The Challenge: Vendettas - Reunion (Part 2)

By James Bullock Apr 20, 2018 - 8:17 AM print

Previously on The Challenge: “The Challenge: Vendettas” reunion saw arguments aplenty break out as Cara Maria & Nicole found they had issues, Leroy still thought ill of Tony’s actions & the failed relationship between Nelson & Kayleigh.

WWE Superstar & former two-time “Challenge” champion The Miz is still here; returning to his old stomping grounds to host this grand finale featuring recap videos of everything that happened during the season and, of course, the unseen including an argument between Cara and Marie that didn’t air. According to Marie, Cara’s passive aggressive nature made her enemy number one when it came to the girls this season. Marie went as far as to actually write her own note to Cara explaining Maria’s boo in Kyle is a player trying to hook up with anyone.

Cara didn’t really care since she won the war in the sack. But someone who does still car about wars won & lost is none other than Johnny Bananas losing to Devin in the Elimination Round. Cory expresses his pride of seeing people finally stand up to take on & down the veterans. But some rookies didn’t join the cause like Natalie; resulting in her getting caught in the crossfire.

The Miz moves away from this argument that goes nowhere to Brad’s return causing new vendettas to be born including one with Marie due to a fight over pizza, Zach expressing his feelings that Brad is going through a midlife crisis, and the Twitter exchange that followed between Brad & Zach with this incredible hashtag:

Zach can’t even be mad at Brad anymore after that hilarity. But two people who still don’t get along are Kam and Melissa stemming from their fight on the show that eventually caused Melissa to be eliminated and Kayleigh – Melissa’s friend that, according to Jemmye & Devin, was going behind her back and talking bad about her – having her stuff thrown out of the house. Kailah reveals that Kayleigh was spreading rumors about her in the house as well. While Johnny Bananas defends Kayleigh for having her personal property ruined by this season’s “mean girls” and Jemmye accepts she did something wrong, Kailah feels vindicated for what she did. But there are more rumors to address including snuggle sessions between Veronica & Nicole and Kayleigh trying to start a spark between Tony and Melissa. Melissa also liked to stir some stuff up by claiming Tony and Kailah hooked up (according to Nelson – all three deny it). But Melissa is caught red-handed hooking up with Bananas even though both deny anything happened. You make the decision.

Forget the relationship controversies or lack thereof, Nelson got into arguments aplenty be it either with Shane or with Cara. The latter was about Cara believing she’s the crème de la crème of “Challenge” females – something Nicole claimed she felt as well in regards to Cara’s attitude. Maria tries to defend herself not only against the people she competed against this season, but also Mercenary Jordan – a person she’s had run-ins with as recently as last season of “The Challenge”. In defense of Cara, Derrick actually gets into an argument with Jordan that also starts an on-stage fight. Cara breaks down while The Miz tries to explain what it means to be someone of her status and how she should be proud of people thinking of her in such a dominant way. Though Cara denies she’s great there’s a chance she will solidify her status as it’s time to find out who won the entire season thanks to one final puzzle. It’s all down to Zach, Cara, Kyle & Kailah.

Zach and Kyle pull out second and third place respectively while poor Kailah doesn’t get any money. The celebration is on for the first solo “Challenge” winner in history.
Episode High(s): Confronting the Past. This proved to be a great reunion with Cara getting her shining moment, several unveiled happenings both during the season & following, potential match-ups for next season being put in place & Tony proving himself as a grown man while certain people saw no faults in their actions. Oh, and kudos to Brad for actually doing something incredibly funny in a Twitter beef. Most Twitter beefs are either cringe-worthy or stupid to the point you question humanity. Then you spot one shining beacon of hope that is a turn of a phrase that is incredibly clever and funny. Episode Low(s): Hating on the Best. While it’s understandable not to like someone in the game, everyone ganging up on Cara for having a supposed “mightier than thou” attitude for being the best female competitor in the game was ridiculous considering you have people like Johnny Bananas with the same type of attitude who rarely gets insulted (Devin being one of the few to call him out in the same manner as everyone verbally attacking Maria). Even worse is the fact Cara saw this as a bad testament to her character; which is not true. Episode Summary in Five Words or Less: Best of the best.
