T.G.I.F. with Matt Dawgs: #451

Good day to you all and welcome to We Want Insanity. I am your host for today, Matt Dawgs and this is my column. Today is the end of the work week and the time to look back at all the goings-on over the past seven days as I wrap it up with a bow and spout it out bit by bit. Buckle up. Enjoy the ride.

BONUS MATT NOTE: R.I.P. to former WWE Star Matt Cappotelli as he lost his battle with brain cancer at age 38. Cappotelli had a tough go of it as he was a co-winner of the ORIGINAL “Tough Enough” series in the 3rd season alongside John Hennigan a.k.a. John Morrison a.k.a. Johnny Mundo a.k.a. Johnny Impact. Cappotelli is probably best remembered by casual fans as the trainee who was abused unprofessionally by Bob Holly during training. Cappotelli was a “can’t miss” prospect that was potentially going to be a big star for the WWE. He was set to be finally called up to the main roster alongside The Miz to form a tag team called “Reality Check” since they were both former reality TV stars. According to the Miz, a few days after they were told about the call up, Matt called Miz to tell him about his brain cancer diagnosis. He told Miz that he wasn’t able to go to the main roster but he would beat cancer. The diagnosis came in 2005 and he was forced to retire. But in 2007, he received great news. He was told by the doctors that the cancer was gone and he had won. No, he wouldn’t be able to go back into wrestling but he would be able to live a normal life. Then, 10 years later on his 10th anniversary checkup, a new brain tumor was found. This tumor was bigger and more aggressive and more deadly. Doctors found that 10% of the cancer was on his brain stem and that they’d only be able to remove 90% of the mass but would have to battle the remaining cancer left with radiation and other treatments because it was too dangerous to operate. They also gave him a grim diagnosis, that the treatment likely wouldn’t be a success and that he was not going to live more than a year. He barely passed the year mark. Such a sad story as by all accounts, everyone who has ever met him has noted that he was one of the nicest and humblest people in all of wrestling and it is a shame he never got the opportunity to become a big star like he deserved.

- Morrison wrote: "My first best friend in the wrestling business and to this day one of the best people I’ve ever known Matt Cappotelli has passed on. I’m gutted about this news. Matt inspired everyone around him especially me early in my career. He is loved and will be missed."

- Matt Cappotelli’s RETIREMENT SPEECH.

WWE NEWS AND NOTES:

- RAW was live on Monday from Sioux Falls South Dakota on Monday. Although you wouldn’t know it since WWE made sure to NEVER mention it during the show. LOL.

- The show was decent. 3 hours is still too long but I have been living with it for several years now hence I will have to deal with it for several more. Sigh.

- I like the build to Lashley vs. Reigns. You see, this is why I always complain about giving away matches on free TV with no or little build. They have been slowly building to a singles match on PPV and it seems like a big deal. Both men are solid workers and I am looking forward to the match.

- Ziggler and McIntyre are growing on me. Admittedly I didn’t think I’d like them because I feared they’d bury Ziggler as usual hence bring down McIntyre a peg; but so far, so good.

- Ziggler & McIntyre vs. Rollins & Reigns could have potential to be a damn good program. Remember when the Shield was at their hottest and they’d main event Raw’s and PPV’s with six man tags until they broke up with Rollins heel turn? They need to go back to main eventing shows with tag and six man tag matches. Freshen things up.

- I really wish WWE would pull the trigger on a REAL Ironman match. 30 minute ironman matches are lame. Both Rollins and Ziggler are more than physically capable of going 60 minutes. It’s not like WWE doesn’t have enough time to go around. They can sacrifice an hour on RAW or a PPV for it. Either way, the Extreme Rules match should be solid.

- Question for you all. Hasn’t WWE been trying to get Roman across as a babyface to the eventual match with Lesnar again? I am asking because WWE went way out of their way to make him come across like a dick on RAW on Monday. His comments to Lashley made him seem unlikable. I am not complaining because I enjoyed the content but if WWE isn’t going to turn Roman heel, I don’t get the point of it.

- Dr. Shelby!! While he is awesome, these Bayley/Sasha segments were a cheap imitation of the Kane/Bryan ones. Thankfully it wasn’t Sami Zayn/Lashley sisters bad. But it was still bad.

- Authors of Pain. Sigh.

- Why is it that WWE creative does comedy very poorly week in and week out yet Kevin Owens is capable of pulling it off without a hitch for the most part? He gets the comedy part and makes it entertaining.

- DQ’s. DQ’s. DQ’s EVERYWHERE!!! The entire episode of RAW was built around two Roman Reigns tag team matches and both of them ended with a disqualification. How stupid is that? No one could come up with a creative finish?

- So let’s get this straight….Kurt Angle tells Kevin Owens that “This is Raw and difference are settled in the ring” on the very same show where Sasha Banks and Bayley are in counseling to settle their differences???? Huh?

- Constable Corbin. GROAN.

- So let’s get this straight….Kevin Owens is doing all he can to get out of a main event match on RAW vs. Braun Stroman on the very same show where Mojo Rawley decides he isn’t going to fight No Way Jose and just gets out of his match???? Huh?

- Despite her television suspension, WWE.com released a sit down interview with Ronda Rousey in which she noted that she has purchased a front row ticket for the “Extreme Rules” PPV and will be in attendance for the WWE Raw women’s title defense by Alexa Bliss against Nia Jax. So if she is “only suspended from RAW” but not “Extreme Rules” yet can buy a ticket for Extreme Rules but can’t compete, why can’t she buy a ticket for Raw? How do you suspend someone from buying a ticket for Raw?

- Not going to front, I LOL’d at the Porta Potty spot. Yes it was cheesy but sometimes wrestling can be cheesy and entertaining at the same time. That was it. GOLD.

- NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler was backstage at RAW on Monday as they were in her hometown of Sioux Falls South Dakota. She no longer lives there as she is in Orlando with the rest of the developmental talent but she has family and friends in the area.

- TEAM HELL NO. I don’t understand why they didn’t change it to Team Hell Yes but still, everything Bryan and Kane did on Tuesday was AMAZING. The arguing with Kane trying to justify all the things he did to Bryan all the way to the end where Kane said they were like brothers and Bryan pointed out that Kane has set the Undertaker on fire before and that is his real brother. SOLID GOLD.

- The Usos noting that Bryan and Kane got tag team titles shots by hugging and then hugging each other four times thus meaning that they should get four title shots in the future was hilarious.

- I don’t “get” Jeff Hardy and the face paint but readily admit that it looks good if that makes sense.

- Miz is extremely underrated as a wrestler. He isn’t the best worker on the roster but he does a lot of good things.

- I still don’t dig the Ellsworth/Asuka angle. I feel like Ellsworth and Carmella lost some chemistry since he was released to when he was brought back.

- I am torn. A.J. Styles is a great champion and should be the face of Smackdown for the long term future. That being said, I feel like Rusev is terribly misused and should have been a champion a long time ago. Do you strike while the iron is still a bit hot (because it has cooled down from a few months ago) or do you just job him and that is the end of that?

- Bryan is quickly becoming the best worker in the company again. I get that he wants to wrestle less matches per year but the most matches he works, the quicker he is moving back into being the best. The rust is shaking off.

- Still no Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Sin Cara match on Smackdown. Almas has not wrestled on television since May 22nd. LOL. What the f*ck WWE? He did wrestle Sin Cara in a dark match prior to Smackdown.

- Also being off TV for a while has been Samoa Joe as he hasn’t appeared on Smackdown since June 19th. It is amazing to me that Smackdown has less people on the roster and yet doesn’t get everyone on the show.

- Shinsuke Nakamura did not wrestle on the Japan tour as he was booked to due to the dog bite he received at a Smackdown live event last Monday. He will miss about two more weeks of action while he recovers but is expected to be able to return at Extreme Rules on Sunday, July 15th. He did go on the WWE tour of Japan last weekend and appeared in front of the live crowd to cut promos.

- Nakamura did note in an interview while promoting the Japan tour is that he hopes to wrestle Daniel Bryan at Mania 35. He noted that was literally the main reason he came to WWE when he signed was to get a chance to wrestle against Bryan.

- Ruby Riott has suffered a knee injury at a WWE live event on Friday of last week and it is significant enough that she was taken for an MRI/evaluation. She has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL which thankfully will NOT require surgery. WWE did not reveal how severe the strain is meaning she could be back in a few weeks but if a little more severe and requiring more It is unfortunate as WWE brass is high on her and she was in line for a significant push in the coming months. She missed the remainder of the live event tour over the weekend and was not backstage at RAW on Monday.

- Bray Wyatt was in a significant car accident over the weekend. He suffered some minor injuries but was unable to appear on RAW on Monday. TMZ is reporting that Wyatt was cited by law enforcement for the accident and he was at fault due to being “inattentive” while driving in a “careless manner”. No further details were provided but by the sound of it, he wasn’t paying attention to the road meaning he was likely texting or on the phone. He ended up smashing into a car in front of him. He is expected to wrestle at Extreme Rules defending the RAW Tag Team titles alongside Matt Hardy against The “B” Team.

- Apparently Sami Zayn’s torn rotator cuff has been torn since LAST AUGUST and he has been working through it. F*ck. Almost a year with the tear? That’s insane.

- Lars Sullivan will miss several weeks and possibly months as he has a broken jaw. I don’t know if he will have to get it wired shut but that is a painful injury and will need to be 100% healed before he is allowed physical contact.

- Congrats to Ronda Rousey as she was officially inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame yesterday in Las Vegas.

- Some very interesting comments have come out from a Daniel Bryan interview that was conducted in May with the “Gorilla Position” podcast on YouTube. Bryan was asked whether his longtime feud with the Miz would end up culminating at Wrestlemania 35 and Bryan noted that he’d be all for it but “Does the interviewer trust that the WWE creative ever shown the ability to carry a storyline for that long?” When the interviewer noted that the last time something similar happened with creative was Bryan’s Mania 30 storyline and Bryan countered that they had no choice because it fell into their lap accidentally. Bryan also made note that as excited as he was to come back, he was hoping that with his history of injury, he’d come back to a lighter schedule and ideally he’d want to wrestling between 50 - 100 matches per year and be away from the road less. He said that with the international tours, he has already missed his daughter’s birthday as well as mother’s day this year and he isn’t pleased that he has been working regularly. Those two comments alone lead me to believe that he is considering jumping on September 1st when his WWE contract expires. He has yet to sign a new deal and no negotiations have been going on. He is advertised for the WWE Network PPV from Melbourne Australia on October 6th but he isn’t locked in since he could essentially be gone by then.

- NXT Takeover shows are being moved to 7:00 pm ET start times. This new policy will begin with Takeover Brooklyn which I will be attending. The goal by WWE with this is NOT to make the show go longer but instead to have them end earlier than previous shows. So while the shows may be a bit longer, they won’t run late like past NXT shows.

- In an interesting turn of events, I may NOT be getting Alistair Black vs. Tommaso Ciampa at NXT Takeover Brooklyn in August. Instead, Black will defend against Ciampa on the July 25th TV taping which will be the set up for Takeover. So we may get Ciampa vs. Gargano again in the blow off to their feud.

- WWE confirmed on their website that they have signed japan star Io Shirai to a contract. She was sitting ringside during the WWE show in Sumo Hall in Tokyo last week. It is believed the will debut during the Mae Young Classic in August. Shirai is 28 years old and is believed to be the best women in ring performer in the world. Yes, better than Asuka. She also speaks fluent English.

- As noted last week, former TNA Knockout Chelsea Green best known as Laurel Van Ness and the girlfriend of Zack Ryder had a WWE Performance Center evaluation. She wasn’t the only person however as Terrell and Terrence Hughes, twin sons of WWE Hall of Famer Devon Dudley, CHIKARA star Thomas Stintsman a.k.a. Blaster McMassive, Rory Gulak the brother of 205 Live Star Drew Gulak, former NFL Star Terrence Barner (played for the NY Jets & Jacksonville Jaguars) and independent female La Rosa Negra also had tryouts.

- Say what you want about the WWE but they really have a hell of a lot of talented people on the roster and trying out for the company. In all honesty, they are legit set for a very long time. Just look at the names on the NXT roster as well as the ages of a lot of their talent on the main roster and the names of people who try out for the company. I don’t think they have ever had a talent roster this deep in company history.

- A major prospect at the tryout as well as 2018 ACC Heavyweight Wrestling Champion Jacob Kasper. Kasper is 6’3 and weighs 225 lbs. and has been compared physically to John Cena. Kasper’s brother Greg also attended the camp.

- Toni Storm has in fact signed with NXT U.K. and not NXT Classic. She will be remaining in the U.K. and continuing to take independent dates as she has not cancelled any of her bookings and has several shows coming up in the U.K. and Germany through December.

- In what could potentially be big news, WWE has been in talks to purchase EVOLVE from WWN. The plan is to purchase the promotion and continue to use it as a feeder system for NXT. They will continue to run as scheduled and have the tape library added to the WWE Network. Nothing has been finalized as of yet.

- Local advertising in San Antonio is promoting A.J. Styles defending the WWE Title at Hell in a Cell vs. Samoa Joe. This feud is going to be AMAZING.

- Mick Foley did a “one man show” in Pittsburgh last week to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of “Hell in a Cell”. The show was hosted by Jeremy Borash and was taped for a WWE Network special to air on September 18th following the annual “Hell in a Cell” PPV.

- Congrats to WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander as he was married over the weekend to independent female Aerial Monroe.

- Big birthday last week for WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk as he turned 74.

- Best wishes go out to WWE Hall of Famer Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat as he underwent hip replacement surgery earlier this week at age 65. He is now resting comfortably at home.

- Oliver Luck, the former president of NCAA Football who was hired by Vince McMahon to be the CEO and Commissioner of the XFL when it launches revealed that he plans on spending close to $500 million on the XFL within the first 3 seasons. The current plan is for salaries to hover around $75,000 per year with only more well-known athletes making more than that to start. The XFL will also set aside roughly $10 million for a broad based insurance plan to cover injuries.

- Luck has moved to Stanford Connecticut to be close to Vince McMahon and WWE Headquarters to help launch the promotion.

- Linda Hogan has filed a lawsuit against WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan claiming he has been hiding assets from shared business ventures since their divorce which she is entitled to 40% of. This has to be one of the worst divorce settlements in history because Hulk was forced to fork over 70% of their liquid assets, over $3 million in property as well as 40% of their earnings from joint businesses per year. OUCH.

- Chris Jericho revealed that he will be taping a LIVE podcast from his “Rock & Wrestling Rager” cruise with Rey Mysterio and Konnan discussing memories of Eddie Guerrero. That sounds awesome.

- WWE’s stock price has been hovering around $75 per share which means the company’s value is around $6 billion WOW.

WWE EXTREME RULES PPV is on Sunday, July 15th, 2018 from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and the line-up is as follows:

  • WWE RAW WOMEN’S TITLE: Alexa Bliss © vs. Nia Jax IN AN EXTREME RULES MATCH
  • Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley

  • Ring of Honor / New Japan / Lucha Underground / IMPACT WRESTLING / Independent / International News and Notes:

    - DOWN GOES CASTLE!!! ROH World Champion Dalton Castle, working through several serious injuries in the past several months LOST the ROH World Title at the television tapings on Saturday to Jay Lethal making Lethal only the 3rd person in ROH history to hold the title 2 times tying both Jay Briscoe and Adam Cole (BayBay!!!!). Many had expected Castle to drop the title to Cody the night before at the ROH “Best in the World” PPV especially considering NWA Champion Nick Aldis offered to defend the NWA title against Cody at “All In” on the condition that Cody have the ROH title and be willing to put it on the line as well. Lethal won the title in a four way involving Castle, Matt Taven and Cody. Lethal pinned Castle with the “Lethal Injection”.

    - That isn’t the only MAJOR story involving Jay Lethal however. Jay could become the first wrestling related “#MeToo” casualty as former Impact Knockout and ROH Women star Taeler Hendrix revealed via social media that she was allegedly removed from ROH Television last year due to Jay Lethal pulling strings to have her gone from the company following her refusal to have sex with him. Now I have known Lethal personally for a long time and find these allegations hard to believe but never say never in the wrestling business. I just hope that the truth, whatever that may be, comes out soon and that Lethal isn’t wrongfully punished for false claims or that he is punished if he in fact did what Hendrix claims. Either way, it is a bad spot for ROH to be in right now with their world champion.

    - Jody Fleisch and Johnny Storm will be teaming for the ROH Honor Re-United tour on August 18th and August 19th in Doncaster and London respectively.

    - Jimmy Havoc is also debuting on the next U.K. tour. Also appearing is Joe Hendry.

    - Deonna Purrazzo is “ALL OUT”. She has been removed from the “All In” card promoted by Cody and The Young Bucks on September 1st for “personal reasons”. In all honesty, she is unable to work the show because she has signed with WWE for NXT and will be reporting to Orlando at the Performance Center soon. It has NOT been officially announced by her or WWE that she has signed hence why no reason was given for her removal from “All In” but Cody noted that she is loved and a phenomenal talent.

    - Cody and the Young Bucks began announcing matches for “All In” with the first official match being announced. Kazuchika Okada will battle Marty Scurll one on one for the first time ever. Cody did note that he doesn’t expect to announce a full card prior to the show taking place. More match announcements are coming.

    - The latest on the Chris Jericho cruise as witnessed on “Being the Elite” (below) is that he is teasing teaming with the Young Bucks for the Chris Jericho Rock and Wrestling Rager Cruise in a six man tag match. Jericho when he originally announced the cruise wasn’t planning on wrestling since he had so much to organize and keep in order but now plans on working the wrestling portion of it.

    - Jericho also revealed the first match of the “Sea of Honor” tournament sponsored by ROH where the winner will get a title shot in the future. In the first round, Hangman Page will battle Frankie Kazarian.

    - Speaking of Kazarian, it was announced that So Cal Uncensored of Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky are…. “ALL IN”.

    - Major props to the Young Bucks as their Funko Pops were the highest selling item in ALL Hot Topic Stores nationwide this week.

    - IWGP Champion Kenny Omega was marred in some controversy over the weekend as he co-promoted a show in Daytona Beach Florida last Saturday which had some New Japan Pro Wrestling talent on the show. The controversy stemmed from him allowed Chasyn Rance work the opening match since he was part of the ring crew from the promotion in which he rented the ring from. For those who do not know, Rance is a convicted sex offender after pleading no contest to sex with a 15 year old when he was 25 back in 2011. The incident in question occurred in 2008. To add insult to injury, the person he was working against was convicted of domestic violence. Omega issued several apologies via social media and offered to refund anyone out of his own pocket that wanted one for the oversight. He noted that he had no idea of Rance’s background and the only reason they were on the card was because the promoter of the promotion that rented him the ring asked to have some of his guys on the card and Rance and his opponent were the best two workers. Omega noted that he doesn’t plan on ever using either of them again and will do background checks on everyone he doesn’t know moving forward.

    - The New Japan return to the U.S. on September 30th is scheduled to take place in Long Beach again. This is a lofty goal to run so soon after “All In” but the plan is for New Japan to run more shows per year in the U.S. as a way to build the brand here.

    - Longtime Japanese wrestling legend Hiroshi Hase is returning to the ring at age 57 to team with Taiyo Kea, Jinsei Shinzaki (Best known for being Hakushi of WWE fame) and Shinjiro Otana against 4 TBD opponents. Hase’s team will be managed by his longtime friend and tag team partner Kenji Muto. Muto a.k.a. The Great Muta is currently recovering from double knee replacement surgery.

    - Pentagon of AAA fame made his CMLL debut last weekend attacking Carastico in the main event of the show. His brother, Rey Fenix using the name “King Phoenix” debuted in CMLL a few weeks ago and is part of an “Invader” stable called Klan Kaoz and includes other former AAA talent that has debuted in CMLL including Sharly Rockstar formerly known as Charly Manson as well as Cibernetico now known as Ciber the Main Man and El Zorro now known as The Chris.

    - Well, it was fun while it lasted. Apparently L.A. Park is gone from CMLL as CMLL is now claiming that they are going to use anyone from AAA on their shows unless that are not on AAA television. That means that Penta OM and Fenix are ok for not but are going to have to go on hiatus from CMLL soon since they are booked on Triplemania in a few weeks for AAA. This seems like a dumb decision since Park has helped raise attendance as of late and been a legit draw for the promotion.

    - MVP revealed that he is no longer with MLW as a talent or as an agent. He does not know why he was let go from the promotion but his final MLW match, a “boiler room brawl” with Sami Callihan will air on MLW wrestling tonight. He does NOT have a no-compete clause and can wrestle anywhere, including for promotions that have television immediately.

    - MLW has announced that Shane Strickland will defend the MLW title on July 19th in Queens New York against Sami Callihan. If you haven’t heard by now, I will be in attendance for this show and they are certainly stacking it up.

    - Taiji Ishimori is being allowed to work for Impact even though he is signed with New Japan because he was working with them prior to signing and New Japan is ok with him fulfilling his commitments so long as it doesn’t conflict with dates he is needed for New Japan.

    - The latest episode of BEING THE ELITE.

NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING “COW PALACE SHOW” is TOMORROW NIGHT from San Francisco California and the line-up is as follows:

  • IWGP HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: Kenny Omega © vs. Cody
  • IWGP U.S. TITLE: “Switchblade” Jay White vs. Juice Robinson
  • IWGP JR. TITLE: Hiromu Takahashi © vs. Dragon Lee
  • Kazuchika Okada & Will Ospreay vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito & BUSHI
  • IWGP TAG TEAM TITLES: The Young Bucks © (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (EVIL & SANADA)

  • IMPACT WRESTLING “SLAMMIVERSARY PPV” is on Sunday, July 22nd, 2018 from Toronto Canada and the line-up is as follows:

  • IMPACT TITLE: Austin Aries © vs. Moose
  • HAIR VS. MASK MATCH: Sami Callihan vs. Pentagon
  • Johnny Impact vs. Rich Swann vs. Taiji Ishimori vs. Fenix
  • MMA News and Notes:

    - DOWN GOES HOLLOWAY!!! UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway was forced to pull out of his title defense tomorrow vs. Brian Ortega due to “concussion-like” symptoms. He was hospitalized on Monday and released on Tuesday but still had the symptoms Wednesday when UFC pulled him from the fight. His camp noted that the symptoms did not come from weight cutting which I find hard to believe since he had to have been cutting weight the week of the fight. This is the 3rd time in 2018 that a Max Holloway fight has been cancelled as he was forced to pull out of fights against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Frankie Edgar.

    - Ortega does not want a replacement fight for tomorrow as he plans on waiting for his title opportunity.

    - Ahead of what is possibly the biggest challenge to date for his Heavyweight title, UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic revealed that he is pleased with what he is being paid by UFC after some issues with his contract in his last few fights.

    - With Holloway vs. Ortega falling off the card, the buy rate is going to be tricky. The show was expected to be the biggest of the year unless Conor McGregor fights before year end or Brock Lesnar returns. The show was pegged to do above 500,000 buys. We will see if that number can hold up without a strong co-main event.

    - Paul Felder vs. Mike Perry has been bumped to the main card of UFC 226 tomorrow.

    - It is INTERNATIONAL FIGHT WEEK in Las Vegas. Michael Bisping, Kenny Florian and Karyn Bryant have been handling the desk duties since yesterday’s Hall of Fame and Fight Night and will do so tonight and tomorrow as well. It should be the biggest PPV buy rate of the year unless Conor McGregor or Brock Lesnar fight before years end. There is a STACKED show tomorrow night headlined by Stipe Miocic vs. Daniel Cormier.

    - Ronda Rousey was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame yesterday. Congrats to her and the rest of the inductees.

    - UFC is targeting Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagonedov for October. They are trying to seal the deal for that which will easily be the biggest UFC PPV of 2018 and possibly EVER.

    - In news that could be potentially devastating for not only UFC but WWE and other wrestling promotions as well is that the National Labor Relations Board has ruled that former UFC Star Leslie Smith’s claims against UFC have merit and that while they have to go to trial, it is believed that UFC fighters are NOT independent contractors and instead should be classified as employees. This would then lead to a court battle which Smith can sue UFC for claiming she was released from her contract for trying to unionize fighters since she was on a winning stream and was a top 10 contender at the time she was let go. If she successfully wins, WWE will in turn have a HUGE battle on their hands as tons of former employees would be able to sue as well as the current roster being able to unionize.

    - While no decision has been made as of yet, Josh Barnett has received offers from five different promotions to fight since leaving UFC.

    - With The Ultimate Fighter being cancelled, UFC has put up the TUF House for sale in Las Vegas with a $5,000,000 asking price.

    - UGH. For f*cks sake. Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions will hold their first ever MMA event and while no date or venue have been set, the main event is confirmed as Chuck Liddell will come out of retirement and take on also coming out of retirement, Tito Ortiz. This is so stupid and Liddell should be nowhere near a MMA cage ever again. Liddell has not fought since 2010 which was a terrible knockout loss to Rich Franklin. Liddell’s last MMA win was a decision victory against Wanderlei Silva back in….2007. SMH. Liddell is 2 – 0 against Ortiz with both wins coming via Knockout. But a 28 year old Liddell who was knocked out in his last 3 fights years ago vs. a younger than him Tito Ortiz who last fought and WON in 2017 should go to Ortiz, easily.

    - Another fairly big name has retired from the MMA business although in all honesty it should have happened a while ago as Josh Koscheck retired from MMA at the age of 40. Koscheck was a guy who you could almost always count on for a good fight. He was a warrior who could go toe to toe with the best of them until 2013 when he faced off with Robbie Lawler and was knocked out for the first time in his career. That knockout changed his career forever as he apparently lost his chin following the KO and lost his next 4 fights after than including 2 more knockouts.

    - Congrats to Donald Cerrone as his wife had their first child earlier this week.

    - Bellator MMA’s Scot Coker is expected to announce the participants in the upcoming Welterweight Grand Prix sometime in July.

    - UFC HALL OF FAMER MATT SERRA is AWESOME!!!

UFC 226 is TOMORROW NIGHT from Las Vegas Nevada and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Stipe Miocic © vs. UFC LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION Daniel Cormier ©
  • Francis Ngannou vs. Derrick Lewis
  • Michael Chiesa vs. Anthony Pettis
  • Khalil Rountree vs. Gokhan Saki
  • Paul Felder vs. Mike Perry
  • UFC ON FOX is on Saturday, July 28th, 2018 from Calgary Alberta Canada and the line-up is as follows:

  • Eddie Alvarez vs. Dustin Porier
  • Jose Aldo vs. Jeremy Stephens
  • Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Tecia Torres
  • UFC 227 is on Saturday, August 4th, 2018 from Los Angeles California and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE: T.J. Dillashaw © vs. Cody Garbrandt
  • UFC FLYWEIGHT TITLE: Demetrious Johnson © vs. Henry Cejudo
  • Alexander Gustafsson vs. Volkan Oexdemir
  • Cub Swanson vs. Renato Moicano
  • Polyanna Vianna vs. JJ Aldrich
  • UFC 228 is on Saturday, September 8th, 2018 from TBD and the line-up is as follows:

  • Yair Rodriquez cs. Zabit Magomedsharipov
  • Jimmie Rivera vs. John Dodson

    - THIS LINK is for LIFE. Thank you soldiers. WELCOME HOME BLOG.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week: Sh*t man, this is a crazy story. Incredible that they were found alive. I hope they can stay there for a few months and manage to remain safe.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 1: He’s not going to walk. I don’t think there is any chance that he avoids some sort of prison sentence. The length is questionable, but he doesn’t get off scot free.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 2: This is so sad to see happening. Terrible story. They were just vacationing and now she not only won’t dance again but likely won’t walk again in the immediate future, it at all.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 3: I’m sure this was a real tough challenge you stupid broad. Sigh. I will never understand the purpose of stuff like this. Hunting for food, yes. Hunting for sport? So dumb.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 4: Tough situation to be in. I don’t understand however why this has taken so long to come out. I also understand procedures and how some police are in fact trained but sometimes that has to get thrown out the window and situations like this are one of those times. A lot of lives could have been saved. I am not saying they should have run in blind but they absolutely should have done something differently and quickly.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 5: Legit cannot believe I read this. I am DYING to know the reasoning behind the manager’s thoughts on this. Mind blowingly stupid and insensitive if there isn’t more to this story.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 6: I will never ever understand why parents do stuff like this to their children. It is insanity to me as I will gladly lose my life for my kids.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 7: See….exact opposite of the article right above this. THIS is what parent should do for their kids. ALWAYS THIS.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 8: This accomplished absolutely NOTHING. I am all for protesting if it will do something. All this did was cause a circus around one of the most famous landmarks in the entire world. Nothing is going to come from this.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 9: Wait…what? The kid didn’t know how to swim yet went pool hopping with his friends who then left him to drown? That is what this story sounds like yet I didn’t see anything about that fact in the article. Um…hello Daily Mail, how about he was there with friends and yet still drowned. Did they know he drowned? Did they drown him? Did they call for help? Did they try to keep him from drowning? So much is missing from this story.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 10: While extremely sad that a 15 year old lost his life, it is good to see that an entire gang is being brought down because of it including the leader. That’s a good thing.

    - Ant-Man & The Wasp opens today. Likely seeing it on Sunday. Will let you know my thoughts next week but I did confirm that the mid-credits scene does in fact tie into Avengers: Infinity War.

    - “The Many Saints of Newark” is the title. Now if you are wondering what that is the title of, I will answer. It is the official title of the feature film prequel to “THE SOPRANOS”. New Line Cinema has just hired their director for the film in Alan Taylor who was a director of several episodes of the hit HBO show during its run. The film, produced and written by Sopranos creator David Chase, will take place in 1960’s Newark and will be about the life of Johnny Soprano, Livia Soprano and Uncle Junior Soprano during the face riots between African Americans and Italian residents in Newark New Jersey in July 1967 which saw 26 people killed and hundreds injured.

    - Apparently a time jump isn’t the only change in store for the upcoming season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” as apparently the cast is going to either be or end up in Washington D.C.

    - Actress Vanessa Kirby has joined the cast of the “Fast & Furious” spinoff “Hobbs & Shaw” starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. But that’s not the biggest news, it was revealed yesterday that actor Idris Elba has also been cast as the villain of the film. WOW.

    - Almost done with season 4 of “Brooklyn Nine Nine”. F*cking hilarious. So good.
