T.G.I.F. with Matt Dawgs: #448

Good day to you all and welcome to We Want Insanity. I am your host for today, Matt Dawgs and this is my column. Today is the end of the work week and the time to look back at all the goings-on over the past seven days as I wrap it up with a bow and spout it out bit by bit. Buckle up. Enjoy the ride.

IMPORTANT MATT NOTE:: I am hoping that you readers have taken the time to lend a hand and donated to the JAIDAN STRONG cause for me. I’d really appreciate it if you did; as little as $5 can go a long way. If not, it isn’t a big deal but please at least SHARE THE LINK. I get that finances can be tough for some but taking the time to share a link via your social media doesn’t cost a dime. I’d appreciate it greatly as one of your friends or family members may be able to help out. Thanks.

MDJG NOTE: James Guttman is the Dad of Hi Blog! I'm Dad.

BONUS MATT NOTE: Mental Illness is a terrible thing and something that we need seriously addressed in the United States. Earlier this week, we lost two incredible celebrities who added value to society in fashion designer Kate Spade and chef/author/TV show personality Anthony Bourdain both committed suicide just several days apart. Despite their vast fortune and fame, both were apparently battling demons inside them. Between their feelings and their medications and the smiles they both wore as well as the smiles they put on faces, they were both battling issues that eventually convinced them that life was no longer worth living. It is a shame that they felt they had no choice, especially Spade who had to leave a note for her 13 year old daughter reassuring her that it was not her fault. I in the past have always stated that it is a coward’s way out and still find it hard to find sympathy in those who leave behind children but I do understand that not being of sound mind is not always something you can fight. It doesn’t matter if you are in a state of pure happiness and bliss, your mind can play tricks on you and even though you are smiling and laughing and having a good time, at the drop of a dime your brain can shift and convince you that it would be best if you jumped out of a window. Bourdain also has an 11 year old daughter named Ariane.

- Constable of Raw? This is a thing. Baron Corbin of all people was named as the “Constable of Raw” and will be used as a foe for Kurt Angle because I guess WWE is saving Stephanie’s TV appearances. Regardless, why in the world does WWE think that people in 2018 use words like Constable? Why are they so set on creating their own language when it comes to stupid words, phrases and catch phrases?

- By the way, I see it in advance but this whole constable thing is going to be terrible. Corbin isn’t a good choice to fit in this position.

- Elias is awesome. That is all.

- Seth Rollins. I don’t know why WWE doesn’t see it or capitalize on it but he is the hottest he has been in MONTHS and really should just be given the ball. He wasn’t “the guy” when he first turned heel many years ago yet WWE still went with him as the top guy and champion. He eventually developed into a solid main event act. Now however, he is far and away the best guy for the job on the Raw brand. Constant solid matches week after week and the crowd is way into him. He is the most over guy on the RAW brand or a close 2nd to Braun every single week.

- So Elias DDT’s Seth Rollins on a chair in front of a referee and there is no DQ. Interesting.

- Kudos to WWE for managing to figure out that offering free tacos to the crowd if Curt Hawkins won and then having Baron Corbin cause a DQ loss for Hawkins was a great cheap way to get heat on Corbin. I applaud this.

- Honestly, all joking aside, if Nia Jax cannot have a solid 7 minute match against Nattie of all people, how in the blue hell does WWE expect her to have a good match against Ronda Rousey? That is the blind leading the blind. Ronda isn’t ready to carry someone yet and Nia usually can work when she has a solid opponent leading her. Nattie should have been perfect in that spot.

- Ronda absolutely 1,000% wanted to be anywhere else but on commentary. She looked miserable every single time she was shown on camera and delivered her lines so wooden that I thought she was secretly being tortured while doing so.

COREY: “Ronda, some say that with your inexperience, you are ripe for the pickens.”

RONDA: “Only my husband can say that.”

COREY: “Ronda, some say that with your inexperience, you are ripe for the pickens.”

RONDA: “That’s what my husband tells me.”

- The post-match angle with Nattie hurting her knee, Ronda coming to check on her and suddenly a babyface Nia showing concern for Nattie was all sort of terrible. I don’t know why they decided to portray Nia showing concern since last week she was playing a full blown heel but it was incredibly stupid to see here. What is worse is that Ronda trying to keep Nia away made Ronda looked like the heel.

- Poor Bobby Roode. I am sticking to my story that Bobby Roode is turning heel soon. If not, being squashed by Braun was terrible booking.

- Poor Drew McIntyre. Remember when they put together Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler and I said that WWE isn’t going to fully get behind McIntyre so long as he was aligned with Ziggler because they have no faith in him? Well this week on RAW….Ziggler was eliminated from a tag team battle royal which highlighted how much of a joke RAW’s tag division is by Tyler Breeze.

- I cannot believe they are continuously booking Bobby Lashley the way they are booking him. I am almost starting to suspect that he is being sabotaged. Like all was good when they negotiated to bring him back and then signed him but I feel like it was all a ploy because Vince wanted revenge on him for leaving all those years ago and is now booking him in what has to be the worst WWE feud of 2018 as punishment. He vs. Sami Zayn should realistically be significantly better than this.

- Just to be clear, the majority if the audience does not like Roman Reigns. Also to be clear, no one in their right mind buys into the angle that Reigns is being conspired against by management when it is clear as day that he has been given more opportunities than anyone else. So when you have Jinder Mahal publicly state that those two very facts, it doesn’t look positive for Reigns.

- Anyone care to elaborate and help me understand why Alexa Bliss teamed with Sasha Banks and Ember Moon on RAW?

- So Bayley helped Sasha Banks when Bliss walked out on her team and no one bats an eye? This made sense why? Especially when Bayley isn’t in the MITB match? Are they friends this week? Are they friends again period? Are they enemies?

- Kurt Angle reversed the decision in the Banks/Moon/Bliss vs. The Riott Squad match due to Bayley subbing herself in and getting the win but he couldn’t do anything in the botched “Greatest Royal Rumble” match where it was clear as day that Brock hit the floor first before Reigns and the referee even admitted that he blew the call and made a mistake. Continuity WWE creative team. It really is not that hard.

- They are going to have Kevin Owens win the briefcase at MITB right? That is the only reasonable finish I can think of. Owens holding onto that briefcase is going to be GOLD.

- Mella is Money!!! I wish she was a better worker. Although she isn’t horrible in the ring, she isn’t in the upper echelon of female talent on the roster. I would go with Asuka, Charlotte, Nattie, Banks, Lynch, Riott, Bayley, and James all before her as performers with the a few others that I can. But she is great on the mic and as a character.

- Hurry up and announce Kofi as the last MITB participant.

- Has Lana been training or did she and Naomi rehearse their match move for move? She actually looked impressive in the mixed tag match on Smackdown this week. She hasn’t looked better than she did this week.

- Aiden English getting his throat injured better not take away his singing. Look, I don’t like the gimmick and really think it is silly. But in all honesty, it has done wonders for Rusev and is now helping get Lana over with the crowd. Then again, writing that sentence made me think that it is EXACTLY what WWE is going to do. End the singing because WWE doesn’t like it when people get over who they don’t want getting over. So I guess it makes sense if you look at it from WWE’s perspective.

- Heel Nakamura is fantastic. I also enjoyed that the contract signing with Styles and Nakamura was done backstage instead of in the ring. It added something to it for me.

- Said it last week and I will say it again this week, Samoa Joe is the best promo guy in WWE today. Prove me wrong.

- Big Cass also delivered a solid promo this week. It is just unfortunately that he has to wrestle too.

- Can you believe that WWE chose NOT to air THIS PROMO on Smackdown this week? WTF? Yet they think Daniel Bryan doesn’t have “IT” for whatever reason. SMH.

- I like the slow build for Andrade “Cien” Almas. They didn’t bring him in and push him straight to the top. They are actually going to feed Sin Cara to him and I hope they feed him a more lower card and mid card guys before the serious push starts. It gives time to establish him and Zelina Vega as a package.

- Turn Rusev face. Give him a push. I don’t get why they continue to try and push him as a heel. How come WWE doesn’t give the fans what they want ever? It is incredible that he gets monster pops and has fans behind him and yet they keep trying to get him over as a heel.

- For those complaining about Bryan being “misused” in this program with Cass, he isn’t. Although I want Bryan in the main events and feuding with A.J. and Joe and Nakamura or being champion, the truth is, he has an expiring contract on September 1st and hasn’t signed a new one yet. WWE can’t put their eggs in his basket if there isn’t a guarantee he is sticking around. Also, this is on the job training for Big Cass. He is teaching Cass and Cass can only improve by working with someone like Bryan. So this feud isn’t being made to bury Bryan but more to elevate Cass and help him improve.

- Jeff Hardy has been working through a pinched nerve which has caused him to have some numbness in his hands and fingers. This isn’t a good thing to be working through.

- Sigh. As of this writing, the tentative plan for the Summer Slam main event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn New York is Brock Lesnar defending the WWE Universal Championship against….Roman Reigns. This f*cking company. Sigh.

- Brock has until June 30th to resubmit his name to USADA for drug testing if he wants to fight on the New Year’s Eve weekend for UFC. So if we don’t hear anything by that date, it is a safe bet that he isn’t going anywhere until 2019.

- Despite not appearing on television yet, SAnitY made their Smackdown live event debut last weekend. It was Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe teaming against Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows. Anderson & Gallows won when Killian Dain interfered.

- WWE is locally advertising The Undertaker as wrestling on the July 7th WWE Live Event at Madison Square Garden in New York City. This coming on the heels of Cody and The Young Bucks teasing the possibility of “All In 2” taking place at MSG next year. This will be Taker’s 1st MSG appearance since 2010 and it will also be the MSG debut of Ronda Rousey.

- It is official!!! John Cena and Nikki Bella have weather the storm and are back together as a couple. I know, I am shocked too. I totally didn’t see that coming from a mile away.

- Stephanie McMahon will be featured on the CBS show “Undercover Boss” debuting on June 15th at 8:00 pm ET.

- He messed up with a reckless tweet shortly following his signing to the company and the release of Emma. But he took his lumps like a man and sat patiently doing what was necessary to prove his mistake was just a mistake. So now, Lio Rush despite not appearing on NXT television with the exception of his one match against Velveteen Dream will be NOT be competing in NXT and instead is set to debut on the 205 Live roster shortly. He was introduced via VINGETTE being portrayed as a cocky and brash athlete a.k.a. the Living Legend and 23 year old piece of gold. No word if they plan on bringing his body guard Babatunde who has been his heavy on NXT live events for the past few months. Babatunde is a 6’10 former football player in developmental.

- Former Mae Young Classic competitor Zeda was released last week. Following the Mae Young Classic, she only appeared one time on NXT during a women’s battle royal.

- WWE has signed U.K. Women’s Wrestler Jinny to a contract for WWE U.K. She lost her Revolution Pro women’s title last night and will not be working any future Rev Pro events.

- WWE revealed that the U.K. King of the Ring” tournament will NOT air live on the WWE Network. It will instead air Monday June 25th and Tuesday, June 26th at 3:00 pm ET.

- WWE has officially announced U.K. Wrestling Legend Johnny Saint as the general manager for the U.K. brand. His first appearance will be on the U.K. shows at Royal Albert Hall.

- WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels in an interview with Sky Sports earlier this week revealed that he is actually now receptive to the idea of coming back to wrestle a “one off” match in the WWE. He noted that it would likely be a tag team match with Triple H as his partner reuniting DX but would also be open to a match against A.J. Styles, Daniel Bryan or Johnny Gargano as potential opponents.

- Triple H in a separate interview with Sports Illustrated kind of reflected on the Shawn Michaels situation. He didn’t mention Shawn’s “itch” to wrestle per se but noted that since coming to the Performance Center as a coach, Shawn has rediscovered his passion for wrestling and seeing all of the younger talent in NXT has lit a fire in him.

- Former WWE Star and current agent/producer Tyson Kidd noted on his twitter last Friday that it was the 3rd anniversary of the end of his in-ring career due to injury.

- Former WWE Star John Morrison a.k.a. Johnny Mundo in Lucha Underground and Johnny Impact in Impact Wrestling married Taya Valkerie last weekend in California. Dolph Ziggler, the Miz and Zack Ryder were groomsmen in the wedding.

- The verdict in the Dr. Chris Amann vs. Phil “C.M. Punk” Brooks and Scott “Colt Cabana” Colton came in on Tuesday and the jury in the case found that neither Punk nor Cabana guilty and noted that Amann would not be receiving any compensation for his claims. The case is now over and hopefully Punk got in the proper training for his fight tomorrow. He was interviewed by Wrestlezone following the verdict and was asked the important question being whether or not he is “All In” to which Punk sadly responded, “No. I am not All In”. But….why ruin a good surprise if he was?

- Some VERY NOTABLE and frightening news did come from the trail is that in the 2014 Royal Rumble match which was Punk’s final match with the company, it was revealed that 10 minutes into the Rumble match, Punk was concussed off a clothesline by Kofi Kingston. Punk informed Dr. Amann through an intermediary at ringside that “he got his bell rung” to which Amann communicated that to the back and Triple H, Billy Kidman and Dr. Amann all wanted Punk to be eliminated immediately and get checked out. Punk refused since he is old school and just needed a few minutes to recover. He also didn’t want it to ruin the plans of the match as he was scheduled to reach the final four and it would have changed the layout of everything. They had sent out Kane to ringside as Kane was supposed to eliminate Punk illegally and set up a brief feud which was going to lead to Punk vs. HHH at Mania. Kane did NOT however eliminate Punk early as Punk still made the final four. Kane then proceeded to stay at ringside for the remainder of the match until it was time to eliminate Punk, which he did. HOWEVER here is where the concerning part comes. Following the elimination, Kane proceeded to CHOKESLAM PUNK THROUGH AN ANNOUNCE TABLE, THROW HIM HEAD FIRST INTO THE METAL STAIRS AND THEN THROW HIM AGAIN HEAD FIRST INTO THE BARRIER SEPARATING THE FANS AND THE RING. ALL WITH A CONCUSSION THAT WWE ADMITTED UNDER OATH THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF. WHAT THE F*CK?!?!?!?! In 2014, when WWE was well aware of all of the issues involving concussions, brain injuries, CTE and all of the concussion lawsuits that were filed against them, WWE wanted Punk eliminated early due to said concussion he had, yet still had Kane do all of that to Punk following him being concussed?!?!?!?! Even if Kane was just told Punk was “hurt” and needed to be eliminated early and that was all that was communicated to him, Kane stuck around ringside for another 30 minutes after Punk was knocked loopy, someone could have notified him that Punk was concussed and call an audible instead of going ahead as planned. Mind blowing that this all happened and in 20 years if Punk is diagnosed with CTE, this would be a clear cut case for him to sue WWE for damages as WWE employees Dr. Amann, Mark Carano and John Cone all confirmed Punk was concussed.

- Punk did AN INTERVIEW with Ariel Helwani earlier this week discussing the verdict, his fight tomorrow against Mike Jackson, his MMA future, possibly wrestling again, WWE, All In and more.

- The WWE sent a contingent of upper level talent to Southern California on Wednesday to the “For Your Consideration” Emmy Event in order to get WWE nominated for an Emmy Award. Among those attending on behalf of WWE are Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Ronda Rousey, Roman Reigns, The Bella Twins, Charlotte Flair, Braun Strowman and The New Day. The WWE is pusing for Raw 25, The Mixed Match Challenge and the WWE 24: Empowered documentary focusing on women’s empowerment.

- Conrad Thompson noted via social media that this week’s edition of “Something Else to Wrestle With Bruce Prichard” scheduled to be released earlier this week was pushed to today due to what Conrad is calling “creative differences” as apparently the WWE version of ECW was the subject and several people in management weren’t pleased with some of the discussion/content between Conrad and Bruce.

- Former WWE Star Muhammad Hassan in an interview with PRO WRESTLING SHEET revealed that not only is he working some independent promotions but he would like to do a one-time appearance for WWE, ideally as a Royal Rumble surprise.

- The terrorist group Al Qaeda released a statement slamming the Saudi Arabian Prince for his decision making lately including allowing women to drive and allowing movie theaters to re-open. He also slammed the WWE’s “Greatest Royal Rumble Ever” for taking place since wrestlers were “exposing their private parts” and most of the roster came out in clothes that “featured the sign of the cross” on them in front of a largely Muslim crowd.

- An AWESOME MINI-DOCUMENTARY on Luke Harper and his road to signing with WWE.

- The XFL has announced that Oliver Luck, father of Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Andrew Luck has been named CEO and Commissioner of the league. Oliver Luck briefly played in the NFL in the 80’s as a backup quarterback as well as working as an executive in the NCAA and Athletic Director as West Virginia University.

- WWE stock has been holding steady over $60 a share. How pissed off do you think Vince McMahon is? When he was raising capital for Alpha Entertainment to launch the XFL in December, he sold 3 million + shares at $31 per share. The stock has since doubled and had he sold it today, he would have raised an additional $100 million.

- Chris Jericho revealed that Impact Wrestling will be taking part in his “Rock N Wrestling Rager at Sea” in October. WOW.

Ring of Honor / New Japan / Lucha Underground / IMPACT WRESTLING / Independent / International News and Notes:

    - New Japan’s “Dominion” show takes place tomorrow in Osaka Japan headlined by Okada vs. Omega IV. Okada is chasing history as the only 2 IWGP World Title records he does NOT hold are for most career title defenses. The record is currently held by Hiroshi Tanahashi at 28. Okada goes into Dominion with 25 career defenses. The other record would be most career title reigns which is also held by Hiroshi Tanahashi at 7. Okada only has 4 meaning that in order to match or break that record, he would have to lose the title and regain it several more times. So inevitably, barring career threatening injury, Okada will capture and break both those records as he is only 30 years old and has several years of wrestling ahead of him.

    - Based on the Bullet Club’s recent angles with the split from Kenny Omega, this will be the first match of the series against Okada that the Young Bucks will not be cornering Omega for a match against Okada.

    - At the ROH Television tapings over the weekend at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, Cody and The Young Bucks teased that “All In 2” could possibly take place at Madison Square Garden in NYC which would be HUGE.

    - For those thinking that this was all just posturing by Cody and The Bucks, there is smoke to this fire as Mike Johnson of PWINSIDER.COM revealed that AAA has a hold for a September date at Madison Square Garden in New York. This was allowed by MSG because MSG management is NOT pleased with WWE running several events at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn NY including Summer Slam weekend on an annual basis as well as Mania 35 weekend events next year at Barclays instead of MSG. While the WWE has the “right of first refusal” for any competitor running at MSG, that doesn’t forbid anyone else from running because in order for that clause to be successful, WWE would have to run the building on that specified date instead. So if AAA wanted to run on September 16th, WWE would have to run a show on that date instead and on September 16th, WWE is running their “Hell in a Cell” PPV in San Antonio Texas. Meaning unless they move their PPV from San Antonio to MSG, AAA can have that date.

    - On that same show, ROH Champion Dalton Castle was scheduled to defend the ROH title against CMLL’s Ultimo Guerrero however was not medically cleared to wrestle and was pulled from the show. This adds further fuel to the fire regarding my speculation regarding Castle dropping the title to Cody at the next PPV.

    - Afa Jr. made his ROH debut winning a “Future of Honor” match which means he will be back with the promotion down the road.

    - Best of luck to Alex Shelly as he suffered a chipped tooth and a concussion over the weekend when he and Frankie Kazarian bumped heads. Shelly was unable to finish the match and had to be assisted out of the ring as he was knocked loopy.

    - Shane “Hurricane” Helms will be making his Ring of Honor debut on June 15th in San Antonio.

    - It has been announced that Jerry Lynn is “ALL IN” as he will be a referee for the show alongside PWG’s lead official Rick Knox, Ring of Honor’s lead official Todd Sinclair, ROH’s Paul Turner and legendary referee Earl Hebner.

    - Hiromu Takahashi defeated Taiji Ishimori to win the “Best of the Super Juniors” tournament this week and will go on to face Will Ospreay for the IWGP Jr. Title at Dominion.

    - Even though he announced that he is going to make New Japan his full time home and made it to the finals of the Best of the Super Junior tournament, Taiji Ishimori will be working the Impact “Slammiversary” PPV.

    - Tomoaki Honma appeared at one of the final Super Juniors show and announced that he will be returning to the ring on the June 23rd NJPW show in Tamagata. This is probably NOT the best idea since Honma was almost paralyzed on March 3rd 2017 taking a draping DDT from Jado and had to undergo spinal cord surgery. He was confined to a wheel chair and remained in the hospital until June 2017. He has spent the last year rehabilitating, learning to walk again, etc. With such an injury, it is probably best if he doesn’t risk further permanent paralysis wrestling again.

    - Austin Aries recaptured the Impact Heavyweight Championship from Penta OM last week. Aries also reflected on this week being the one year anniversary of his last WWE match against Neville noting: “And life was never the same...Dejected, almost amused at my repeated failure, who’d have known this moment here would be the catalyst for so much future success. And to my victorious opponent...I’d love to do it again, shackles off, whenever you’re done serving your time…”

    - Aries is also the current Impact Grand Champion but that title is being quietly dropped. It was useless in the first place and I never understood why it was introduced to begin with.

    - Johnny Impact is returning to Impact in July for the Slammiversary PPV.

    - LAX is splitting with Ortiz and Santana being managed by Konnan and having them feud with Homicide and the returning Hernandez with Eddie Kingston on their side. I am ok with this. I liked LAX as a unit/stable but they aren’t going to use Homicide as a singles which is ridiculous to me. So if teaming him with Hernandez gets him TV time then fine. Plus I always wanted Eddie Kingston aligned with Homicide since Kingston first debuted with TNA years ago.

    - I managed to watch the Eddie Edwards vs. Sami Callihan match “in the woods” last night on Impact. I don’t know what exactly to say other than please do not recycle ideas that were given to you. It was trying to take itself seriously but be something similar to “The Final Deletion” of years ago. It was pretty bad. Also, when you are in a “blood feud” with someone because they almost ended your life and shattered your face, you don’t do a collar and elbow tie up in the woods. Just my two cents.

    - Impact Wrestling will be participating in Chris Jericho’s “Rock N Wrestling Rager at Sea” in October. ROH has already been announced and participating in the “Sea of Honor” tournament. I am flabbergasted why WWE passed on participating as Jericho revealed that before he struck a deal with ROH, he spoke to Triple H about NXT participating and was turned down.

    - Impact is interested in signing both Jericho and New Japan’s Kenny Omega. With the Don Callis connection, I don’t think this is too far-fetched as a possibility considering AAA and CMLL are working together in Mexico. I personally wouldn’t like to see it happen mainly because I am tired of giving Impact Wrestling chances but I cannot deny it would be a huge coup for them if they did sign both of them and will absolutely make me a viewer again. Both Jericho and Omega would get creative freedom from Callis and D’Amore to shoot their own angles and have full creative control.

    - Eli Drake isn’t officially gone yet but was not featured prominently at the last tapings because he has not agreed to a new deal. WWE has in fact spoken to him about coming in but he did not agree to anything yet.

    - Still disappointed that Tessa Blanchard signed with Impact. I get why she did because a job is a job so long as she is being paid well and happy but she has so much potential and could be a huge star in WWE. Plus there is money to be printed with a feud between her and Charlotte Flair based on their fathers past alliance in the 4 Horsemen.

    - Rey Fenix makes his CMLL debut today teaming with Mistico and Caristico (the original Mistico and original Sin Cara in WWE) vs. Ultimo Guerrero, Negro Casas & Cavernario. It is the beginning of a working relationship with AAA in Mexico which is the equivalent of WWE and WCW working together in the 90’s.

    - Jeff Jarrett returned to AAA on Sunday and captured the Mega Heavyweight Title in a three-way with Wagner Jr. and Rey Mysterio Jr.

    - The AAA Triple Mania main event on August 26th (Their version of Summerslam) will be Psycho Clown vs. El Hijo de Fantasma vs. Pentagon Jr. vs. L.A. Park where the loser of the fall will have to take off their mask. Spoiler alert, with L.A. Park set to take on Wagner just a few weeks later in a mask vs. mask match for CMLL in the biggest show in CMLL history, their 85th Anniversary show. I think it is safe to say he isn’t losing this fall. This also means that L.A. Park will headline the two biggest shows of the year for the two biggest promotions in Mexico just a few weeks apart. Imagine during the peak of the Monday Night Wars in the United States in the late 90’s, someone headlining both Wrestlemania and Starcade while working for both promotions.

    - Pennsylvania police confirmed that Chuck “Rockin’ Rebel” Williams murdered his wife Stephanie Burtnett Williams and then committed suicide in their home. This whole story is a total f*cking shame and disgrace. He left two kids without parents. Scumbag.

    - Low-Ki made his wrestling return starting at the MLW television tapings last night.

    - The Fernwood Resort in Allentown Pennsylvania burned down earlier this week. The building used to be a longtime home of WWE and the early days of Monday Night Raw as well as one of the main buildings used by WWE Hall of Famer Afa when he was full time promoting WXW.

    - The latest episode of Random VIDEO.

NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING “DOMINION” PPV is on TOMORROW NIGHT from Osaka Japan and the line- up is as follows:

  • IWGP WORLD TITLE: Kazuchika Okada © vs. Kenny Omega in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match
  • IWGP INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE: Tetsuya Naito © vs. Chris Jericho
  • IWGP JR. TITLE: Will Ospreay © vs. Hiromu Takahashi
  • IWGP TAG TEAM TITLES: Los Ingobernables de Japon (EVIL & Sanada) © vs. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)
  • NEVER OPENWEIGHT TITLE: Hirooki Goto © vs. Taichi vs. Michael Elgin
  • 6-MAN TAG: Hiroshi Tanahashi/Jushin “Thunder” Liger/Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. The Bullet Club (Cody/Marty Scurll/Hangman Page)

  • IWGP JR. TAG TEAM TITLES: Suziki-Gun © (El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) vs. Roppongi 3K (Sho & Yoh)
  • MMA News and Notes:

    - UFC has a semi big show going on tomorrow night in Chicago with a double main event of UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whitaker defending his title against Yoel Romero as well as an interim UFC Welterweight Title fight between Rafael dos Anjos and Colby Covington and the 2nd career fight of C.M. Punk as he faces off against Mike Jackson; of course though it wouldn’t be a UFC event without some drama. As of this writing, Yoel Romero MISSED WEIGHT and has approximately one hour to lose 1 lb. or his fight with Whitaker will either be non-title or scrapped completely. SMH.

    - While it was supposed to make things better and easier, Dana White has now revealed that the UFC is going to get rid of early weigh ins and go back to the old format of weighing in during the ceremonial weigh ins. I just never understood the fact why people cut so much weight. Fight a weight above you if you have trouble making the weight you are fighting for.

    - C.M. Punk did get some good news earlier this week when a jury ruled in his and Colt Cabana’s favor that they did NOT defame Dr. Christopher Amann on Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast and owe him no restitution. It was a tough week for Punk however considering the fact that he has a fight tomorrow and he certainly didn’t train well for the past two weeks with everything going on. He did NOT participate in the open workouts for UFC yesterday due to “anxiety”. With his training camp of Roofus Sport being in Milwaukee, I highly doubt that he commuted the 90 minutes from Chicago to there to train so he had to make due with Chicago and I am sure that Duke Roofus didn’t commute to Chicago to train with him. So it is unlikely that he trained the past two weeks with his usual training team.

    - Punk sat down with Ariel Helwani for AN INTERVIEW yesterday where he discussed the verdict, his fight against Mike Jackson tomorrow, WWE, All In and possibly wrestling again and MORE.

    - It was revealed this week that UFC was working to set up a “mini-tournament” featuring Conor McGregor, George St. Pierre, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Nate Diaz but it fell through for various reasons. Nurmagomedov is now pushing UFC to sign him vs. GSP for his next fight.

    - Speaking of McGregor, he was named Forbes 4th highest paid athlete this past year with earnings of $99 million dollars. He only trailed #1 Floyd Mayweather and Soccer stars Lionel Messi at #2 and Christian Ronaldo at #3. He earned more money in the last year then LeBron James did. WOWSERS.

    - McGregor also revealed that had he not been suspended due to his actions in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center, he was in talks to take on Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 224 and the payday off of that fight would have boosted him to 2nd on the list behind only Mayweather.

    - Last weekend Marlon Moraes OBLIVERATED Jimmie Rivera in 33 seconds of the 1st round which absolutely has to put him in line for the winner of T.J. Dillashaw vs. Cody Garbrandt on August 4th.

    - UFC is working on finalizing a title fight with Demetrious Johnson defending against Henry Cejudo for UFC 227 in August. Johnson had already defeated Cejudo in April 2016 at UFC 197.

    - Following being released by UFC President Dana White for refusing to fight Zabit Magomedsharipov, Yair Rodriquez is BACK in UFC and will fight Magomedsharipov on September 28th at UFC 228. It is amazing how being fired can quickly change someone’s bravado.

    - Congrats to former MMA star Miesha Tate as she gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Amania on Sunday. Both mom and baby are doing well. Tate gave birth after 72 hours of labor.

    - As the Combate Americas reorganization continues, CEO Campbell McLaren has hired former Chief Marketing Officer of NBCU Hispanic and COO of Telemundo, Jacqueline Hernandez to become the new President of the company.

    - Recently retired Michael Bisping will be joining the UFC commentary team and be a full time color man for Dana White’s “Contender Series” when it launches on ESPN+.

UFC 225 is on TOMORROW NIGHT from Chicago Illinois and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE: Robert Whitaker © vs. Yoel RomeroUFC INTERIM WELTERWEIGHT TITLE: Rafael dos Anjos vs. Colby Covington
  • C.M. Punk vs. Mike Jackson
  • Alistair Overeem vs. Curtis Blaydes
  • Holly Holm vs. Megan Anderson
  • Claudia Gadelha vs. Carla Esparza
  • Joseph Benavidez vs. Sergio Pettis
  • UFC 226 is on Saturday, July 7th, 2018 from Las Vegas Nevada and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC 227 is on Saturday, August 4th, 2018 from Los Angeles California and the line-up is as follows:

    - THIS LINK is for LIFE. Thank you soldiers. WELCOME HOME BLOG.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week: Piss poor police work. I know I would be pissed if I reported someone missing and they are found DEAD in my own town.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 1: Accident or not, this is definitely NOT going to be good for his career as an FBI agent.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 2: Designer Kate Spade committed suicide this week.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 3: Don’t resist arrest. Plain and simple. I don’t care if cops whip that ass when you resist arrest because you resisted arrest. I don’t care to hear your sob story.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 4: Absolutely tremendous news!!! Fantastic that this man lost his job for being such a dirtbag judge.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 5: If Netflix ever decides to do a future episode of Narcos, they can base it on this storyline because it seems like a pretty big part of an already told story.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 6: How soon before iPhones become “self-aware” and try to take over the world?

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 7: You reap what you sow. No sympathy from me on this one.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 8: First Kate Spade and now Anthony Bourdain just a few days later. Terrible. Also terrible that the rumors have started circling about Bourdain in that his longtime girlfriend Asia Argento may be part of the reason he committed suicide as even though their social media posts show them as still together and happy, there were photos of Argento in Italy with journalist Hugo Clement as well as an Argento Instagram Post showing her wearing a Sid Vicious (the musician, not the wrestler) shirt that said “F*ck Everyone” with the caption “You know who you are”. She posted that photo just 2 HOURS before CNN reported Bourdain’s death and she IMMEDIATELY took it down.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 9: One of the only reasons why I wouldn’t live in Florida. While the police won’t call it, it is safe to say that it is just a recovery mission now and NOT a rescue mission.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 10: Terrifying. Kilauea won’t stop and the Big Island in Hawaii is NEVER going to be the same again.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 11: THIS F*CKING GUY!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!

    - “Avengers: Infinity War” currently sits at $1.9 BILLION worldwide and is set to break the $2 billion mark sometime next week making it only the 4th film in movie history to pass $2 billion in their initial release. It is already the 4th highest grossing film of ALL TIME trailing only Avatar, Titanic and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

    - In news that is going to make Disney see RED with anger, “Deadpool 2” reclaimed the top stop at the box office surpassing “Solo: A Star Wars” story for the #1 spot.

    - As of right now, Academy Award winner Helena Bonham Carter is the front runner to take on the role of the villain in the untitled “Bond 25”. It will mark the final appearance of Daniel Craig in the titular role and will also mark the first female Bond antagonist since “The World is Not Enough”.

    - Academy Award Winner Reese Witherspoon is confirmed to be once again teaming with MGM for “Legally Blond 3”.

    - I get Hollywood’s obsession with rebooting stuff. They run out of ideas and don’t know what to do plus nostalgia is hot right now with all of the television reboots and retreads. It’s fine if it is a good project. What I do not get is rebooting something that was recently rebooted!!! Apparently Willy Wonka is being rebooted despite the fact that Johnny Depp just rebooted it not too long ago. WTF? Reboot something from the 80’s!!! Bring back “Revenge of the Nerds”. Bring back “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”. Bring back ANY of John Hughes movies. The man legitimately had some of the most successful comedy films EVER and dominated the 80’s and 90’s with his movies. Look at his resume with National Lampoons Vacation, Mr. Mom, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, the above mentioned Ferris Bueller, Pretty In Pink, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Home Alone, etc. Jesus f*cking Christ why would you reboot Willy Wonka?!?!?!?!?!

    - According to sources, the final season of Fox’s “Gotham” will be shortened to 10 episodes and will be primarily focused on Bruce Wayne’s transition into “The Batman”. It will be based on the Batman: Zero Year storyline which Batman fights to keep the Riddler from laying siege to Gotham City. I haven’t watched any of this season the first 2 episodes of season 1 however I cannot imagine fans that have been invested in Detective Gordon and his quest to police commissioner being too happy about his role in the show being scaled back in order to fast forward to Batman becoming Batman. By the way, they can’t call him Batman on the show, EVER due to the ruling from WB Films.

    - FINALLY catching up on my television shows and saw the season finales of “Arrow”, “Flash”, “Legends of Tomorrow” and Chicago PD and they were some good finales.

    - Arrow was a mess all season long but I will give the show some credit, they are excellent with casting choices. Kirk Acevedo as Ricardo Diaz a.k.a. Richard Dragon was FANTASTIC and the finale at least delivered and made up for some of the messiness that the season was. It didn’t resolve all of the crap they delivered but it softened the blow a bit in my book.

    - As for Flash, definitely the show’s weakest season to date but the finale was also solid. I like a few of the twist and turns towards the end of the season and surprisingly they made Ralph Dibny likeable to the point where I felt for him at the end.

    - With the Legends, what can I say? They have the most fun superhero show on television today. It knows what it is and doesn’t try to shy away from it. That “final” battle between the Legends and Mollus was f*cking fantastic. I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard at something when the “reveal” of the hero they conjured up showed on screen. SOLID GOLD!!!

    - Chicago P.D. was a HELL of a finale. It completely blew me away and I don’t even know how to describe it but that twist completely came out of nowhere and I totally didn’t expect it to happen. Especially for it to happen in the BEGINNING OF THE EPISODE!!! WOW.

    - I am still way behind on “Supergirl” so I am not sure where people stand on that show. I also started “Black Lightning” which is decent so far. It isn’t Arrow season 1 or 2 level of good yet. Fingers crossed. I plan on catching up to both “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “Black-Ish” this summer. Brooklyn because of all the hullaballoo they got when they were cancelled and “Black-Ish” mainly due to how likeable Tracee Ellis-Ross is as I find her quite funny and Anthony Anderson is always good for a laugh. Any other recommendations on must see TV for me this summer?

    - It was revealed earlier this week that actor Keiynan Lonsdale a.k.a. Kid Flash will NOT be a full time cast member of the “Legends of Tomorrow” when the series returns next year. He will no longer be a part of the Legends team and will be replaced by John Constantine and Ava Sharpe on the team. Lonsdale will reprise his role of Kid Flash/Wally West in the season premiere of both “Legends of Tomorrow” and the premiere of “The Flash” next season and may make appearances throughout the “Arrow-verse” during the year but will not be a regular cast member of any of the shows. Lonsdale opened up about his departure from Legends and noted it was his request to leave the show noting: “I’ve changed a lot in the past year, as you’ve probably noticed lol, and for infinite reasons my perspective on life and what I want from it now is just completely different. Because of that, my heart told me it was the right time to continue my journey on an unknown path.”

    - Arrow-verse executive producer Greg Berlanti just signed a new deal with Warner Brothers worth over $300 million dollars to remain at the network. The deal is until 2024.

    - Marvel television head honcho Jeph Loeb revealed that despite having several hit shows on Netflix in various seasons, The Defenders series has no plans on returning anytime soon. Never say never but as of now, season 1 was it. No new seasons.

    - I am a few episodes in on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and it is HILARIOUS. Don’t know why I wasn’t put onto this sooner.

    - Talks have begun internally at ABC for a potential spin-off of the recently cancelled “Roseanne” which would center on Sara Gilbert’s character of Darlene Connor and her family.

    - Variety has confirmed that WB will be moving forward with a Jared Leto stand-alone film based on The Joker which he will also executive produce. This is separate than the still in the works “Joker Origin” film set to star Joaquin Phoenix in the title role and produced by Martin Scorcese. So essentially we will have two Joker films produced by the same company yet not connected.

    - The Leto led Joker film will be used as a way to pave the path for future “Suicide Squad” films and not be a direct connection to the DCEU featuring the Justice League.

    - Matt Dawgs has confirmed that WB legitimately has no f*cking clue what they are doing with what could be one of the most profitable group of characters in all of film. It is mind blowing to me that they have THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of pages of comic books to choose material from in order to gather storylines yet they continue to hire writers to create original content. Just open up a goddamn legendary comic book and word for word translate it for film. It isn’t that hard. Sure Marvel takes creative liberty with their films but for the most part, all they are doing is combining a few storylines together from the comics and just adds their own fine tuning. They take a general idea and run with it (see Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War, Captain America: The Winter Solider, etc). It’s not rocket science.

    - As expected, Netflix has renewed “13 Reasons Why” for a 3rd season. Actress Katherine Langford (Hannah Baker) however will NOT be returning as she noted that she believes her story was “complete” at the end of season 2. I agree with her too. It couldn’t have possibly ended better. I cannot imagine what they can do in a 3rd season since the story is complete. Had season 2 ended a different way, and I won’t spoil how it did but I will say that “he should have done it”.
