping in New York this weekend which will finalize all of the matches for the PPV.

    - Joe Hendry from the U.K. will be debuting for Impact at the television tapings this weekend.

    - Eli Drake is likely the latest talent to be out the door on Impact as his contract expires shortly and it doesn’t look like he will be staying around.

    - The plan for Impact right now is to do a few more television tapings so that they are not taped so far ahead. This is absolutely a good thing from a storyline/angle perspective because it will prevent ideas from being screwed up by departing or injured talents. Right now the plan is to tape in 4 week intervals meaning one taping per month. They have been taping 6 – 8 weeks at a time at tapings.

    - In what is going to possibly become one of the biggest stories in the history of Mexico, Rey Fenix who is contracted to AAA and Lucha Underground is expected to work for CMLL in an agreement between the two companies that have been feuding for decades. This coming on the heels of LA Park returning to CMLL after no one expected him to ever return there again. This all stems from new/returning AAA booker Konnan as he has been pushing for ALL GROUPS to work together in order to succeed. That is what got him fired from The Crash promotion because they found out he was talking to AAA. When he was talking to AAA, it wasn’t to go back to them but rather to get them to sit with the Crash and work together which they are now doing. CMLL and AAA working together on a talent exchange would be similar to WWE and WCW allowing talents to work for both shows during the peak of the Monday Night War. This relationship could also open doors for New Japan to work with AAA as they have refused ALL of their talent from even working against people contracted to AAA on independent shows due to their working relationship with CMLL.

    - Jeff Jarrett’s new Global Force Entertainment is looking into acquiring specific wrestling events from around the world and assisting in airing them on FITE TV instead of being a wrestling promotion.

    - Former WWE star Ryback is once again taking independent dates through Bill Behrens. Remember when he was supposed to be a big deal once he left WWE?

    - MLW will be having a show on July 19th in Queens New York at the Melrose Ballroom which I will likely be attending. The main event will be a 40 person “Battle Riot” which is a royal rumble although eliminations can occur by pin fall, submission or over the top rope elimination. The winner will be able to request a title shot at any time they choose.

    - If you are in the New York/New Jersey area this Sunday, NOW YOU CREATE Wrestling will present “Get Rich or Die Tryin” at the BWF arena located at 1123 Close Avenue in the Bronx with a 5:30 pm start time. Appearing on the show are: “El Rey All Day” E.C. Negro, Homicide, Dan Maff, T.J. Marconi, BLK Jeez, “The Infamous” J. George, Afa Jr. and more.

    - Latest Episode of BEING THE ELITE.

    MMA News and Notes:

    - Last weekend was a weird one for UFC as the heavily talked about main event of Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson vs. Darren Till, which was set to be a doozy, was put in jeopardy when Till ended up weighing in at 174.5 lbs. which was 3 lbs. over the welterweight limit including the extra lb. allowance. Till negotiated a deal for forfeit 30% of his purse and bonuses.

    - Till made the agreed upon 188 lbs. at the weigh in the day of the fight and likely stepped into the Octagon well over 200 lbs. He defeated Stephen Thompson by unanimous decision although it was questionable as one judge ruled it 49 – 46 which is so far off what the actual numbers should have been because the fight was significantly closer than that.

    - Major props go out to till because the winner of the fight would be next in line for a Welterweight title fight and following the win, Till noted that he was happy with the win and felt he won but because he missed weight, the next title shot should in fact go to Thompson.

    - Former UFC Middleweight Champion and one of the greatest fighters in company history, Michael Bisping announced his retirement on Monday. Bisping noted that he is banged up with a lot of injuries including still having eye issues that plagued him for the last several years of his career. He noted that he was still contemplating one more fight, ideally against Rashad Evans however he recently ended up by accident watching the 2017 U.K. film “The Journeyman” about an aging boxer who contemplates one final fight for a massive payday in order to secure a home and financial stability for his wife and newborn daughter. He wins the fight and a few days later collapses on his living room floor and goes into a coma. Upon waking up, he suffers from memory loss and a different personality and must recover and put his life back together. It made him reflect on his time fighting for UFC and made him realize that his long term health is significantly more important that that one final payday.

    - Nick Diaz was arrested in Las Vegas on domestic violence charges stemming from an on-again/off-again relationship he has had with a woman there. The woman claims that Diaz has been heavily using cocaine as of late and that he had attacked her. He allegedly slammed her to the ground, breaking her hip in the process along with choking her unconscious. Diaz was picked up by Las Vegas police without incident and was being held in $18,000 bail.

    - Dana White did not get to meet face to face with Conor McGregor as scheduled while in Liverpool for UFC. That isn’t good if they want McGregor to fight in 2018.

    - Khabib Nurmagomedov is targeting September 9th or October 10th for his next fight. Ideally he’d like to fight Conor McGregor or George St. Pierre. Khabib Nurmagomedov is a smart man name dropping them both.

    - It is going to be tough for CM Punk in two weeks as instead of being in training with Roofus Sport, he is in Chicago defending himself in the slander case brought upon by WWE doctor Chris Amann.

    - The upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter will likely be the last. With the switch to ESPN and ESPN+, they won’t have enough time for additional programming and ESPN+ is heavily invested in Dana White’s “Contender” series over TUF. UFC has done 13 seasons of the show to date and the show has created a bunch of talented fighters and stars during its existence.

    - UFC does still plan on having at least 5 Fight Pass exclusive shows under the new streaming deal with ESPN+. ESPN+ streaming also only covers the U.S. so those overseas will be able to stream ESPN+ shows using Fight Pass as well; so essentially Fight Pass isn’t going away.

    - Despite still suing UFC and planning on leaving the promotion when his contract is up, Mark Hunt has been tabbed to replace the suspended Fabricio Werdum in the main event of UFC’s Moscow debut on September 15th.

    - UFC has locked in Madison Square Garden for a November 3rd date which will be a PPV event.

    - Congrats to Sara McMann as she announced that she is 12 weeks pregnant with her fight child.

    - Congrats to Gegard Mousasi as he captured the Bellator MMA Middleweight Championship last weekend at Bellator 200 and then challenged Bellator Welterweight Champion Rory MacDonald to a fight in the future, title for title. MacDonald happily accepted.

    - Go watch the Michael “Venom” Page vs. Dave Rickels fight from that show because it has to be seen to be believed. Rickels just turned around mid-fight and quit out of frustration as he was being dominated by a barrage of punches by Page and yet couldn’t nail a damn thing with each punch he threw.

    - Despite being signed by Bellator as a fighter and as an analyst, Chael Sonnen has a contract with ESPN as an analyst therefore will be doing analyst work for UFC when the deal kicks in.

    - I did not see the Mauro Ranallo documentary on Showtime as I no longer have the Showtime Network as I swapped it for STARZ but I heard it was excellent and I will catch it somewhere soon.

    - Best of luck to Kelvin Gastelum as he debuts as an analyst for UFC tonight in Utica. I am always for good fighters starting second careers as analysts/color commentators because it helps set them up for when they call it a career.

    - MATT NOTE: Last week I noted that “Luke Rockhold has been out of action for OVER a year already as his last UFC fight was on May 28th of 2017 with a knockout win over Glover Teixeira.” That was a typo as I was speaking of Alexander Gustafsson, not Rockhold.

UFC 225 is on Saturday, June 9th, 2018 from Chicago Illinois and the line-up is as follows:

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 5: What in the flying f*ck was wrong with this dog? Jesus.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 6: This is the world we sadly now live in. I don’t know what to think about this anymore. Honest question, how many of you readers NOT from the U.S. are laughing at us?

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 7: The man is an icon. At 95 years old, why can’t they just leave him alone already?

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 8: There is definitely more to this story than meets the eye. Mysterious kidney infection and then not seen in public for almost a month? I think there is something more going on here.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 9: So this is happening in Philadelphia right now. Twitter of all things is causing a young team full of potential to completely implode all because of Bryan Colangelo’s wife.

    - Avengers: Infinity War is expected to hit the $1.95 BILLION mark on Sunday. Inching closer to that magic $2 bullion number. It is officially the 4th highest grossing film of ALL TIME trailing only Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Titanic and Avatar. It is unlikely going to pass any of these films as Force Awakens is sitting comfortably in 3rd place with $2.06 billion and it is definitely not passing Avatar at $2.7 billion.

    - In HOLY F*CKING SH*T NEWS: It is being reported that actor Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) will be departing AMC’s “The Walking Dead” following the upcoming 9th season. His departure will take place early in the season as well as he is only set to appear in 6 episodes of the 16 that are taking place. WOW.

    - AMC has also confirmed that “Better Call Saul” will return for season 4 on August 6th at 9:00 pm ET.

    - Academy Award winner Jamie Fox has been tapped to play the role of “SPAWN” in the Todd McFarlane reboot of the film/comic book movie franchise.

    - “Solo: A Star Wars Story” has become the FIRST Star Wars film since the original trilogy that I did not see on opening weekend. It also BOMBED at the box office making $101 million in the U.S. and a total of $150 million Worldwide. There are not good numbers and cannot make Disney very happy. I will see the film in theaters eventually but was not enthused by the trailers and all of the behind the scenes shakeups that rattled production.

    - Actor Jason Momoa was set to star in the reboot of the cult classic film series “The Crow” but it looks like they are back to the drawing board because he has bowed out from the role as well as the director of the project, Corin Hardy. Momoa has lead people to believe via social media that the project may have been scrapped completely.

    - The tentative title for the Wonder Woman sequel is “WW84” as it is set to take place in 1984 during the Cold War with Russia.
