The Challenge Dirty 30: Episode 15

By James Bullock Oct 26, 2017 - 8:36 AM print

Previously on The Challenge: Former “Challenge” greats found themselves behind the eight-ball that saw them being put in losing situations including Johnny Bananas at Derrick’s hand; sending him into the Redemption House alongside the likes of CT, Cara Maria, Veronica, Jordan & Leroy.

The Redemption House inhabitants are surprised to see Johnny Bananas arriving, hearing the explanation as why he’s here. While the main house competitors are given a clue as to what’s to come tomorrow, the Redemption House empties for the last time where the players fighting to get back in the game will be forced to solve a combination to unlock some puzzle pieces to build a logo of the “Dirty 30” all the while being human whack-a-moles. But in a pleasant surprise for the guys, there will be three winners overall (two men, one woman). The ladies are up first and Cara & Britni take the leading solving the puzzle. It doesn’t take long before Cara easily wins.

When the men step up for their round, poor Dario can barely make it through the hole. The concentration levels of these guys are nowhere on par with the girls, but Jordan & CT eventually make it to the puzzle with the latter doing a masterful job in securing his spot back in the house. Jordan soon follows – officially putting Leroy, Veronica, Britni, Aneesa, Jemmye, Dario & Johnny Bananas out of the game!

Instead of accepting the win and being happy about having a nice night out, Cara starts an argument with Kailah about putting her in the Redemption House. Jordan jumps in to start an argument between himself & Cara that started in the Redemption House. While Cara tries to understand Kailah’s intentions and their plans for her future game plan, Hunter has to go to the hospital to find out why his wrist is still messed up. According to the doctor, Hunter could suffer permanent damage if he continues. Hunter will continue!

The next day arrives and it’s time for a Daily Challenge where host TJ Lavin finally reveals the truth about them fighting for a chance to win a share of one million dollars. But before that finale challenge the second Purge happens today with a game called “X Marks the Spot”. TJ allows everyone to pick their own partners for this Challenge where these five teams of two must complete an obstacle course that sees them rolling the color-coded corresponding crates down to a stopping point where they must open the crate and retrieve some ropes that they must carry to a series of numbered poles that must total up the number on the rope that will point them in the direction of a dig spot. In the ground with be some puzzle pieces that will allow the eventual four winners (two guys & two girls) entry into the finale.

Jordan & Tori really do well early on with Camila & Derrick not being far behind. When it comes to opening the crate things go downhill for teams Tony & Jenna and Hunter & Kailah with the latter teaming being hindered by Hunter’s busted right arm. While the last place teams finally complete the second stage, Jordan & Tori are the first to figure out the rope-pole puzzle. They continue their lead with Cara & CT taking second place while heading into another puzzle section where they must turn some puzzle pieces into a square. CT is the first to complete the second puzzle with Cara not far behind.

Jordan & Tori are left to outmaneuver Derrick & Camila and Tori pulls it off first. While Jordan and Derrick battle for the last spot, Tony and Hunter finally get their bags. But it’s too late as Jordan figures it out first and gets that second coveted spot for the guys. Then TJ drops another bombshell: two more spots are open for a final do-or-die style challenge where one of the guys and one of the girls who lost today will earn their last opportunity to potentially see a portion of seven-figures in prize money.

Episode High(s): Redemption At a Price. Once again, the action coming from this episode was incredibly fun to watch not simply because of what was happening during the rounds, but, most importantly the end results where some of the best players proved themselves while others were left to wallow in self-pity … until the final reveal where we’ll see two more people prove themselves worthy of being in the finale.

Episode Low(s): Jordan Butting in. I have something of a pet peeve when guys get involved in women’s argument when they have no reason to speak in defense of either woman. Jordan doesn’t like Cara and tried to take her down a peg, but it just comes across as wimpy for a guy to argue with a woman when it has nothing to do with him.

Daily Challenge Winners: CT, Cara Maria, Jordan & Tori

Eliminations: Darrell (Episode 5), Amanda (Episode 5), Devin (Episode 5), Latoya (Episode 5), Derrick H. (Episode 5), Briana (Episode 5), Ammo (Episode 6); Nicole (Episode 10); Marie (Episode 10); Cory (Episode 10); Nelson (Episode 11) Leroy (Episode 15); Veronica (Episode 15); Britni (Episode 15); Aneesa (Episode 15); Jemmye (Episode 15); Dario (Episode 15); Johnny Bananas (Episode 15)

Most Embarrassing Athletic Display: Dario. This is one of those cases where fate really screwed over Dario. Being one of the shorter competitors in the game and trying not to get hit on the head (failing at the latter), Dario looked hilariously undersized for the Daily Challenge and got hit for his trouble in the process – not a good day to be Dario.

Competitor of the Week: CT. #BostonStrong if there ever was a competitor is CT. The legendary “Challenge” player pulled off not only athletic feats during this episode, but also displayed his underrated puzzle-solving skills. CT is practically ageless when it comes to “The Challenge”.

Episode Summary in Five Words or Less: Do your Dr. Evil impersonation.
