T.G.I.F. with Matt Dawgs: #449

Good day to you all and welcome to We Want Insanity. I am your host for today, Matt Dawgs and this is my column. Today is the end of the work week and the time to look back at all the goings-on over the past seven days as I wrap it up with a bow and spout it out bit by bit. Buckle up. Enjoy the ride.

IMPORTANT MATT NOTE:: I am hoping that you readers have taken the time to lend a hand and donated to the JAIDAN STRONG cause for me. I’d really appreciate it if you did; as little as $5 can go a long way. If not, it isn’t a big deal but please at least SHARE THE LINK. I get that finances can be tough for some but taking the time to share a link via your social media doesn’t cost a dime. I’d appreciate it greatly as one of your friends or family members may be able to help out. Thanks.

MDJG NOTE: James Guttman is the Dad of Hi Blog! I'm Dad.

BONUS MATT NOTE: #JusticeForJunior if you haven’t read/heard the story by now, it is Article #1 in the news section at the bottom. It is a sickening tale of a brutal murder of a 15 year old boy in the Bronx last week over a case of mistaken identity. He wasn’t just shot and killed instantly, oh no. He instead was hacked to death with a machete while someone else stabbed him multiple times. He tried in vain to run himself to the hospital but he bled out in the street a block away from his destination after a local store owner first refused to help hide him and call police before he was dragged into the street and attacked and then refused to help him as he came back into the store a bleeding mess only to be thrown out of the store again. The 6 MEN who assaulted him were part of a Dominican gang and the gangs leader allegedly reached out to the family apologizing for the murder when it was revealed that they mistook the innocent 15 year old for someone else who allegedly filmed a sexual encounter with the 15 year old sister of another member of the gang. This situation is made all the more worse by the fact that there are several videos of the assault online as well as his death in the street. Yes, because it is 2018, someone with a smart phone legitimately filmed him bleeding out dying while leaning against a wall and posted it to the internet.

- Signed, sealed and delivered. WWE officially announced their new television deals for both RAW and Smackdown. Smackdown will debut on Fox on Friday, October 4th, 2019 while RAW will just continue on for the next five years at 8:00 pm ET on Monday’s on the USA Network. In addition to Smackdown, Fox executives are considering adding additional WWE programming to their networks including reality shows, documentaries and there have been rumblings of NXT possibly moving to Fox Sports 1.

- No word on the switch but the original plans for the Extreme Rules PPV was supposed to be a 6 man match to determine the next contender for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Title at Summerslam. That has since been scrapped and the idea is to go towards Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley with Reigns scheduled to win and challenge Brock again for the title. In front of a hardcore wrestling fan base. In Brooklyn. And they want to get Roman over as a babyface. LMAO.

- Lesnar has until the end of the day today to submit his name for drug testing to USADA if he wants to fight in UFC by the end of the year. The scheduled plan is that he will either fight the winner of the UFC Heavyweight Title fight between Stipe Miocic vs. UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier taking place on July 7th at the December 29th show or he can face Jon Jones on that show if Jones is reinstated from his current drug suspension, which in all reality, he shouldn’t be and it would be a blatant slap in the face to the drug testing policy if he is.

- RAW was an ok show carried by a fantastic main event. Seth Rollins is still the MVP of RAW and WWE needs to rocket strap him because he is the guy who can carry the brand. NOT Roman. It amazes me how those in charge can be so blind.

- I am still waiting for the other shoe to drop regarding Dolph Ziggler. Don’t get me wrong, I am happy he is finally getting a push and involved in a program with Rollins but I know it is only temporary and they are eventually going to drop him back to jobbing all the time.

- I hope Drew McIntyre doesn’t get ruined in the process as he can be a legit main event level talent. He has a great look, cuts good promos and is great in the ring.

- I am looking forward to the inevitable Ziggler/McIntyre vs. Rollins/Reigns matches.

- At least Vader got a graphic. I will never understand this company and how they decide who to give videos to vs. who doesn’t get anything at all. That has always been really weird to me.

- Constable Corbin…..UGH. So stupid. I think I am going to reference that every week till it’s done.

- Bobby Lashley is so much better as a heel. His babyface promos leave a lot to be desired.

- Wait…Lashley left WWE to pursue MMA goals? I thought he left because Michael Hayes was a racist and made racist remarks regarding Lashley as well as his ex/baby momma Kristal Marshall? Wasn’t there some sort of financial settlement and non-disclosure agreements? Was that all a work and the real reason were to chase his MMA dream? I am so confused.

- NOTE TO WWE: I know you guys are trying real hard to get Roman Reigns cheered. Here is a tip, don’t promote the fact that he has main evented the last 4 WrestleMania’s in a row and is looking to make it 5. That is not going to turn fans in his favor.

- So we are clear…..Paul Heyman reveals on Social Media that Brock Lesnar refuses to defend his title against Roman Reigns because he has beaten him too many times. So Kurt Angle’s solution to this is to book a match between Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley where is Reigns wins, he gets yet another shot at Lesnar despite the fact that Lesnar just finished saying he is done with Reigns?

- Am I the only one who has noticed how much Bo Dallas looks like Bray Wyatt? It is eerie.

- Honest question. Was the finish of Axel vs. Hardy botched? Was that supposed to be the finish? Seemed way weird.

- The Authors of Pain are back. Yay? The question mark is on purpose by the way. I am unsure if we are supposed to be happy they are back or still on the fence because honestly, I never thought they were that big of a deal and still feel like they aren’t prime time ready.

- Um….I thought that Braun Strowman and Finn Balor were friends? Didn’t Strowman say as much last week when he called Finn Balor his “little buddy”? So why in the world did Strowman want to team with Owens to fight Corbin and Balor?

- So to be clear, Natalya pins Alexa Bliss on RAW in a non-title match and Nia Jax is getting the title shot at Extreme Rules. Makes sense.

- Nattie is turning on Ronda before Summerslam right?

- Mickie James is back with Alexa Bliss? Did I miss the angle of them reuniting? Wasn’t James randomly a face a few weeks ago when they turned Nia heel? Now Nia is a face again? James is a heel again? WTF?

- Is Jinder Magal and Sunil Singh going to feud with the Riott Squad? I am confused.

- So Bayley and Sasha Banks split up last week and on the heels of that, Kurt Angle makes them team up. Interesting decision. I probably would have booked them in a match against each other but I guess that isn’t how wrestling works anymore.

- Bayley lays out Sasha Banks with a beat down after the match. The fans were pissed. HAHA; just kidding. They cheered Bayley because they want to like Bayley. Is there anyone on the roster who they f*cked up more than Bayley? Finn Balor is getting there but he isn’t as ruined as Bayley is. WWE legit had lightning in a bottle with her and her gimmick when she got called up and WWE dropped the ball completely with her. SMH.

- Mandatory counseling for Bayley and Sasha Banks on RAW next week. Oh my god. This is going to rival the terribleness of Sami Zayn introducing Bobby Lashley’s “sisters” a few weeks back.

- By the way, do you know how many feuds and main event angles could have never happened if WWE management just sent people to counseling? The Mega Powers would have never exploded if WWE President Jack Tunney just sent Macho Man and Hogan to see a shrink!!!!

- I’ve never been a fan of wrestlers wrestling in street clothes; even less of a fan when wrestlers wrestle in suits. Corbin in a suit is stilly enough as it is because he looks so out of place but wrestling in it? Just. Plain. Dumb.

- Would have been nice to see Braun Strowman flip over a car again.

- In a weird story that all the details have not been released yet, Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Jeff Hardy for the U.S. title was pulled from Smackdown this week due to a Nakamura injury suffered at a Smackdown Live Event on Monday in Bakersfield California when Nakamura was bitten backstage by a police dog in his leg. Smackdown is touring Japan this weekend so no word on whether or not he will be able to compete or how serious the injury is.

- Speaking of Hardy, he has been battling a knee injury which started during his ring entrance on the May 17th Smackdown tapings as well as numbness in his fingers which is usually the sign of a major neck or spinal injury. That isn’t good.

- So over on Smackdown, Rusev, who was on the cusp of becoming a babyface, is once again a heel and while he has a main event match at the next PPV against A.J. Styles, worked the opening match on Smackdown. Sigh.

- Xavier Woods has now officially submitted to the Accolade by Rusev on NXT, Raw, Smackdown and PPV in his career.

- SaniTY lost in their debut match. LOL. I can’t with this company.

- So Lana has a Russian accent again. Why?

- Is Sin Cara vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas that big of a match that they are going to continue to put it off? It was advertised like 3 weeks ago but scrapped because Almas “injured” Sin Cara despite the fact that Cara is on each WWE live event every single weekend.

- So we are getting Asuka vs. James Ellsworth next week on Smackdown. I am trying to figure out how WWE is going to do this since they are so dead set against Man vs. Women violence. Asuka is probably going to squash him unless it is all an angle for Carmella to lay out Asuka. I cannot imagine any physical contact between her and Ellsworth.

- Remember a few paragraphs above when I asked who has WWE ruined more than Bayley? Asuka has to be a close second no? I mean she seems like just another woman now compared to when she was an unstoppable monster that was SUPER OVER.

- TEAM HELL YES!!!! I am ok with this. It keeps Bryan occupied in something the fans like while keeping him away from A.J. and the title picture.

- WWE has revealed that Rey Mysterio will be a pre-order bonus for the new WWE 2K18 video game. This for certain shows that both sides are close to finalizing a deal and Mysterio said as much in a recent interview noting that they are close to terms on a 3 year contract. It is all a matter of WHEN he signs, not IF.

- Actress Danielle Fishel who played Topanga of “Boy/Girl Meets World” fame was backstage at both Smackdown and 205 Live this week and met several wrestlers. She is a huge wrestling fan and was there to see Lio Rush’s 205 Live debut as she has been a fan since his Pro Wrestling Guerrilla days where she purchased a Lio Rush shirt at the event.

- Rush looked great by the way. I am ok with him being on 205 Live because he is WAY too tiny to be on RAW/Smackdown. He fits well there and the gimmick is GOLDEN.

- Kevin Owens is AWESOME.

- Sani Zayn is targeting February for his return which will be aggressive considering he is getting rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders (he already had his first last week). He does plan on working next year’s Wrestlemania.

- CHARLOTTE FLAIR discusses her appearance in ESPN The Magazine’s “Body Issue”.

- NXT North American Champion Adam Cole successfully defended his title against WALTER at last weekend’s EVOLVE show.

- In a tough break literally, Oney Lorcan broke his orbital bone at NXT Takeover Chicago in the tag title match with Danny Burch vs. the Undisputed Era. He is going to be out of action for several months following surgery.

- TM61 in NXT is now just known as TM for “The Mighty”. They have dropped the 61 which in fact was the area code for Australia where they are from.

- Congrats to NXT Stars Bianca Belair and Montez Ford as they were married last weekend.

- This year’s Mae Young Classic will feature both Mia Yim and Mercedes Martinez who participated in last year’s tournament.

- NXT U.K. technically was launched this week on the WWE Network with the two night shows from Royal Albert Hall ion London airing on the WWE Network and taped last week. I have yet to see them and will check them out sometime this weekend. I have read that they were excellent from top to bottom and featured some incredible matches including a title change. The shows were a solid mix of the U.K. roster as well as NXT stars such as Ricochet, Velveteen Dream, The Undisputed Era, Shayna Baszler and more.

- NXT Takeover Brooklyn which I am attending is scheduled to have Shayna Baszler vs. Kari Sane for the NXT Women’s title and Alistair Black defending the NXT Championship against Tommaso Ciampa.

- Best of luck to Robbie E. and Chelsea Green (Zack Ryder’s girlfriend and former Impact Knockout’s Champion Laurel Van Ness) are at the WWE Performance Center this week for WWE Tryouts.

- Jesse White, son of Vader revealed that Sting, Mick Foley, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and DDP had all been in close contact with Vader for the past year and would talk regularly with him.

- Big congrats to Maryse as she officially became a U.S. citizen earlier this week.

- For those wondering, Big Cass does indeed have a 90 day no compete clause. Also for those wondering, the chances of him and Enzo Amore a.k.a. Real 1 teaming on the indies is slim to none as they are no longer friends and have legitimate heat against with each other.

WWE EXTREME RULES PPV is on Sunday, July 15th, 2018 from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and the line-up is as follows:

  • WWE SMACKDOWN TITLE: “The Phenomenal” A.J. Styles © vs. Rusev w/Aiden English
  • WWE RAW WOMEN’S TITLE: Alexa Bliss © vs. Nia Jax
  • WWE SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S TITLE: Carmella © w/James Ellsworth vs. Asuka
  • WWE SMACKDOWN TAG TEAM TITLES: The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper & Rowan) vs. Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan & Kane)
  • WWE RAW TAG TEAM TITLES: “Woken” Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt © vs. The “B” Team (Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas)
  • Ring of Honor / New Japan / Lucha Underground / IMPACT WRESTLING / Independent / International News and Notes:

-To the surprise of no one, Cody and the Young Bucks revealed that “ALL IN” will be broadcast in some capacity.

    - “All Us” (not a typo) is going to be a series of videos produced by Billy Corgan which will help Cody and the Bucks promote “ALL IN”. The series is set to debut soon.

    - New Japan President Harold Meij opened the New Japan show this weekend honoring the memory and legacy of Big Van Vader. This was fitting as Leon White got the Big Van Vader name and gimmick in New Japan back in 1987 and he is the American with the most IWGP World Title reigns in history with 3.

    - Tomoaki Honma returned to action for the first time in over a year following a LIFE threatening cervical vertebrae injury that left him unable to move, let alone walk for several months following the injury. He worked an 8 man tag where he didn’t do much. I am amazed that he is even being allowed to wrestle again however following that injury.

    - The Cow Palace show in San Francisco is next weekend and the event is NOT sold out. They are expected however to set the gate record at the building with over 5,000 tickets sold and all expensive seats meaning that they are going to gross more than any other wrestling event held in that building INCLUDING WWE which their last Cow Palace sell out was Eddie Guerrero defeating Brock Lesnar for the WWE title. According to AXS which will be airing the show, the show is being booked as 4 ½ hours long.

    - It has been revealed that New Japan will be returning to run in the U.S on September 30th as Will Ospreay pulled out of a PROGRESS date in London citing a commitment to New Japan that informed him they are running in Los Angeles on that date.

    - Pro Wrestling NOAH has announced that the main event of the Naomichi Marufuji 20th Anniversary Show on September 1st in Japan will be Marufuji against WWE’s Hideo Itami. Itami using his name KENTA was a longtime rival of Marufuji in Japan.

    - Despite successfully blocking Ring of Honor from running inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, WWE has not made any attempts to prevent AAA in Mexico from running the building. That is being attributed to WWE not having any faith that AAA would draw a big number while ROH, running on Wrestlemania weekend would absolutely sell out.

    - The participants in the annual PWG “Battle for Los Angeles” have been announced and it will be:

  • Matt Riddle
  • Darby Allin
  • PCO
  • Brody King
  • Jody Fleisch (haven’t heard that name in forever)
  • Ilja Dragunov
  • Robbie Eagles
  • Joey Janela
  • Puma King
  • David Starr
  • Rey Horus
  • Chris Brookes
  • DJZ
  • Timothy Thatcher
  • T-Hawk
  • CIMA
  • Bandido
  • Travis Banks
  • Shingo Takagi
  • Jonah Rock
  • Flamita
  • Jeff Cobb
  • - For those who don’t get how important the PWG BOLA Tournament is, let’s take a quick look at the past winners since inception in 2005. Chris Bosh (who had tons of potential but was forced to retire in 2007 due to injury), Davey Richards, CIMA, Low-Ki, Kenny Omega, Joey Ryan, Sami Zayn (in his El Generico gimmick), Adam Cole “Bay Bay”, Kyle O’Reilly, Ricochet, Zack Sabre Jr, Marty Scurll and Ricochet becoming the only 2 time winner last year. WOW.

    - Speaking of Janela, he sure as hell has come a long way from when I saw him in New Jersey wrestling in front of 50 people. Joey Janela captured the WWN Title last weekend in his EVOLVE debut defeating Austin Theory. WOW.

    - MLW has added Konnan to their July show in Queens New York. He will BE IN ACTION in the “Battle Riot” match. I will be in attendance at that show and likely live tweeting any major happenings.

    - Also appearing in the “Battle Riot” match is JOEY RYAN!!! I get to see “Dong Style” live for the first time. Amazing. He will also be taking on MJF in a title match for the inaugural Middleweight Championship for those 205 lbs. and under.

    - So far announced for the “Battle Riot” match is:

  • John Hennigan (Nitro/Morrison/Impact/Mundo)
  • Pentagon Jr.
  • ACH
  • Kevin Sullivan
  • Davey Boy Smith Jr.
  • Teddy Hart
  • Rich Swann
  • Barrington Hughes
  • Jake Hager(Jack Swagger)
  • Jimmy Yuta
  • Pierre Carl Ouellet aka PCO
  • Lance Anoa’i
  • Swoggle (Hornswoggle)
  • Konnan
  • Sami Callihan
  • Joey Ryan
  • Jason Cade
  • “Filthy” Tom Lawlor
  • - Also announced in a singles match is John Morrison vs. Low-Ki.

    - Congratulations go out to independent wrestler Sonny Kiss as he made his Lucha Underground TV debut this on Wednesday. He is an openly gay wrestler that manages to successfully play a flamboyant homosexual yet he is UBER talented in the ring and deserves to be on some sort of TV with the gimmick.

    - After much negotiating and speaking a bit to WWE, Eli Drake has signed a new deal with Impact. It is a multi-year contract beginning on August 1st as his current deal expires July 31st.

    - Peter Einstein has been announced as the new Chief Operating Officer of Anthem Sports & Entertainment which is the parent company of Impact Wrestling. He was previously a long time executive at MTV where he worked for the last 16 years and helped launch MTV Europe.

    - Hate to post spoiler but someone asked me and I thought it was a no brainer. Pentagon is set to do battle with Sami Callihan at the Slammiversary PPV on July 22nd in a “mask vs. hair” match. Guys, let’s be serious. To the person who emailed asking me as well as anyone else, do you honestly think Pentagon is going to lose his mast on an Impact PPV in the U.S. and not in Mexico in a main event match of a major show against a fellow luchador? Come on.

    - Rich Swann finally debuted on Impact. He looked good out there.

    - Last week’s BEING THE ELITE episode and this week’s BEING THE ELITE episode.

    - AXS TV, home to New Japan Pro Wrestling here in the states is launching a new show called
“Women Of Wrestling” and will feature producers such as Los Angeles Lakers executive Jeanie Buss as well as Survivor and reality show producer Mark Burnett and David McClane as McClane was part of the brain trust behind G.L.O.W. in the 80’s. Once the promotion is set up, the tentative plan is to film shows in Los Angeles near year end to air in 2019.

    - Thoughts and prayers go out to LuFisto as she has to undergo another surgery in relation toher cervical cancer. She is going to miss a few months of action due to it. I hope this is the end of her battle as she was declared cancer free a few weeks ago.

RING OF HONOR WRESTLING’S “BEST IN THE WORLD” PPV is TONIGHT from Baltimore Maryland and the line-up is as follows:

  • ROH TV TITLE: Punishment Martinez © vs. Hangman Page IN A STREET FIGHT
  • ROH SIX MAN TAG TEAM TITLES: The Kingdom © (Matt Taven/T.K. O’Reilly/Vinny Marseglia) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI/EVIL/SANADA)
  • Jay Lethal vs. Kushida

  • IMPACT WRESTLING “SLAMMIVERSARY PPV” is on Sunday, July 22nd, 2018 from Toronto Canada and the line-up is as follows:

  • IMPACT TITLE: Austin Aries © vs. Moose
  • HAIR VS. MASK MATCH: Sami Callihan vs. Pentagon
  • Johnny Impact vs. Rich Swann vs. Taiji Ishimori vs. Fenix
  • MMA News and Notes:

    - John Kavanagh, Conor McGregor’s trainer noted that he would bet everything he owned that McGregor will fight Khabib Nurmagomedov before the end of the year. I’d like to see it since it would absolutely be McGregor’s toughest test EVER but I don’t think UFC or McGregor could pull it off before December.

    - Donald Cerrone lost a unanimous decision last weekend in Singapore to Leon Edwards. Cerrone was contemplating pulling out of the fight the morning of due to sickness but fought through the illness.

    - Kevin Lee has issued a public challenge to George St. Pierre for a fight in November in Madison Square Garden.

    - Rashad Evans has officially retired from MMA. Dana White noted that he would be retiring following his loss at the Chicago PPV but Evans refuted the claim. After discussing with his family and taking some time to contemplate his future made the decision to call it a career.

    - Also hanging it up and calling it a career is Johnny Hendricks as he officially retiring from MMA. He noted he is done completely with MMA and wants to coach wrestling at a local high school in Texas. He hadn’t fought since November in a loss to Paulo Costa.

    - UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier revealed that win or lose vs. UFC Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, he’d like two more fights before retiring. He’d like a shot against Brock Lesnar and then his final bout would be a match against Jon Jones.

    - Longtime UFC vet Josh Barnett has negotiated his release from the company. While I am sure he will look elsewhere to fight, he has noted that he will no longer submit himself to USADA testing due to his experiences with them. For those who have followed the story, Barnett has missed the last two years of fighting due to battling a suspension which was in fact overturned via arbitration once he proved that he was NOT a drug cheat and that his failed test came from a tainted supplement. His obvious destination would be Bellator if he wants to fight since they can afford him now and he would be a solid heavyweight.

    - A hearing in Las Vegas was held this past Tuesday where a prosecutor in the Nick Diaz case attempted to have Nick’s bail increased to $100,000 but was denied by a judge.

    - The main event of the August 25th FS-1 show has been changed as Al Iaquinta pulled out soon after the fight was announced. He was scheduled to fight Justin Gaethje which was a solid bout but they were forced to replace him with James Vick. The name Kevin Lee was originally talked about but Lee apparently declined as he doesn’t want to fight so soon and is looking for his next fight to be in November or December.

    - In a HUGE deal for Bellator, they have signed a streaming deal with DAZN (pronounced Da Zone) which is a new streaming service that will air Bellator MMA for what is approximately a $33 million a year deal. This deal with cause an influx of revenue for Bellator which will make the company profitable and give them the ability of signing more big name fighters as well as flexibility to put more money into their shows.

    - Bellator first show on DAZN will be the Wanderlei Silva vs. Quentin “Rampage” Jackson show in September in California. That show will be headlined with Gegard Mousasi defending the welterweight title against Rory MacDonald.

    - Lyoto Machida has verbally agreed to join Bellator MMA.

    - Michael Chandler’s contract with Bellator MMA expires soon and he is negotiating with them about a return but will be free to talk to UFC once his deal is up.

    - Following the Heavyweight Grand Prix that Bellator is currently running, Bellator wants to hold a Welterweight Grand Prix tournament.

    - Ronda Rousey’s former judo training partner and roommate and an Olympic gold medalist in judo, Kayla Harrison made her MMA debut for the Pro Fight League last week and won with…..a first round armbar. Uh oh……!!! She is only 27 so if she picks up MMA quickly, we could essentially have a monster on our hands. She is training at American Top Team so that immediately puts her ahead of the Rousey curve in that she is going to be training with people well above the level that Rousey trained at.

    - Congrats to UFC announcer Jon Anik as he and his wife celebrated the birth of their son Hunter last weekend.

UFC 226 is on Saturday, July 7th, 2018 from Las Vegas Nevada and the line-up is as follows:

  • Michael Chiesa vs. Anthony Pettis

  • Eddie Alvarez vs. Dustin Porier

    - THIS LINK is for LIFE. Thank you soldiers. WELCOME HOME BLOG.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week: This story is rocking the Bronx and everyone I know is heartbroken over it. It is sickening and I am mortified for my children’s future. I definitely need to move. So sad.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 1: Joe Jackson, patriarch of the Jackson family has passed away.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 2: Of course; another mass shooting. It has been a few weeks since the last one.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 3: Awwww…..poor baby is scared for his life in prison. LOLOLOLOLOL. F*ck this dude. He dragged a f*cking kid to his death and now he is scared? P*ssy.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 4: This would be an incredible addendum to the legendary story if it is proven true. D.B. Cooper found at last? I doubt it but it is entirely possible and the evidence kind of points in the right direction.

    - For those wondering how or if “Ant Man & The Wasp” connect to the Avengers films, you no longer have to wait till next weekend to find out as Marvel head Kevin Feige confirmed that the film connects directly to Avenger’s 4 next summer.

    - Luke Cage: Season 2 debuted on last week on Netflix. I finished it in about a week and was thoroughly impressed. It was a good show and I enjoyed it more than the first season which was excellent for the first 6 episodes or so until it fell off a cliff. No Marvel show has topped The Punisher yet in my eyes with Daredevil season 1 coming in at a close second (because I am a Punisher mark) but I liked what I saw from Luke Cage. What I don’t know however is why Netflix continues to want 13 episodes when 10 would do the show much better. Somethings are stretched on these Netflix series and they tend to drag a bit. Trim the fat. I am however fully committed if they run with a “Heroes for Hire” season based on Luke Cage and Iron Fist teaming up though. That would be fantastic.

-Netflix’s “Ozark” returns for season 2 on August 31st. Looking forward to it.

    - The 2nd season of G.L.O.W. debuted today on Netflix. I probably won’t watch it for a few weeks as I am just wrapped up Luke Cage and still have to catch up to Brooklyn Nine Nine as I am only a few episodes away from season 4. Have I mentioned how hilarious Nine Nine is?

    - The Mayans MC, a.k.a. The Sons of Anarchy spinoff on FX has a premiere date of Tuesday September 4th at 10:00 pm ET. That premiere date is incredibly significant as it is the ORIGINAL PREMIERE DATE of its predecessor Sons of Anarchy’s 10 years ago. So it is debuting on the 10th Anniversary of SOA. I am stoked for this.

    - WB announced that their DC Universe Streaming Service will launch beta testing in August before an official launch in the fall at some time. The service will launch with a Titans show as well as a Doom Patrol and a Swamp Thing series as well as animated series based on Harley Quinn and Young Justice: Outsiders.

    - Both actress Danielle Nicolet (Cecile Horton) and Hartley Sawyer (Ralph Dibny a.k.a. Elongated Man) have been promoted to series regulars on the Flash next season. Also making the team as a full time cast member is Jessica Parker Kennedy. She was seen in the finale and a few episodes before that as Barry and Iris’ speedster daughter from the future, Nora West Allen.

    - Actress Courtney Ford has been upgraded to series regular for season 4 of the CW’s “Legends of Tomorrow”. She plays the role of Nora Darhk, daughter of Damien Darhk.

    - Angela King, new showrunner for AMC’s “The Walking Dead “ has condfirmed that season 9 will in fact feature a time jump. If they are sticking to the comic books, it will likely match the two years of the comic book when “The War” with the Saviors ended to the following comics.

    - Actor Tom Holland has revealed that the title to the sequel to “Spider-Man: Homecoming” will be “Spider-Man: Far From Home”.

    - I just found out that Sean William Scott joining the Fox “Lethal Weapon” show will NOT be playing a recast of Clayne Crawford’s “Martin Riggs” and will instead be playing a new character partnering with Damon Wayan’s “Roger Murtaugh”. Um….WTF???

    - I am not understanding why anyone is considering this a “win” but Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba’s “Bad Boys” spin-off was picked up for a 13 episode season on Charter Communications “Spectrum Original Content” platform. Considering the show was originally going to be on NBC and NBC passed as well as the other major networks, this is a HUGE step backwards and doesn’t sound promising.

    - Jumanji 2, December 2019.

    - I need to go to the San Diego Comic Con one day. This year the entire cast of Breaking Bad is reuniting for a panel to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the show. That sounds AWESOME.
