T.G.I.F. with Matt Dawgs: #185

Good day to you all and welcome to We Want Insanity. I am your host for today, Matt Dawgs and this is my column. Today is the end of the work week and the time to look back at all the goings-on over the past seven days as I wrap it up with a bow and spout it out bit by bit. Buckle up. Let's go...

MATT NOTE: This probably should be in the MMA section but I know that not everyone reads it so I am posting it HERE . Some billionaire needs to make this happen on PPV as soon as humanly possible. I’d pay $100 to see this.

- CODE RED!!!! WWE Champion CM Punk underwent emergency knee surgery on Tuesday in Florida at the hands of renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews. The word out of WWE Headquarters is that the surgery was always planned for Tuesday and was to repair damaged cartilage in the knee which was causing his knee to lock up. The beating Ryback gave Punk to close RAW was used as the storyline to write Punk out. Punk has officially been removed from the TLC PPV and Ryback will now team with Daniel Bryan and Kane to battle The Shield in a TLC match where the match must end by pinfall or submission (which kind of makes the ladders obsolete no?) Punk had volunteered to still work the TLC PPV as a knee being scoped only takes a few weeks to heal and he has about 12 days of recovery time. Many NFL players have a knee scoped and are playing within days but WWE feels that it is more important to not risk further damage and have him ready for the Royal Rumble PPV vs. The Rock. Punk and Paul Heyman will remain on WWE television during his rehab.

- In my opinion, Punk getting surgery is the best thing that happened to Ryback because honestly, he was going to lose at TLC anyway and him failing to win the title on 3 consecutive PPV’s would not have been good. Now, he can walk out of a PPV main event with a victory.

- Punk being HELPED OUT following RAW.

- Normally I start off this column discussing whatever the major happening on RAW was or how three hours is way too long for this show (I will get to THAT in a minute) but today I need to start off this column emphasizing how F*CKING AWFUL MIZ IS AS A BABYFACE!!! In my history of watching professional wrestling which is spanning 30 years now, I do not think I have ever seen someone so forced into playing a role that he obviously has no idea how to play. As a babyface, Miz is a thousand times more obnoxious than he was as a heel and this is not a good thing. He is completely unbearable and as someone who claimed to have watched wrestling since before he was on the Real World, Miz has no idea what to change or how to change it in order to complete his turn to fan favorite. It is sickening to watch.

- FYI… Punk burying Miz while cutting his promo was 100% unscripted and factual. Punk absolutely HATES Miz and goes far enough to say it in his DVD that is now out.

- Now, onto RAW being 3 hours. RAW on Monday was a decent show. There was some good in ring action, some decent storyline advancement and the show seemed to flow nicely. Problem is, it is still 3 hours and as a fan, I cannot sit still throughout that show without wanting to change the channel. Sure, there isn’t anything else worth watching during that time frame (I am not a big football fan) but it is just too much. I completely get how the 3rd hour has been dropping in the ratings at a rapid pace. Me, as a fan can’t sit through it so I can imagine what a casual fan is going through.

- Apparently WWE is very high on Dolph Ziggler and 2013 is set to be a breakthrough year for him. With that being said, he HAS to win at TLC. Two straight clean pinfall jobs to John Cena on RAW leading up to their PPV match? A ladder match for his MITB briefcase? Ziggler HAS TO win. HAS TO.

- Quick question by the way. Why did WWE do a knee injury angle with John Cena on RAW two weeks ago yet he wrestled on The Main Event, Smackdown and this week’s RAW following the “injury”?

- Antonio Cesaro looked fantastic on RAW Monday. The four-way with Cesaro, Wade Barrett, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth was a damn good match. PPV quality and the finish was awesome. Cesaro dead lifting Kofi into his finisher was GOLD.

- The Shield randomly attacking people = GOOD. The fact that Dean Ambrose isn’t speaking weekly = NOT GOOD. Give the man a mic and move out of the way.

- The Shield’s in ring debut was always scheduled to be at TLC. They were going to face Daniel Bryan/Kane and another partner (hence why they jumped both Miz and Orton in recent weeks) in a tables match.

- The Shield are likely done with NXT. Well Dean Ambrose was always done as he has NEVER been on NXT at all. Once FCW closed, he has been traveling with the main roster on WWE. But Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are likely done as Rollins lost the NXT title last night at the television tapings to Big. E. Langston.

- CM Punk continues to play an entertaining heel. Problem is, fans are losing interest. He needs someone to play off of on the mic and Ryback absolutely isn’t the answer. WWE threw Miz at him this week but again, Miz is so f*cking abysmal that it didn’t work. Punk playing his cocky, over confident, swarmy heel without a babyface that can hold his own on the mic is boring.

- Brad Maddox is actually pretty entertaining on the mic. Randy Orton just throttled him in the ring though. I don’t know if it was more part of the metamorphosis of Orton back into his heel persona which the turn is coming soon or if it was just Orton being Orton but he was stiffing the sh*t out of Maddox.

- Absolutely no purpose for Vince McMahon to be on RAW this week. He likely made the call to be on RAW to help boost the ratings which dropped significantly last week in his absence. Even Vince is a player of the game however because his segment led the second hour which traditionally since the 3 hour RAW’s began, has been the peak of the program. So when the ratings come in and show a spike right as his segment starts, he is going to take credit for it when the fact is, it would have spiked without him. He should have ended the show which would have been a real test. But he is a smart man and is going to take credit for the boost his segment brought.

- Damien Sandow is awesome. He would have been a major player in the 80’s with this gimmick. I kind of feel cheated though as he and Cody Rhodes were a good duo and with Rhodes out until 2013, they aren’t going to get the run they could have as it is unlikely WWE will go back to them when he returns.

- WWE has some good prospects right now ready to get in the main event picture. With Ziggler, Sandow, Barrett & Cesaro as well as the Shield being added to the mix and you have a lot of fresh faces in that group. Hopefully WWE doesn’t bury them like they normally do and let them run with the ball.

- A.J. Lee is hot. Nothing else to say.

- Where is 3MB? Are they being de-pushed?

- Anyone know when Christian is coming back? He seems like he has been out forever.

- No specific details explaining what happened or why but Rey Mysterio was not on RAW on Monday and has been pilled from all upcoming appearances on RAW on the WWE website. Internally WWE sources are saying that he was given time off to deal with some “personal matters”.

- You may or may not have noticed by WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres has not been used in a wrestling capacity for the past few weeks. The reason floating backstage is that she is nursing an undisclosed injury. More attention has been brought to that theory over the weekend as she did very little at WWE Live Events. She worked a three way match on Friday where she did very little and then in a tag team match where she walked out on her partner without tagging in.

- WWE is filming their annual "Tribute to the Troops" show this weekend in Norfolk Virginia at the naval base there and Mark Henry is traveling with them. No word on whether he is just there for the show or back on the road full time. Henry is a big supporter of our troops so he may just be there for the show.

- Former WWE Head of Talent Relations, Mr. John Laurinaitis returned to WWE this week as he was out of action recovering from rotator cuff surgery. Laurinaitis was backstage at RAW this week in an official capacity as he is now the lead agent when it comes to talent.

- The Undertaker spoke to Vince McMahon and Triple H late last week and CONFIRMED that he plans on wrestling at Wrestlemania in April. So the speculation is no more as he will be working the show.

- THIS PG SH*T has got to stop. Ugh.

- WWE.com has sold out more than once of “I’m A Paul Heyman Guy” t-shirts. That is awesome.

- Former WWE talent Tyler Reks has taken to Twitter to talk about some of the wrongs in WWE and one of the major ones is John Cena. Reks is one of the many former WWE lower card talents that has slammed John Cena and his behavior which include Kenny Dykstra, Antonio Tarver and now Reks. It is also well known that current WWE Star Alex Riley is no longer being pushed by WWE due to an incident involving him and Cena backstage last year where Riley is now and will likely be forever buried for it. Reks stated: "Anyone want to know what top guy forced me to stop using the burning hammer - even after it appeared on SD/RAW and PPV's? ... 1st house show loop, Cena asks pulls me aside, degrades me like I'm 10 years & tells me if I use it again I'd me fired. He yelled at me & said, 'Who gave u permission to use that'? Apparently he hadn't been watching the product 4 the last 8 months... Or perhaps how he stole our idea to get fired, use social media to get over, & run in from the crowd (Given to Miz & Truth)... I still have the promo DVD our idea was burned onto when Cena supposedly helped us with the idea - then lied & said it wasn't stolen later." Normally I would be hard pressed to believe stories like this and would chalk it up to a former talent being bitter on his release however….I have recently been listening to Colt Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast and on the 100th episode, Colt tells a story of how Cena was a total d*ckhead to him one of the first times they met and Colt approached him to introduce himself. Colt was talking with CM Punk on the show and explained a story where he was working as an extra for RAW and was clowning around with Zack Ryder, Luke Gallows and Curt Hawkins when Cena came to ringside to train before the show. Colt excused himself to go say hi like you are supposed to and Cena gave him the most disgusting look when he approached him as if he couldn’t be bothered to care about Colt. Colt brushed it off. However now that Punk is on top and Colt is his best friend, Cena goes out of his way to speak to Colt when he is around backstage. Amazing.

- In the "WTF" department, WWE.com released a video package for SCOTTY GOLDMAN (a.k.a. Colt Cabana)???.

- Triple H has quietly been in negotiations to find a physical home for the WWE Hall of Fame in Orlando Florida. Part of the hold-up of that deal is that Orlando is looking to host Wrestlemania 2 out of every 10 years which is difficult as WWE makes a lot of money and gets better deals when cities bid on the show. WWE is interested in Orlando because of it’s proximity to WWE developmental in Tampa as well as WWE considering setting up another office headquarters in the state since many of their contracted and developmental talents live there thus making it easier for business operations. WWE is also debating moving developmental there full time and dumping Tampa. No decision on a physical hall is expected to be made until late 2013 or early 2014.

- WWE DID YOU KNOW FROM RAW: “Smackdown is the second longest running entertainment show in TV history. RAW is the first.” You know, unless of course you count the Tonight Show originally hosted by Johnny Carson and now Jay Leno which has been on the air for about 60 YEARS!!!!!

- As expected, 2-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is set to undergo his 4th DIVORCE as his latest wife Jacqueline Fleihr official divorce papers and is suing the “dirtiest player in the game” for spousal support owed to her since their legal separation several months ago. She claims that Flair has had constant infidelities throughout their marriage. Flair is currently in a relationship with Club WWI’s own Wendy “Fifi the Maid” Barlow.

- In the not surprising department, the Charlotte Observer is reporting that Flair owes the federal government $237,436 in unpaid back taxes and $41,358 to the department of revenue.

- Flair also finally acknowledged in an interview this week that his in ring career is finally over. He is waiting for the WWE/TNA lawsuit to end so he can sign with WWE and on that note, WWE has already made it abundantly clear that Flair is NEVER going to wrestle for them because they want to keep the Shawn Michaels/Ric Flair stipulation (since they don’t acknowledge that he wrestled in TNA, let alone worked for them) and because of the incident with Jerry Lawler and even Ricky Steamboat a few years back. WWE is now re-thinking their policy on Hall of Famers and Veterans stepping in the ring.

- Flair did an interview recently talking about various subjects. One of them that came up was what his favorite career moment was. He stated that his final WWE match vs. Shawn Michaels was it and that Shawn told him before the match: "Keep your mouth shut and follow my lead." He also said that it was the easiest night of his life and that other than the finish, everything was called in the ring.

- In the unintentionally funny department, WWE’s The Great Khali is now on Twitter @GreatKhaliSays. This account has been verified by the WWE.

- The NY Daily News did an ARTICLE on A.J. Lee.

- Calgary Alberta Canada has declared the Hart Family Mansion a historical heritage site meaning it is now a national monument in Canada.

- WWE Legend Jake “The Snake” Roberts is currently penning his autobiography and he stated that he is currently up to page 600 but HAS NOT even started on his WWE career yet. WOW.

- I haven’t reported on this in a while now since it was tied up but last week a federal judge dismissed almost ALL of Martha Hart’s counts against the WWE in her lawsuit over the use of Owen Hart’s image and likeness against both Vince and Linda McMahon and ALL counts vs. WWE. Only 2 counts remain. One being a claim for back royalties owed (which she is likely to win as WWE admittedly stopped paying them to her after her attorneys informed them that she wants nothing to do with the company and that they should stop sending checks.) The other is a claim in regards to two family photos used in the Hart Anthology DVD however WWE’s claim is that Martha purchased the photos from the photographer AFTER the DVD was produced. So basically WWE is going to have to cut a check to Martha for old royalties which will cost the company around $200,000. Since WWE is likely winning this case, they may move ahead and push to induct Owen Hart into the WWE Hall of Fame without Martha’s permission.

- WWE Developmental talent Byron Saxton has been removed from the official NXT roster page however he is still with the company. WWE is moving him into an administrative role within the developmental system as he is now a Creative Assistant however he will also remain as an announcer for the NXT broadcasts. He will not longer be a contracted developmental talent meaning WWE has no plans for him to continue training as a wrestler or as a manager which is a shame because while he was FAR from the head of the class as a wrestler, he is talented on the mic. Saxton was on WWE television working alongside Josh Matthews on ECW during their dying days and then was on television as the rookie for Chris Masters on NXT and later on NXT Redemption being mentored by Yoshi Tatsu.

- Episode 93 of " Z! True Long Island Story ".

WWE TLC PPV is on Sunday, December 16th from Brooklyn New York and the line-up is as follows:

  • WWE TITLE: Kane/Daniel Bryan/Ryback vs. The Shield (Dean Ambrose/Seth Rollins/Roman Reigns) in a TABLES, LADDERS & CHAIRS MATCH.
  • WORLD TITLE: The Big Show © vs. Sheamus in a CHAIRS MATCH.
  • MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH: John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler
  • INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE: Kofi Kingston © vs. Wade Barrett

- In an update from last week and the PPV situation, as of right now, the plan is to drop only the February and September PPV’s from the calendar since they lead to Lockdown and Bound For Glory which are the # 1 & #2 PPV’s for TNA yearly. So there will be a longer build up to those PPV’s which will give storylines a longer time to come to a head going into the shows. Dixie Carter for a long time now has said ideally 8 is the magic number for PPVs per year but due to contractual obligations with cable providers, they were not able to do this until now. Currently they are only doing 10 in 2013.

- So Devon re-captured the TV Title he never lost from Samoa Joe last night. So much for Samoa Joe having a meaningful title run and decent push. *sigh*

- Kenny King with the win!!! That jump from being ROH Tag Team Champion is certainly paying off!! X-Division title shot on PPV Sunday!!

- Gee, I wonder who THIS is going to be and whether or not it will "change the face of wrestling forever and shift the balance of power in the industry."

- Velvet Sky made her return to TNA Impact last night and not too far behind is Eric Young as he revealed last night via Twitter that he has re-signed with the promotion.

- Jesse Sorenson is REHABBING NICELY from his broken neck.

- In the WWE section above, I made mention that Ric Flair is resigning to the fact that his in ring wrestling career is officially over. Well apparently Hulk Hogan’s is officially as well. It shouldn’t come as a surprise considering all of the major back surgeries he has had over the years but Hogan has apparently let everyone know that he is done. An independent wrestling group in Mexico that is backed by a television network in that country was backstage at a recent Impact taping in November and made an offer to Hogan that would have been astronomical financially. Hogan, who while he claims is ok financially, could have used that influx of cash, turned it down. He made it clear that he is physically done and is even against TNA booking him in run-ins where the heels run into his punches and bump for him. While he has done it (most recently on television), he would prefer not to.

- Hogan also continues to fight a losing battle. Earlier this week a judge in his lawsuit against the website Gawker ruled against Hogan’s motion to have the clip of his video taken off the site while he appeals the original decision. The judge ruled that Hogan was basically re-arguing his original point which was already ruled against and that Hogan continues to show that he was affected negatively in any way, shape or form.

- Did I read the TNA press release correctly? TNA Lockdown in March will be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio? Um…doesn’t that arena hold 60,000 people? Why in the f*cking world would they hold a PPV there? They are going to only draw 4,000 – 5,000 people tops. WTF?!?!?!

- The reason the Scott Steiner vs. TNA court appearance was cancelled last week is because the sides are close to a settlement that will pay Steiner the royalties owed to him. TNA did NOT however cancel their lawsuit over the disparaging remarks that were made by Steiner via social media. That will likely settle as well.

- Congrats to TNA Knockout Sarita as she finished in FIRST PLACE in a recent fitness competition.

TNA FINAL RESOLUTION is THIS SUNDAY from Orlando Florida and the line-up is as follows:

  • TNA TITLE: Jeff Hardy © vs. Bobby Roode.
  • TNA TAG TEAM TITLES: Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez © vs. Matt Morgan & Joey Ryan.
  • TNA KNOCKOUTS TITLE: Tara © w/Jesse Godderz vs. Mickie James.
  • X-DIVISION TITLE: Rob Van Dam vs. Kenny King
  • AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels - Final Time they will wrestle.
  • Austin Aries vs. Bully Ray
  • Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe & Wes Brisco & Garett Bischoff vs. Aces & Eights

Independent / International News and Notes:

- Best wishes for former ECW Original Tony Mamaluke as he officially announced his retirement from professional wrestling last weekend which was exactly 15 years to the day of his debut professional wrestling match. Mamaluke is best known for his run with James “Little Guido/Nunzio” Maritato as the F.B.I. (Full Blooded Italians) in ECW.

- Saturday, February 2, 2013 is “National Pro Wrestling Day”. It is a great concept to open up new fans to the world of professional wrestling. In Philadelphia PA, several independent promotions will be joining forces to host an entire day of professional wrestling. The best part is, the day will be FREE to the public. The promotions involved are: CHIKARA, Ring of Honor, EVOLVE, Beyond Wrestling, CWF Mid Atlantic, Kaiju Big Battel, Resistance Pro, Wrestling is Fun, IWC, WSU, Wrestling is Heart, CTWE, NYWC, QWEST, Fighting Spirit Wrestling, SOR Class Wars, Wrestling is Awesome and AIW. The event will also be aired on iPPV so my suggestion to you fans is to check it out either live or on iPPV so that you can get a taste of what different promotions out there have to offer.

- As you know, I have recently started supporting PRO WRESTLING SYNDICATE here in the independent section because honestly, it is the most fun independent promotion around today. They literally have something for EVERYONE who is a wrestling fan. I am also a longtime colleague of PWS star, “2 Cocky” Kevin Matthews as we both started independent wrestling at the same time and ran with a lot of the same people. Difference is, I gave up on the dream and Kev is still living it. For those who do not know however, Kevin was once a WWE Developmental talent in Deep South Wrestling and was released in 2006 following reconstructive surgery due to an injury he acquired while training under Bill DeMott for Deep South. Matthews has since been on a crusade via TWITTER to get the truth about DeMott out in the open for anyone who would listen about how DeMott purposely tries to injure people and does a ton of dangerous drills that have cause several injuries to plenty of past and present developmental talents in the WWE system. Well…many people outside of the WWE (especially fans of DeMott) have went on to claim that Matthews is just being “bitter” and “looking for publicity”…until now. Former WWE Talent and WWE Executive Mike Bucci a.k.a. Nova of ECW fame and Simon Dean of WWE fame recently posted on his official Facebook page that every single thing Matthews has been saying is TRUTH. Matthews has also asked fans and those bashing him to reach out to former WWE Superstar MVP and ask him about Bill DeMott. Feel free to send a message to Japan star Kenny Omega and see what he thinks about Bill DeMott and you’ll get the proof that you are looking for. Hell, I will go one step further to cement this in your skull. WWE SUPERSTAR John Cena recommended his longtime friend and person trainer Rob MacIntyre to WWE Developmental. Rob has been training with Cena since both were 15 years old in High School. Cena felt Rob would be a good asset to have in developmental to assist the talents in training methods. After being in developmental for only a few days, Rob noticed that a lot of the training DeMott was doing was unsafe and he complained about it to WWE Management. Rob MacIntyre was fired later that day because “it wasn’t a good fit”. SAME DAY. Long story short, Bill DeMott is the scum of the Earth and is not a good trainer. He is nothing more than a cancer for the WWE developmental system.

- For those of you who keep track of international wrestling, Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan is under turmoil right now as they have allegedly FIRED legend Kenta Kobashi as they cannot afford his high priced salary anymore. Kobashi, along with the late Mitsuharu Misawa are the foundations that the promotion was built on. Due to his firing, several NOAH talents are refusing to stay with the promotion going into 2013 including main event talents Jun Akiyama, Go Shiozaki and others.

- Jim Cornette’s blow up a few weeks ago at the television tapings was over the fact that Sinclair management decided to leave the show before it was over and thus no one from management was there when Steve Corino got injured to take care of the hospital visit (that Corino tried to refuse because he didn’t want to pay for it). It is said that Cornette BURIED management to everyone in the locker room and couldn’t care less whether or not management got wind of it. It is said that Corino was in real bad shape and that his life was in jeopardy.

- The documentary on the career of Nigel McGuinness has been released and as many on the internet have speculated since he announced his retirement sometime back was due to him testing positive for Hepatitis B while preparing for his in-ring comeback with TNA Wrestling. The documentary also explains his WWE signing being rescinded (as he and Daniel Bryan were both signed at the same time). McGuinness states that WWE pulled their offer from him when he failed a physical due to extensive damage in his arm that he ended up wrestling through when the injury occurred. McGuinness worked through the injury to the point that his bicep almost completely tore OFF of his arm. Not tore on one end and rolled up his arm like most severe bicep tears do, COMPLETELY OFF THE BONE. In what was a bittersweet moment for McGuinness of what “could have been”, Nigel’s last match took place on the very same day that Daniel Bryan captured his first World Title in WWE.

MMA News and Notes

- More bad news for UFC on the injury front. UFC Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz had to under go a SECOND emergency knee reconstruction surgery as his repaired ACL was rejected by his body. He is likely to miss up to a full year which is a major setback since he has already been out of action for about 8 months to date from his first MCL/ACL reconstruction. Current interim Bantamweight champion Renan Barao will be named champion. Barao was waiting to fight Cruz after winning the interim title in July. He will now defend his interim title vs. Michael McDonald at UFC on Fuel on February 16th in London. As for Cruz, a 27 year old fighter missing almost 2 full years of active competition is tragic from a sports perspective. It is such a sad story.

- Not sure where it started or if there is any truth to it at all but there is a rumor circulating in the MMA world that George St. Pierre is asking for $50,000,000.00 to fight Anderson Silva. I do not believe this to be true for one single second but on the off chance that it is true, then I am going to go on a limb right now and tell you all that we will NEVER see GSP vs. Anderson Silva if that is the case. No one in their right mind is going pay that money to GSP.

- For the record, the top draw in UFC history is Brock Lesnar and he was getting between $3,000,000 - $10,000,000 (that figure is INCLUDING bonuses) for his fights.

- It isn't happening anytime soon (GSP/Silva) anyway because at the UFC on Fox 5 press conference yesterday, Dana White made mention that when GSP got back from his vacation last week, they spoke and GSP said that he absolutely wants to fight Anderson Silva however he has unfinished business with Nick Diaz first and he wants Dana to book that fight. White said that GSP has been one of the best champions in UFC history and has NEVER EVER requested a specific fight from him and always takes whatever fight they have put in front of him so because he was honest and open about it, he is going to book GSP vs. Diaz first and then GSP vs. Silva.

- The latest issue of the UFC Magazine is stating that the new season of The Ultimate Fighter will air on Tuesday’s at 9:00 pm ET. The change in timeslot should definitely be a ratings booster as the show has been struggling for the past year.

- It wouldn’t be a new week if I wasn’t reporting on a new UFC injury and a fight being cancelled. Forrest Griffin is OFF of UFC 155 vs. Phil Davis as he tore his MCL during training. No replacement has been named yet.

- UFC Welterweight Johny Hendricks who has been mowing through opponents with hus knockout power has officially stated that he does not plan on fighting until he is given a Welterweight title shot at George St. Pierre. He defeated Jon Fitch in 12 seconds, then defeated Josh Koscheck via decision in a fight that many picked Koscheck to win going in and then he destroyed Martin Kampmann in under 2 minutes thus making him feel like he cemented his number one contender status since he beat 3 top welterweights when he was the underdog in all three fights.

- Ronda Rousey’s UFC Debut is set. Per UFC, Rousey will defend her Women’s title on Saturday, February 23rd in the MAIN EVENT vs. Liz Carmouche. Not co-main, but MAIN. Dan Henderson vs. Lyoto Machida will be the co-main.

- UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture confirmed that talks have begun on Expendables 3 and he is likely to continue his role in the film franchise.

- Mohammed “King Mo” Lawal will make his Bellator debut on January 17th on Spike TV.

- UFC Octagon Girl ARIANNY CELESTE !!!
