T.G.I.F. with Matt Dawgs: #420

Good day to you all and welcome to We Want Insanity. I am your host for today, Matt Dawgs and this is my column. Today is the end of the work week and the time to look back at all the goings-on over the past seven days as I wrap it up with a bow and spout it out bit by bit. Buckle up. Enjoy the ride.

IMPORTANT MATT NOTE:: I am hoping that you readers have taken the time to lend a hand and donated to the JAIDAN STRONG cause for me. I’d really appreciate it if you did; as little as $5 can go a long way. If not, it isn’t a big deal but please at least SHARE THE LINK. I get that finances can be tough for some but taking the time to share a link via your social media doesn’t cost a dime. I’d appreciate it greatly as one of your friends or family members may be able to help out. Thanks.

BONUS MATT NOTE: And the House of Cards has fallen. Netflix has announced that they will NOT resume filming of “House of Cards” so long as actor Kevin Spacey is attached to the show. It is up to HOC’s executive producers to decide if they will write him out or not but as of now, the show will not be returning in its current incarnation. Not only will the series either end for good or end without him but it appears that Spacey, one of the best actors of my generation, may be without a career period. In an unprecedented move, Director Ridley Scott who directed Spacey in the upcoming “All The Money In The World” film due in theaters on December 22nd and SONY pictures have decided to REMOVE SPACEY from the film. This is a huge deal as Spacey had he not been mired by this controversy was being talked about getting an Oscar nomination for the film for best supporting actor and the film was getting Oscar buzz for best picture. All of Spacey’s scenes will now be re-shot featuring actor Christopher Plummer and main co-stars Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams have agreed to come back to re-film their scenes with Plummer. WOW. Director Ridley Scott is aiming to film ASAP and still make the December 22nd release date.

WWE NEWS AND NOTES:

- Never have I ever been so excited to be wrong about something. For the past two weeks, Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega have been going at it via Twitter and I noted that if they were working an angle, it was because they were planning on wrestling on Jericho’s cruise next October. I said that because I couldn’t imagine Jericho wrestling anywhere else by WWE. Well I was 100% wrong because Chris Jericho sent a video to New Japan Pro Wrestling that aired over the weekend at the “Power Struggle” show in which he challenged Kenny Omega for a match at Wrestle Kingdom 12 in the Tokyo Dome on January 4th and Omega accepted.

- JERICHO CHALLENGES OMEGA.

- For those wondering what is Jericho’s status with WWE, he is NOT under WWE contract so he can wrestle where he chooses to wrestle. Despite not being under contract, Jericho did in fact approach Vince McMahon regarding this match and did get his blessing for it. It is believed that Jericho will be returning to WWE at some point in 2018 as he is not signed to New Japan past the one match at Wrestle Kingdom.

- Even though Jericho did speak to Vince to let him know about the Omega match, I also know there is some friction between Jericho and the company because he requested to have some NXT workers on his cruise in October 2018 and approached WWE first and they turned him down hence why he struck a deal with ROH to have them wrestle.

- Jericho had been working on this match since at least the summer and met with New Japan officials in New York in August. So this is NOT a spur of the moment thing.

- Smackdown featured a change of pace and the Survivor Series card got a major shakeup this week due to some title changes and a turn of events. Firstly, “The Phenomenal” A.J. Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to capture the WWE Title on Smackdown on Tuesday and will now go on to face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series next week. This change was made because Jinder Mahal’s shoulder is worse than anticipated and not only would a match with Brock not work to assist in his healing but he has also lost some steam with Vince McMahon who apparently isn’t pleased with Jinder not getting as over as expected/hoped for. Originally Vince was hoping for Jinder to heat up like JBL did back in the day and that has not yet happened yet despite their efforts. So going with Styles was the best route as he is super popular and will absolutely get a better match out of Brock than Jinder would have.

- With A.J. winning the title and moving onto face Brock Lesnar at the PPV, WWE has announced that John Cena will be replacing Styles on Team Smackdown.

- A.J.’s win actually put him down in the WWE history books for life as it marks the first time in company history that the WWE title changed hands outside of North America.

- The other major happenings is that Jason Jordan was announced as the final member of team Raw on Monday which was unexpected since the original line up in creative had Roman Reigns penciled in. This led to speculation that Reigns wouldn’t be back from his viral infection in time for Survivor Series. That idea however was shot down later during Raw when it was announced that Reigns will be returning next week on Raw in Atlanta. But later during RAW, the picture became clearer when Smackdown’s “The New Day” distracted Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in their tag team title defense against The Bar of Sheamus and Cesaro and thus cost them the tag team titles. This leads me to believe that we are going to get The New Day against The Shield at Survivor Series.

- I am not going to give a detailed Raw report this week other than the show was solid but I do question the ending of the show. I am ok with the Shield losing the tag team titles since it is scheduled to set up the Shield reunion match which was scheduled to take place at TLC and had to be changed due to Roman being hurt. That is fine. What I do question however is how in the world did The New Day get into the building since Angle noted that Smackdown was no longer welcome there after the #Undersiege incident? Let’s say for arguments sake they snuck in. Fine, I can live with that. My question is, how in the world did they get their hands on RAW MICROPHONES AND HOW COME THEY WEREN’T CUT OFF BY PRODUCTION!!!!

- On Raw this Monday, Bayley will face off in a triple threat match with Dana Brooke and Mickie James with the winner joining the women’s RAW team for Survivor Series.

- With Smackdown being in Charlotte North Carolina next week, there is talk of having Charlotte win the WWE Smackdown Women’s Title from Natalya (the match has been announced) and having her face Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series. There is also discussion about having Nattie cheat to retain the title and then doing the title switch the following weekend at the “Starrcade” live event in Greensboro North Carolina since her father Ric Flair is scheduled to be in attendance and it is also the same building where Ric captured his first world title from Harley Race thus making the live event all the more special.

- Just to show you the difference between Raw and Smackdown, RAW in Manchester was NOT sold out however had about 14,000 in attendance. Smackdown, the night after Raw in the very same building had an attendance of 3,500 with much of the building being tarped off and it was the smallest crowd EVER for a WWE televised event in the U.K.

- Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens were sent home from the European tour immediately following Smackdown on Tuesday for disciplinary reasons. Both men allegedly “went into business for themselves” instead of completing the required angle that they were booked to do. Following Zayn’s loss to Kofi Kingston, Zayn and Owens were supposed to jump Kofi only to get laid out by The New Day. That however did not happen as they rolled out of the ring and left instead of completing the necessary angle. WWE officials were hot about it as the angle was supposed to build The New Day up for their coming match with The Shield at Survivor Series. No word on if there will be future repercussions stemming from it other than them not completing the European tour thus not being paid for the remainder of the dates. We will see on Tuesday if they are being brought back to television or not if there are further repercussions. In all honesty,

- In an effort to get into ring shape for Survivor Series, Kurt Angle teamed with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in a six man tag against The Bar and Samoa Joe at the WWE Live Event in Birmingham on Tuesday.

- In other weird news, Triple H made an independent wrestling appearance at Insane Championship Wrestling in in Scotland last weekend since WWE was on tour in the area. ICW is one of the European promotions that WWE works closely with and has a working relationship with since they loaned them Finn Balor for an appearance last year to replace Mick Foley who was commissioner of the promotion and had to pull out of a show last minute due to WWE needing him for a PPV. They sent Finn as a surprise make good since Balor used to wrestle there regularly before signing with WWE.

- Monster Among Men. Empress of Tomorrow. The Architect. The Most Must See TV Superstar Ever.

- It appears that the Bludgeon Brothers may be done. They were “debuting” on the European Tour this week and came out for a live event with their new gear and new music. The next night and for the remainder of the tour they came out in their old Wyatt Family gear and to Luke Harper’s old music. Weird.

- I am hoping and praying that we witnessed the END of the James Ellsworth/Carmella pairing on Smackdown this week. I am fine with Ellsworth being a part of the roster as he has a purpose but he and Carmella have ran their course. It is time for her to shine on her own. I would be ok with him moving to 205 Live and being paired as Enzo’s lackey as I see some potential there.

- To all aspiring independent wrestlers out there that one day want to make it to WWE, please do yourself a favor and copyright your gimmicks if you want them saved because as you may or may not know, unless you do, WWE can blatantly steal it despite however long you have been using it for and make it their own. Remember, if it didn’t happen on WWE television then it didn’t happen at all. Two examples of this has come out in the past two weeks. Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallaher called themselves “The Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” on 205 Live which is a longtime independent tag team here in the North East and friends of mine known as E.C. Negro and K.C. Blade. This past week on Smackdown, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were billed by Michael Cole as “The Best Friends” which is the name that Chuck Taylor and former WWE Star Trent Barretta have used for YEARS.

- Corey Graves and Piers Morgan were involved in a verbal dispute via Twitter following Graves name dropping him on RAW. I’d recap it here but it is Corey Graves and Piers Morgan so I won’t. Translation, not important enough for me to type out. Go to Twitter and see for yourself.

- Austin Aries was the special guest on Talk is Jericho this week and revealed the fact that he did NOT request his release from WWE but was released because creative had nothing for him. He noted that while he wasn’t 100% happy with creative since he felt as a babyface he should not have lost to Neville 4 consecutive times, he was happy in WWE and did not want to leave. He also said he had no issue with not being on the Mania DVD because he actually didn’t even know about it until fans tweeted him.

- it is expected that former Impact star Rockstar Spud has signed with WWE and is in the process of getting a new work visa so he can begin in NXT once that is set.

- WWE has released Leo Gao, one of their Chinese developmental talents from his contract over the weekend. He had been under contract since 2016 but has never appeared on television.

- Congrats to the former KENTA a.k.a Hideo Itami as he will be called up to 205 Live shortly. Despite him not living up to expectations when he was originally signed, he will still be one of the best technical wrestlers in that division and hopefully be granted a proper push since he is going to fly under the radar on 205 Live rather than be buried on the main roster on either Raw or Smackdown.

- Also released was final Tough Enough winner Josh Bredl a.k.a. Bronson Matthews, He had been with the company for 2 years and had not been used as well as suffered a few injuries. The injuries were not officially disclosed but it is believed that they were concussion related hence why he was kept on salary after his one year, $250,000 contract expired as he has been under a deal since 2015.

- Ronda Rousey is training regularly at the WWE Performance Center and it is not being kept a secret as she is training alongside Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke and taking regular classes with the rest of the trainees. As of now, Horsewomen vs. Horsewomen is scheduled for Wrestlemania.

- Big Cass confirmed that he is on schedule regarding his rehab of his knee however he will NOT make it in time for Wrestlemania and will be returning sometime shortly after that.

- Former WWE Superstar Emma noted that she will begin taking independent bookings on February 1st, 2018. She will be wrestling under her real name of Tenille Dashwood.

- Hulk Hogan talk of returning to WWE is back on the table. Nothing has been set in stone but you can figure with the 25th Anniversary of Raw coming in January, you can imagine WWE wanting all hands on deck for that show since it is supposed to be a “super show” of epic proportions.

- Yesterday marked the 20th Anniversary of “The Montreal Screwjob”. Wow. 20 years.

- The famous Pontiac Silverdome, home of Wrestlemania III where Hogan slammed Andre is scheduled to be demolished on December 3rd.

- The rules for War Games in NXT next weekend are as follows. All three teams will be locked in shark cages at the beginning of the match thus a “three way dance”. After five minutes of action, one team will have their remaining two members enter the cage thus setting up a 3 on 1 on 1 advantage. Following 3 more minutes, an additional team will have their remaining members enter the cage. So it will be 3 on 2 on 1. After 3 minutes, the remaining members will enter the cage to even up the odds and only then the match can end by EITHER pinfall or submission.

  • GLOBAL FORCE IMPACT WRESTLING NEWS and NOTES:

    - Impact put out a casting call earlier this week……FOR AUDIENCE MEMBERS. Yes, they offered to pay people $12 per hour for 4 hours per day for 4 days this week for their television tapings. Think about that for a minute. They want to pay people to watch their product. Not for the life of me I cannot imagine a much bigger sign than that of wrapping it up and calling it a day. Seriously, WTF? Look at it from this perspective….let’s say they get 100 people to sign up for all 4 days. That’s roughly $200 per person. $200 per person X 100 people = $20,000. For a company that is hemorrhaging money at a rapid pace and trying to cut all costs they possibly can including using a “body double” at the BFG PPV because they didn’t want Homicide coming in a day early thus not having to pay him a day early, this is NOT the smartest business decision.

-Alberto El Patron returned at Bound For Glory and proceeded to not only return as a heel even though he left as a babyface but he cut a promo complaining that Impact turned their back on him because he was charged with domestic violence. LOL. Someone thought this was a good idea. Actually, multiple people probably thought this since I am sure it went through multiple approval levels before him cutting it. This company, my god.

    - As part of his return, Alberto has it written into his contract that he has a private dressing room at all Impact events. I am sure this is looked upon nicely by his fellow wrestlers.

    - In a sign that the end may be near for Impact as a company, Bram has been released from ALL of his multi-year contracts with the company.

    - Earl screwed Earl? No honestly, I don’t know if that is true or not but I do know that Earl Hebner is gone from Impact wrestling. Actually, all of their referees were let go for various reasons and a whole new staff of referees are being used moving forward.

    - Jesse Godderz is also done with Impact.

    - Sami Callihan made his Impact debut at Bound for Glory on Sunday helping OVE retain their tag team titles against LAX. For those wondering where Homicide was during the match and then saw a man lying under a Mexican flag backstage that was supposedly Homicide, it wasn’t. Homicide was not in the building and did not come to the show until Monday. LOL.

    - The former Santino Marella was shown on camera during the PPV event. He is NOT signed to TNA and was just visiting the show.

    - Jimmy Jacobs did in fact appear at Bound for Glory and is expected to be working there for the immediate future. It is interesting because he is also scheduled to be working for Ring of Honor.

    - Congrats to Gail Kim as she wrestled what was likely her last ever match unless she does some sort of retirement tour as she captured the Knockouts Title at BFG in a three way defeating Sienna and Allie and then forfeited the title at the Impact tapings leading to a women’s tournament being announced. Kim’s goal was to win the title and then retire as champion.

    - One of the reasons Taryn Terrill chose to leave Impact is because she has visa issues and is unable to get into Canada where they plan on taping all events moving forward as they are going to move their headquarters out of Nashville soon and into Toronto.

    - Wrestlecade, the annual North Carolina wrestling convention/show weekend that is going head to head with WWE’s “Starrcade” live event in the same city will be streamed live on the Global Wrestling Network

Ring of Honor / Lucha Underground / Independent / International News and Notes:

    - In case you missed it in the WWE section, Kenny Omega will battle Chris Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom in January at the Tokyo Dome. WOW. The match will in fact be a title match for Omega’s New Japan Pro Wrestling United States championship. The full Wrestle Kingdom show line-up is below.

    - JERICHO CHALLENGES OMEGA.

    - Despite his contract expiring shortly after Wrestle Kingdom, no one in any promotion believes that Omega will be leaving New Japan this year. He will likely sign a new one-year deal before Wrestle Kingdom even takes place.

    - New Japan also announced that they are returning to the United States for a show in Long Beach California on March 25th. They will be hosting the show at the Walter Pyramid at Long Beach University which seats 5,000 people. Last year’s event took place in a 2,300 seat building which sold out almost immediately and a ton of people were left out.

    - Happy Birthday to IWGP Champion Kazuchika Okada as he turned 30 on Wednesday.

    - Omega’s match for “Survival of the Fittest” has been announced as he will team with fellow Bullet Club member and ROH Champion Cody and face “Bad Influence” of Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian.

    - Also making an appearance on the show is “Arrow’s” Green Arrow a.k.a. Stephen Amell.

    - Despite all signs pointing to him joining WWE in January, Ricochet has unfinished business on the independent scene according to Will Ospreay as Ospreay tweeted their head to head record against each other and they have wrestled 1 on 1 a total of 10 times in their careers with each of them winning 5 times. So Ospreay wants a tie breaker before Ricochet is done on the independents.

    - BREAKING NEWS: El Rey Network has ANNOUNCED that Lucha Underground has in fact been renewed for a 4th Season. Filming is expected to commence filming in early 2018 for airing later in 2018.

    - The LU news is certainly going to make some LU talents displeased since many of them were hoping that by not coming back, they’d be able to get out of their exclusive contracts and work for other television promotions like WWE, Impact and ROH. That is now no longer a possibility.

    - Davey Richards revealed that he does not plan on wrestling in 2018 and will focus on his education and studies in medicine as he is looking to be a doctor. He did note that he plans on wrestling again starting in 2019.

    - CMLL Star Shocker was arrested in Mexico earlier this week for allegedly assaulting a prostitute in a hotel.

    - Longtime AAA Heavyweight star Mesias a.k.a. Mil Muertes of Lucha Underground fame had both of his knees operated on last week and will be out of action for a significant amount of time.

    - ROH’s “Final Battle” is SOLD OUT from the Hammerstein Ballroom on December 15th.

ROH “FINAL BATTLE” PPV is on Saturday, December 15th, 2017 from New York City and the line-up is as follows:

  • ROH TITLE: Cody © vs. Dalton Castle
  • The Briscoes (Mark & Jay) vs. Bully Ray & Tommy Dreamer IN A STREET FIGHT
  • ROH TV TITLE: Kenny King © vs. Punishment Martinez vs. Silas Young vs. Shane Taylor
  • Marty Scurll vs. Jay Lethal
  • The Addiction (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) vs. War Machine (Hanson & Rowe)
  • ROH TAG TEAM TITLES: The Motor City Machine Guns © (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelly) vs. The Kingdom (Matt Taven & T.K. O’Ryan) vs. Chuckie T & Trent Baretta
  • NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING’S WRESTLE KINGDOM 12 is on Sunday, January 4th, 2018 from Tokyo Japan and the line-up is as follows:

  • IWGP WORLD TITLE: Kazuchika Okada © vs. Tetsuya Naito
  • IWGP INTERCONTINENAL TITLE: Hiroshi Tanahashi © vs. Switchblade (Jay White)
  • IWGP UNITED STATES TITLE: “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega © vs. “Lionheart” Chris Jericho
  • ROH WORLD TITLE: Cody © (Should he still be champion) vs. Kota Ibushi
  • IWGP JUNIOR TITLE: Marty Scurll © vs. Will Ospreay vs. KUSHIDA vs. Hiromu Takahashi
  • IWGP JUNIOR TAG TEAM TITLES: Roppongi 3K (Sho & Yoh) © vs. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)
  • MMA News and Notes:

    - Unprecedented history was made on Saturday night as 3 championships changed hands at UFC 217 with the most important being that of UFC Middle Championship as George St. Pierre defeated Michael Bisping to capture the title via tap out in round 3 due to a rear naked choke. GSP, looking bigger than he has ever has physically, did in fact have to shake off some rust and some speed issues. Bisping won round 1 in a back and forth round. Round 2 saw GSP begin to take over the fight only to lose the round late due to him taking down Bisping and mounting him however Bisping was destroying him from his back in the guard and cut GSP open above the eye. The 3rd round however was mostly GSP winning until he floored Bisping with a punch rocking him and then pounced on him with vicious elbows. Eventually, in an effort to escape, Bisping gave up his back and GSP locked in a choke. Bisping passed out and the referee stopped the fight. Bisping even noted after the fight that the only reason he did not tap out to the choke was because he passed out before he could tap but he admitted he was done as he had no way out that choke and was on the verge of tapping before going unconscious.

    - In a major upset, Rose Namajunas knocked out UFC Women’s Straw Weight Champion Joanna Jedrzeczyk in the first round of their fight to capture the title. This one was a complete shock as no one saw it coming and Namajunas was so impressive that Joanna actually tapped out to the strikes a she was hurt and overwhelmed by Rose.

    - Finally, T.J. Dillashaw recaptured the UFC Bantamweight Championship that he lost to Dominick Cruz by defeating Cody Garbrandt via 2nd round knockout. He handed Garbrandt his 1st career loss. He also crapped over his former Team Alpha Male teammate noting that he isn’t getting a rematch because when he lost his title to Cruz, he lost by split decision and did not get an immediate rematch. Instead of bitching and moaning though, he took it like a man and worked his way up to his title shot. He noted that he won over Garbrandt in convincing fashion and thus, the same rules should apply. He said he would like a shot at Demetrious Johnson at Fly Weight and he would be willing to drop down to take the fight. Following the event, UFC President Dana White said he is ok with that if he can make the fight happen.

    - In other news from UFC 217, Johnny Hendricks needs to call it a career. He is DONE as he was knocked out by Paulo Costa in the 2nd round of their fight. It was the last fight of his UFC deal and I cannot imagine for the life of me him being re-signed to a new deal. Bellator, here he comes.

    - Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson defeated Jorge Masvidal by decision and could get himself back into the Welterweight title hunt with another win.

    - Future Star killer Mickey Gall suffered his first loss in MMA by unanimous decision to Randy Brown. Gall was making a name for himself by calling out and defeating CM Punk and then following that up with an impressive win over Sage Northcutt.

    - UFC is going to have a sh*t fit over THIS INCIDENT and sadly there has to be some form of punishment over it. Whether fine or suspension or BOTH. Conor, dude, you are killing me.

    - And just like that, the storied career of Anderson "Spider" Silva will likely come to an end with a whimper as Silva was flagged earlier today for a USADA violation in an out of competition drug test administered on October 26th. Silva has been pulled from his November 25th UFC Fight Night bout in Shanghai against Kelvin Gastelum. Being that this is Silva's 2nd career drug test failure, he will likely receive a 3 year ban from the sport thus forcing him into retirement since a comeback at age 46 after a 3 and a half year absence from fighting is probably something he will not be able to pull off.

    - While no official confirmation has been given by UFC, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier has noted that his next title defense will be against Volkhan Oezdemir.

    - DOWN GOES EDGAR!!! Frankie Edgar has withdrawn from his UFC 218 fight against Max Holloway due to an undisclosed injury. Edgar will be cleared to fight in about 12 weeks or so. A verbal deal has been agreed to between Hollway and Jose Aldo for the title.

    - DOWN GOES CRUZ!!! Dominick Cruz has withdrawn from his UFC 219 fight against Jimmie Rivera due to an injury. Cruz broke a bone in his arm and will be unable to fight for several months. Rivera is looking to get a replacement for Cruz as he’d like to fight before year end.

    - Holly Holm vs. Cris “Cyborg” Justino isn’t happening anytime soon. Holm’s manager said the fight is dead. UFC was trying to schedule it for the December 30th show in Las Vegas but they couldn’t come to financial terms

    - Stacked UFC Fight Night tomorrow from Norfolk that my brother and cousin are attending in person. They have a super main event on paper with Anthony Pettis vs. Dustin Porier and an undercard featuring Diego Sanchez vs. Matt Brown, Joe Lauzon vs. Clay Guida, Sage Northcutt, Nate Marquardt, Court McGee, John Dodson, Andrei Arlovski, Rafael Assuncao and more in action.

    - Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has once again signed a multi-fight deal with Bellator MMA.

    - Bellator MMA has also announced a Heavyweight “Grand Prix” Tournament featuring a who’s who of names in MMA. The tournament will crown a new Bellator MMA Heavyweight Champion with the new champion being crowned in December 2018 which is a year from now. The tournament will feature:

  • Fedor Emelianenko
  • Frank Mir
  • Roy “Big Country” Nelson
  • Matt Mitrione
  • Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion Ryan Bader
  • Quinton “Rampage” Jackson
  • Mohammed “King Mo” Lawal
  • ”The American Gangster” Chael Sonnen
  • - No brackets have been announced for the tournament but there will absolutely be some size and power mismatches as Sonnen is a Middleweight and Bader, Jackson and Lawal are all light Heavyweights.

    - The last Bellator Heavyweight Champion, Vitaly Minakov was stripped of his title in May of 2016 after having last defended it in April of 2014.

    - Last week we had what could have been a huge blow to the sport of MMA take place on AXS TV as Legacy Fighting Championships was presenting a show that saw fighter C.J. Hancock during his fight have both his heart and kidney’s stop working on him in the middle of a fight and he was clinically dead in the middle of the cage before being resuscitated. The organ failure was due to his tough weight cut that saw him fighting in the 175 lb. division yet entered the cage at 209 lbs. He was informed by doctors that he should never fight again following the incident.

UFC 218 is on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 from Detroit Michigan and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE: Max Holloway © vs. Jose Aldo
  • Henry Cejudo vs. Sergio Pettis
  • Alistair Overeem vs. Francis Ngannou
  • Eddie Alvarez vs. Justin Gaethje
  • UFC ON FOX is on Saturday, December 16th, 2017 from Winnipeg Canada and the line-up is as follows:

  • Robbie Lawler vs. Rafael dos Anjos
  • Ricardo Lamas vs. TBD
  • Glover Teixeira vs. Misha Cirkunov
  • Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Jared Cannnonier
  • Tim Elliott vs. Justin Scoggins
  • Chad Laprise vs. Galore Bofando
  • John Makdessi vs. Abel Trujillo
  • UFC 219 is on Saturday, December 30th, 2017 from Las Vegas Nevada and the line-up is as follows:

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 1: 4 years seems kind of light form someone who planned out a murder. Just saying.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 2: Frightening to see this article. Aaron Hernandez could have certainly had a drastically different life if it wasn’t for football.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 3: Completely avoidable. No excuse for this happening at a school that was made aware in advance of the allergy. It is such a tragic shame. I hope the school gets sued for everything and closes down.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 4: Good f*cking riddance. Glad he was found guilty and looking forward to him spending an eternity in jail. Side note: Nicki Minaj was reached before he went on trial by the family to pay them off to go away. Now that 100% sounds like extortion but with that being said, I bet she wishes she would have paid them off now huh?

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 5: I am still flabbergasted that this has not been replicated yet. You’d think they’d deem something like this important enough to try and perfect.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 6: P*ssification of America continues and spreads to my home city. SMH. This country, I swear. Ugh.

    - BONUS Random ARTICLE of the week PART 7: Damn Sammy, what the hell happened to you man? Where is your self-esteem?

    - In news that will almost certainly shake up not only the Marvel Cinematic Universe but film and entertainment in general, Walt Disney Co. is in discussions to purchase 21st Century Fox. A deal of that size would shake up Hollywood and television/entertainment and likely make Disney the richest company in the World. It will also cause the Marvel Entertainment to gain back the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises. Fox will retain all of their news and sports channels and franchises. They will also retain the Fox television station as anti-trust policies would keep Disney from taking over the station since they already own ABC.

    - In addition to regaining the rights to their characters, Disney would also acquire the rights to Avatar, Planet of the Apes, the Ice Age franchises and more.

    - Lucas Film has announced that they have come to terms with director Rian Johnson to direct a new Star Wars Trilogy that will be separate from the story of the Skywalker family and will introduce a new set of heroes and stories from an entirely different era from the main Star Wars franchise. It was also confirmed that a Live Action television series based on the Star Wars Universe is also on the way for Disney’s new streaming service set to launch in 2019.

    - Thor: Ragnarok is NOT the best Marvel film of all time. I saw a lot of reviews saying that. With that being said, it is still EXCELLENT. I loved it. It is the funniest Marvel film ever surpassing both Guardians of the Galaxy films and definitely good from an action standpoint. It does have consequences to the MCU which is a complaint that many people have been having about Marvel. I highly recommend it and it is cleaning house at the box office with a global $427 million opening weekend, $121 million of that being the United States alone. WOW. The film is now at $500 million and counting worldwide.

    - Justice League opens next weekend and while I am not as enthusiastic about it as I was for Thor, I do plan on seeing it at some point next weekend so I should have my thoughts on it the following week.

    - Another solid episode in the “All Out War” on the Walking Dead. There was lots of stuff happening with a fairly slow build. I know people want and expect all action all the time.

    - Actor Wentworth Miller revealed that he is currently filming his final episodes as Leonard Snart a.k.a. Captain Cold for CW’s “Arrowverse” this week. He is filming episodes for both Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash where he originated the role of the character.

    - American Idol makes its return to television on Sunday, March 11th on ABC. The show will be 2 hours every Sunday until the finale with Ryan Seacrest returning as host and new judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan.
