T.G.I.F. with Matt Dawgs: #424

Good day to you all and welcome to We Want Insanity. I am your host for today, Matt Dawgs and this is my column. Today is the end of the work week and the time to look back at all the goings-on over the past seven days as I wrap it up with a bow and spout it out bit by bit. Buckle up. Enjoy the ride.

IMPORTANT MATT NOTE:: I am hoping that you readers have taken the time to lend a hand and donated to the JAIDAN STRONG cause for me. I’d really appreciate it if you did; as little as $5 can go a long way. If not, it isn’t a big deal but please at least SHARE THE LINK. I get that finances can be tough for some but taking the time to share a link via your social media doesn’t cost a dime. I’d appreciate it greatly as one of your friends or family members may be able to help out. Thanks.

BONUS MATT NOTE: The deal is done. Walt Disney Co. announced that they have come to terms on a $52 BILLION dollar deal to purchase some of the assets of 21st Century Fox. This deal will cause the Marvel Cinematic Universe to regain control of ALL of their characters not under the MCU banner including the X-Men, Deadpool and the Fantastic Four and all of the associated characters and villains those franchises entail including Dr. Doom who is one of the Marvel Universe’s top villains, Galactus, The Silver Surfer, Kang the Conqueror, Magento and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, The name mutant and all that entails as well as several other hero and villains. It also gives Disney the broadcast and distribution rights to Star Wars: A New Hope a.k.a. episode 4 of the Star Wars franchise which was locked up by Fox. It was the only Star Wars film that was NOT owned by Disney. The deal also provides Disney with Fox’s stake in Hulu which now makes Disney the primary owner of the streaming service giving them 60% ownership.

- As witnessed on Raw, Brock Lesnar is going to end up defending the WWE title in a three way vs. Braun Strowman and Kane at The Royal Rumble PPV. Yes, someone in creative thought this was a better idea than Lesnar vs. Finn Balor.

- Lesnar and Heyman will be on RAW on Monday.

- Samoa Joe is so awesome and it is fantastic that he is on WWE TV each week. He needs to get a serious push/run as champion. He really should have been given a chance by WWE sooner as they (meaning Vince) is now seeing what he missed out on. His opening show promo was MONEY and the fans buy into him as a legit bad ass.

- Three weeks in and I am already tired of “Absolution” and the “Riott Squad”. I cannot believe they are legitimately running the exact same angle on both shows. LOL.

- So for 3 weeks now Paige, Mandy and Sonya are unsure of what they want to do with Asuka and she left the ring smiling each time they “threatened” her. This week they are tired of Asuka and want to attack her and then are outnumbered by the entire women’s roster on Raw? What the hell is going on?

- WOKEN!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! I cannot wait till they start doing skits. They need to shy away from the Bray/Matt split promo. They need to transition to something else. I found it funny again this week but I can see the same format getting real tired, real quickly.

- In order to maximize the Shield, they need to be the Shield 24/7. Not only when they team up for six man matches but when they come out for their own matches. Roman Reigns would get much more of a pop if he came through the crowd and had his riot gear on. The same goes with Seth and Dean. It makes no sense for them to come out to their own music in their singles gear when they are wearing Shield shirts. Come through the crowd with the full gear.

- Cesaro is so underrated. A shame that Vince won’t ever push him seriously.

- For those wondering, YES, Sheamus is in bad shape physically due to his spinal stenosis. He is working through it and rehabbing but is said to be in a lot of pain backstage and taking limited bumps when wrestling if you didn’t notice.

- I am in on Drew Gulak. Fun character and his gimmick is entertaining. He and Enzo make a great pair and are a few of the 205 Live guys that I am into.

- Speaking of 205 Live, Hideo Itami makes his 205 Live debut next week. I am 100% positive that when he signed with WWE 3 years ago, this is absolutely NOT where anyone involved in his hiring or any of his longtime fans thought he would be today. A shame.

- Rockstar Spud is alsoset to make his WWE debut next week. I am not sure if he will debut on RAW or on 205 Live but he will a part of the Cruiserweight division.

- Dana Brooke as a part of Titus Worldwide? Where is this going?

- Strowman and Kane needs to end. PLEASE.

- I cannot be the only one thinking that they are building to Shane McMahon vs. Daniel Bryan can I? It is almost certain that Bryan is going to wrestle again. That is the only logical conclusion to this angle. Where else would they be going with this? Vince has always been adamant that he doesn’t want to lead fans down a path that is never going to happen. WTF?

- The “Yep” movement. LOL.

- Yes, that was Colin Delaney of the WWECW days on Smackdown being squashed by the Bludgeon Brothers.

- Bryan by the way was completely f*cking AWESOME on commentary on Smackdown this week as he eviscerated Byron Saxon on commentary as Byron was “playing heel” due to being fed lines by Vince. Bryan, in his “Talking Smack/No F*cks Given” mode was justifying his actions involving Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn and he noted that he absolutely does NOT like them but he recognizes their value to Smackdown and as talents which is why he doesn’t want to lose them. He noted that 10 years ago Owens tried to gouge out his eye on an independent wrestling show (When Bryan had a real life detached retina). After a pause, Saxon noted that “That doesn’t count” (which he was probably fed the line directly by Vince because Vince HATES acknowledging things outside WWE) to which Bryan became livid saying “What the hell is the matter with you? Of course it counts

- Noam Dar had knee surgery last week and will likely be out of action for several weeks, possibly until the New Year.

- Triple H pinned Jinder Mahal CLEAN with the pedigree in INDIA. I will let that soak in for a second. Go ahead, read it again. Done? Now think about it for a bit. Contemplate what I just wrote. Wow. HHH explained in an interview with NBC sports that fans are smart and they realize that some guys transcend the business and he is one of them. That isn’t a knock on Jinder but fans in India understand that Jinder is a “bad guy” on television and HHH is a super duper star. Since it was a live event, tradition is the “good guys” win and send the fans home happy. So much stuff wrong with this statement it is insane. Firstly, before they announced HHH for the match, it was originally scheduled to be a Jinder title defense (before Jinder lost the title) against Kevin Owens. That means Jinder, despite being a heel on TV, was going to play a babyface and beat Owens. Then they changed it to add star power by putting HHH in it. Secondly, the last time HHH was on my television screen, HE WAS A HEEL. So by default, he could have played a heel and have Jinder play babyface.

- In hindsight with the Mahal push being such a failure that it was, I cannot imagine ANYONE in the office thinking that sacrificing Shinsuke Nakamura for this was worth it.

- Rich Swann was suspended indefinitely by WWE following an arrest last weekend for kidnapping and false imprisonment of his wife, independent wrestler Su Yang in Florida. Swann and Yang were returning from one of her independent shows when they began arguing as Swann was critical of her performance. She began to fear for her safety and exited the moving vehicle to which Swann then exited and physically restrained her according to eye witnesses by grabbing her in a headlock and forcing her into the car. He was arrested and held without bail. WWE has a domestic abuse policy and they suspend until the police investigation is finalized with the employee being convicted. Being that Swann is a low man on the totem pole, I fully expect that he will be wished well on his future endeavors regardless of the outcome of this case which is a shame because he likely isn’t going to get another opportunity after this.

- Paige was on the Lillian Garcia podcast this week in which she discussed her issues over the last year. She noted that she contemplated suicide following the release of her personal photos and videos and also suffered from stress induced anorexia. She also confirmed that her 2 Wellness Violation suspensions were legitimate and they were NOT for prescription drugs as she had stated but for illegal drugs. She revealed that she made the statement that they were prescription drugs because she saw herself as a role model and didn’t want to let her fans down and never in a million years thought WWE would then release a statement contradicting her claims. But they immediately did. She said she was at the lowest point in her life and was spiraling out of control. She revealed that due to the stress, she wasn’t eating at all hence the anorexia and that a significant amount of her hair has fallen out and that she is currently wrestling with extensions due to it. She is now clean and sober and eating and healthy and looks to get her life back on track. She also confirmed that she is no longer engaged to Alberto El Patron and both are moving on with their lives. She revealed that she has been seeing a therapist for her issues and she feels a lot better than she did a year ago both physically and mentally.

- WWE Hall of Famers Kevin Nash and Madusa both had knee replacement surgery last week and are both recovering.

- Kurt Angle turned 49 earlier this week. I cannot be the only person who is disappointed that it took this long for Angle to return can I? While he can still probably perform at an elite level for big matches, I feel like we lost out on so many possibilities due to his hiatus away from wrestling all those years.

- WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler revealed earlier this week that he is 99% positive that he and Jim Ross will be one of the commentary teams for the 25th Anniversary RAW from either the Barclays Center or The Manhattan Center.

- The Annual day after Christmas show at Madison Square Garden in New York will be main evented by Roman Reigns defending the Intercontinental title vs. John Cena.

- A fun exchange took place on Instagram earlier this week when Rusev posted a photo of him working out in a gym. In the comments section, former WWE Superstar Ryback commented on it noting: “I expected more weight from a Bulgarian Brute” with the hashtag #F*ckRusevDay. Rusev however replied to his comment with one of his own noting: “All natural workouts here.” LOLOLZ.

- WWE is delving into the world of Facebook Watch which is Facebook’s alternative to You Tube that is launching. They will have a weekly 20 minute program starting in January called the Mixed Match Challenge which will feature “mixed tag team matches” with Superstars from both brands teaming in a single elimination mixed tag team tournament and the winning team gets $100,000 to a charity of their choosing. The show starts on January 16th at 10:00 pm ET for 12 weeks.

- An independent wrestler named Jasper Davis, who frequently works for WWE Hall of Famer Booker T’s “Reality of Wrestling” promotion in Houston was arrested over the weekend for the murder of his girlfriend. He claims she was killed by accident when they were struggling for his gun and it went off shooting her in the FACE. Rather than calling an ambulance and reporting it to the police however, Davis proceeded to HIDE THE BODY by dumping it in a local creek. His car got stuck in the creek and when he called a friend for help to get the car out, the friend saw her body and called 911. Cops arrived at the scene, arrested Davis and then upon arriving at the home, found the couple’s 7 month old child home alone. Davis was one of the top guys in Booker T’s promotion as he was currently one half of the tag team champions as well as a singles champion in the promotion thus holding dual titles.

- Congrats to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as he and longtime beard girlfriend Lauren Hashian are expecting their 2nd child together. This will be the Rock’s 3rd child overall as his ex-wife and current partner in “7 Bucks Entertainment” Dani Garcia have a daughter together.

- A local news outlet in Louisville Kentucky where he currently resides did a piece on former WWE Star Matt Cappotelli and in it noted that despite having surgery recently to remove his 2nd brain cancer tumor in a decade, he is currently suffering from stage 4 glioblastoma which is the most fatal form of brain cancer where the patient dies in 95% of all cases. Despite all of the efforts with chemo and what not, his life expectancy is 5 years or less. Due to the effects on removing most of the tumor as well as chemotherapy, he has begun suffering from side effects similar to that of Parkinson’s disease as his speech is slurred and his motor skills have begun to suffer.

- In a surprise, WWE is interested in Bobby Lashley once his Impact contract expires in January. Due to the high cost of his deal and Impact no longer offering long term contracts, it is believed that he along with Ethan Carter III will be leaving. WWE would also love to have EC III back with the company as he was in their developmental system.

- After what seemed to be a truce of sorts, more stuff involving the separation and custody battle of David Otunga and Jennifer Hudson, mud is once again starting to fly. This one is going to be ugly in the end folks.

WWE CLASH OF CHAMPIONS PPV is THIS SUNDAY from Boston Massachusetts and the line-up is as follows:

  • WWE CHAMPIONSHIP: A.J. Styles © vs. Jinder Mahal
  • Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn with SPECIAL GUEST REFEREES Shane McMahon & Daniel Bryan. If Owens & Zayn lose, they will be fired from WWE.
  • WWE SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S TITLE: Charlotte Flair © vs. Natalya in a LUMBERJACK MATCH
  • WWE SMACKDOWN TAG TEAM TITLES: The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) © vs. The New Day vs. Benjamin & Gable vs. Rusev & Aiden English
  • WWE U.S. TITLE: Baron Corbin © vs. Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler
  • The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper & Rowan) vs. Breezango (Tyler Breeze & Fandango)
  • Zack Ryder vs. Mojo Rawley

    - Impact is set to tape from January 10th through January 15th which will be tapings for January, February and March 2018. These tapings will be at Universal in Orlando. The eventual plan is to phase out Orlando and tape in Canada moving forward but these dates were committed to before that idea was made.

    - Impact has made some inquiries about Brian Cage coming in. For those who have not seen him in action, he is quite impressive.

    - Impact is currently in talks to feature more guys from AAA as well as with Don Callis now being on board, it is expected that talks will eventually open up with New Japan and due to that, by extension, ROH.

    - As noted in the past in this column, it is a given in management that both Bobby Lashley and EC III are out the door in January and February respectively when their contracts are up. Both will likely work the above mentioned tapings in January to wrap up their storylines.

    - Longtime television producer Dave Sahadi has been let go by Impact as the latest cost cutting measure. Sahadi as some of you may know used to be the #1 understudy of Kevin Dunn in WWE and is responsible for some of the best WWE video packages in history during the Attitude Era including the infamous ARMAGEDDON HELL IN A CELL package which is one of my all-time favorites as well as the famous Limp Bizkit package involving The Rock and Steve Austin to ”MY WAY” . No word if WWE would be interested as he left abruptly and unexpectedly and has been in Impact for 14 years now.

    - Best wishes to DJ Z who has a few ruptured discs in his neck. He will NOT require surgery but will miss several months of action while the injury heals.

Ring of Honor / Lucha Underground / Independent / International News and Notes:

    - Chris Jericho made a SURPRISE APPEARANCE at the finals of the New Japan Tag League Tournament on Monday doing a run-in and attacking Kenny Omega laying him out with a “Codebreaker” and blooding him up. He also laid out Don Callis with a “Codebreaker” after he came in to check on Omega. That is dedication to fly all the way to Japan to film an angle for a match on January 4th that honestly doesn’t need all that much build to it. Jericho cut a promo on his Instagram following the angle to further hype his match with Omega.

    - Omega wouldn’t let sleeping dogs lie however and ATTACKED Jericho the following day at the Wrestle Kingdom Press Conference.

    - Hiroshi Tanahashi does NOT have a meniscus or any other sort of tear in his knee and was officially diagnosed with arthritis and water in his knee. He is expected to be cleared for Wrestle Kingdom. In all honesty however, he does need to take a break and let all of his various ailments heal up.

    - In a sign that is 100% great news for New Japan, AXS owner billionaire Mark Cuban noted to Sports Illustrated that New Japan has his full backing and he believes with the right effort, can overtake WWE one day. He paid a hefty fee to air Wrestle Kingdom on a 2 day tape delay and is said to be a huge proponent of the product.

    - ROH’s “Final Battle PPV” tonight is SOLD OUT. 1,800 seats at capacity at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

    - ROH has commissioned a NEW ROH Heavyweight Title which will debut tonight at Final Battle.

    - Congrats to Arolucha on their debut show as it was a success drawing a sellout crowd of 750 people at the Nashville Fairgrounds. The issue however is, as it is with all wrestling promotions, finding a television deal. In 2017, that is nowhere near as easy as one would think. They are building around Rey Mysterio as their top star.

    - Arolucha confirmed that they have in fact hired Vince Russo as an assistant writer. Wow. 2017 and people are still hiring Vince Russo. And for a lucha product on top of that. A man who once claimed that no one cares about Mexicans or masks. SMH.

    - As of now, Lucha Underground is likely taping their next season starting on February 16th. This is not official and no one in the company has been communicated this but that is what they are targeting. With Rey Mysterio a part of Arolucha, he no longer plans to work for LU. Those who are locked into deals with LU have been forced to cancel all independent bookings in February for the tapings.

    - Nick Aldis defeated Tim Storm at the CZW “Cage of Death” show last weekend to capture the NWA Title. Aldis is now the “face” of Billy Corgan’s NWA. I still for the life of me do not get why WWE has not given him a chance yet despite his wife working for the company, he has a good look and cuts a decent promo. You figure with his experience level, he could at least be successful in NXT.

    - Hulk Hogan has signed a deal with Pro Wrestling Tees. Expect to see his merchandise soon.

    - Former WWE star Darren Young will be making his independent wrestling return for Wrestle Pro on March 9th in Union New Jersey. He will be wrestling under his real name of Fred Rosser.

    - Best wishes to AAA’s Goya Kong as she suffered a gruesome leg break during a AAA match last weekend that saw her leg twisted and you can hear the actual break during the spot.

    - PWG has announced that January 12th will be their annual “Mystery Votex” show. This show is where they do NOT announce anyone competing on the show nor do they announce any matches. It is just essentially a “blind show” where you buy tickets and see what you get. Anyone who is booked from the show is NOT allowed to announce it and are removed from the show if it leaks. PWG always delivered quality shows at this event and usually has a surprise or two.

    - Allegedly King Kong Bundy beat up Scott Hall at an autograph signing a few weeks ago. Hall showed up late which angered Bundy and they had words which eventually fed up Bundy and he roughed up Hall pretty badly.

    - I received an anonymous email promoting a FREE wrestling show tonight in Ridgefield Park New Jersey at 8:00 pm. If you are in the area, the address is 106 Bergen Ave, Ridgefield Park. The show is titled “Create or Die” and they promotion is claiming to show fans how wrestling “should be”.

ROH “FINAL BATTLE” PPV is TONIGHT from New York City and the line-up is as follows:

  • ROH TITLE: Cody © vs. Dalton Castle
  • The Briscoes (Mark & Jay) vs. Bully Ray & Tommy Dreamer IN A STREET FIGHT
  • ROH TV TITLE: Kenny King © vs. Punishment Martinez vs. Silas Young vs. Shane Taylor
  • Marty Scurll vs. Jay Lethal
  • The Addiction (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) vs. War Machine (Hanson & Rowe)
  • ROH TAG TEAM TITLES: The Motor City Machine Guns © (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelly) vs. The Kingdom (Matt Taven & T.K. O’Ryan) vs. Chuckie T & Trent Baretta
  • ROH TRIOS TITLES: The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) & Hangman Page © vs. Dragon Lee/Titan/Flip Gordon
  • NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING’S WRESTLE KINGDOM 12 is on Sunday, January 4th, 2018 from Tokyo Japan and the line-up is as follows:

  • IWGP WORLD TITLE: Kazuchika Okada © vs. Tetsuya Naito
  • IWGP INTERCONTINENAL TITLE: Hiroshi Tanahashi © vs. Switchblade Jay White)
  • IWGP UNITED STATES TITLE: “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega © vs. “Lionheart” Chris Jericho
  • ROH WORLD TITLE: Cody © (Should he still be champion) vs. Kota Ibushi
  • IWGP JUNIOR TITLE: Marty Scurll © vs. Will Ospreay vs. KUSHIDA vs. Hiromu Takahashi
  • IWGP TAG TEAM TITLES: Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr. © vs. Evil & Sanada
  • NEVER TITLE: Minoru Suzuki © vs. Hiroki Goto IF GOTO LOSES, HE LOSES HIS HAIR
  • IWGP JUNIOR TAG TEAM TITLES: Roppongi 3K (Sho & Yoh) © vs. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)
  • MMA News and Notes:

    - With GSP being out with ulcerative colitis, it has now become questionable if he will return to MMA at all. Apparently the illness takes 6 – 8 months to recover from essentially meaning he wouldn’t be able to fight until next November most likely as he will need two months of training camp following his recovery. The last thing he needs after his long layoff is another long layoff.

    - Tony Ferguson underwent elbow surgery last week and will likely not fight until spring 2018.

    - Brian Ortega, WOW. He’s legit.

    - Frankie Edgar is looking at returning in either March or April for his title fight against Max Holloway. The winner would likely face Brian Ortega if he can win his next fight.

    - Nate Diaz revealed that UFC has offered him a title shot of his choosing in ANY weight class but he has turned them down.

    - Cain Velasquez has begun training for the first time in several months and his goal is to face the winner of Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou.

    - After being cleared by UFC doctors, Mark Hunt will return to action at UFC 221 in Perth Australia. He will face Curtis Blaydes. Despite the fight being signed, Hunt is still in the midst of a lawsuit vs. UFC for his fight with Brock Lesnar which saw Lesnar fail a USADA test following the fight.

    - I sincerely hope this is just Floyd being Floyd but Floyd Mayweather is claiming he was offered a BILLION dollars by UFC for a 3 or 4 fight deal to fight in UFC starting with a fight with Conor McGregor. Now the assumption is that Floyd is just making noise and trying to garner interest in that fight. No way would anyone working for UFC offer that kind of money because it is money they’d never be able to recoup. A Floyd MMA fight with Conor would draw a million PPV buys and would probably be the biggest drawing UFC show ever. But it would NOT come close to the 4 million buys they did in a boxing fight and once Conor MURDERS him, Floyd would no longer be a draw in MMA. Conor can still draw in boxing because he was competitive. Floyd wouldn’t come close.

    - I absolutely do not blame Floyd for trying to make more money though as Showtime revealed yesterday that Mayweather vs. McGregor officially did 4.3 million PPV buys making it the 2nd highest buy rate in boxing history trailing only Mayweather vs. Pacquiao’s 4.6 million. The event also grossed over $600 million making it one of the highest grossing events in ALL of sports history. So essentially they made bank.

UFC ON FOX is TOMORROW NIGHT from Winnipeg Canada and the line-up is as follows:

  • Glover Teixeira vs. Misha Cirkunov
  • Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Jared Cannnonier
  • Tim Elliott vs. Justin Scoggins
  • Chad Laprise vs. Galore Bofando
  • John Makdessi vs. Abel Trujillo
  • UFC 219 is on Saturday, December 30th, 2017 from Las Vegas Nevada and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC WOMEN’S FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE: Cris “Cyborg” Justino © vs. Holly Holm
  • Jimmie Rivera vs. TBD
  • Cynthia Cavillo vs. Carla Esparza
  • Carlos Condit vs. Neil Magny
  • Edson Barboza vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov
  • UFC 220 is on Saturday, January 20th, 2018 from Boston Massachusetts and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC ON FOX is on Saturday, January 27th, 2018 from Charlotte North Carolina and the line-up is as follows:

  • Ovince St. Pruex vs. Ilir Latifi
  • UFC 221 is on Saturday, February 11th, 2018 from Perth Australia and the line-up is as follows:

  • UFC MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE: Robert Whitaker © vs. Luke Rockhold

    - Of course the talk of tinsel town is the Disney/Fox deal and how it brings the X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What hasn’t been discussed is what other famous franchises that are now moving under the Disney umbrella. Disney now owns the rights to the following TV and movie franchises:

  • Avatar
  • Alien
  • 24
  • The Simpson
  • Planet of the Apes
  • Die Hard
  • Independence Day
  • Family Guy
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer
  • Angel
  • Predator
  • Goosebumps
  • American Horror Story
  • Empire
  • Home Alone
  • M*A*S*H*
  • Rio
  • and more………

    - With the sale of Fox to Disney, most of the 2018 movie releases are expected to go on as planned including X-Men: Dark Phoenix which wrapped production a few weeks ago and Deadpool 2. That being said however, most stuff that was confirmed however NOT in production such as the long anticipated Gambit film starring Channing Tatum will likely NOT BE FILMED meaning Tatum is OUT as Gambit. Disney CEO Bob Iger also noted that it is NOT out of the realm of possibility that they will continue with Fox’s path of “R-Rated” super hero films meaning if Deadpool 2 is the success people think it will be, Ryan Reynolds may stick around in the Disney-verse and reprise his role for a third film.

    - The mutant world as well as the Fantastic Four are expected to be integrated into the MCU almost immediately. We can expect solo films from those as soon as 2020 as well as possible re-writes to Avengers 4 and other films that have not begun production yet like Captain Marvel or Guardians 3.

    - So the Walking Dead took a WIDE RIGHT TURN during the mid-season finale and is killing off a MAJOR character that has major ramifications on future storylines that are currently ongoing in the comics. So from here on in, the comic and the show are going two completely separate ways as the character that is dying plays a pivotal role in what happens for the next two years at least. I am sticking to my guns in saying that the ACTOR wanted out of the show and the entire hullabaloo about Scott Gimple deciding to write him out for the benefit of the storyline is just a face saving measure as he can take the heat as show runner and not get lynched for it. if it was the other way around, the actor would become a pariah and be hunted and targeted for hate crimes by hardcore Walking Dead fans, which there are a lot of. This way, he gets to not get buried for wanting off the show.

    - Happy Star Wars day!!! I still have yet to get my tickets for it. I am going to try and finagle seeing it tomorrow but most likely next weekend. I can tell you that as of now, the film is trending towards an incredible $450 million worldwide opening weekend. Holy sh*t if they hit that number or higher.

    - To the surprise of no one, The Punisher has been green lit by Netflix for a 2nd season. Yay!!!

    - She-Ra, Princess of Power is being rebooted for Cartoon Network. How she got a series in 2017 but He-Man and the Masters of the Universe does not is mind blowing. And while we are at it, let’s get some Silverhawks, C.O.P.S., Gargoyles, and other 80’s cartoons rebooted? By the way, while I was a huge Silverhawks fan, I never realized that the show was only on the air for 3 months. They shot and aired 65 episodes in 3 months?!?!?!?!
